The hotel

In a city of fabulous excess where big is always beautiful, the 5,000-room MGM Grand takes the XXL biscuit. The world’s second largest hotel features a 6.5-acre Grand Pool Complex containing four swimming pools, three whirlpools, Vegas’ longest lazy river, and waterfalls. The Wet Republic Ultra Pool holds seasonal pool parties too. And that’s just for starters, as the MGM Grand hosts huge sporting events, top shows such as Ka by Cirque du Soleil, Virtual Reality and famous performers such as David Copperfield. MGM Grand was the perfect location for our visit. Easy access to other MLife hotels. The hotel is right on the Las Vegas strip. The food was great. Staff were very welcoming and kind. The rooms were exceptionally clean.

Had dinner at Hencho. Found dead fly in my water and manager Eduardo Rangel said “It’s fly season so you can drink fly water or we can get you another” Couldn’t believe that was the response of a manager of restaurant. Really ruined the evening and I drank fly water yuck

I would give the MGM Grand 5 stars, but our room smelled of cigarette smoke. I wouldn't mind, but I had to hear it from my wife about every 15 minutes. Other than that, the pools and lazy river are fantastic and the shops are great. We loved having a monorail stop right in the hotel. The property is clean beyond belief. Wonderful selection of restaurants to choose from. We will go back soon. It would be nice to be able to use the room key to make purchases without ID. I soaked my cash in the lazy river. I have to add that the beds are the most comfortable I have ever had in a hotel. Read less

Half the table games were not open and the ones that were open, almost all were blackjack. Mississippi Stud and Let it Ride attract gamblers. Had to gamble at other resorts unfortunately to enjoy my experience.

We have stayed at the MGM numerous times. We have always enjoyed the property and the staff. This trip was much different. The only reason I gave it three stars is because of the staff and the staff alone. Everyone that we encountered from the dealers to the bartenders to the pool and spa staff were all engaged and ready to provide outstanding service. The property as a whole is on the downhill. The rooms are tired the carpets and casinos need a complete overhaul. The chairs at the pool are tired and spent. The prices were exorbitant for alcohol and other food items. I know things were rough for them due to Covid but $48.99 for a large take away pepperoni pizza??? Two single well vodka cranberry drinks $38.00. You can’t recoup lost money during the shut down by overcharging. Overall the property was run down and dirty. We were very disappointed and won’t be back. Vegas is a big dirty rip off now Read less
