MGM Grand Hotel & Casino

The Strip, Las Vegas

The hotel

In a city of fabulous excess where big is always beautiful, the 5,000-room MGM Grand takes the XXL biscuit. The world’s second largest hotel features a 6.5-acre Grand Pool Complex containing four swimming pools, three whirlpools, Vegas’ longest lazy river, and waterfalls. The Wet Republic Ultra Pool holds seasonal pool parties too. And that’s just for starters, as the MGM Grand hosts huge sporting events, top shows such as Ka by Cirque du Soleil, Virtual Reality and famous performers such as David Copperfield. On top of that, Hakkasan regularly hosts DJs Calvin Harris and Tiesto. Peckish after all that? Then take your pick from a mouth-watering range of restaurants that satisfy pretty much any mood and taste you can imagine.

Who wants to stink like cigarettes all the time. Time to ban the cigarettes. Your staff would appreciate it also. Be the leaders.... be the difference. There are many that would choose a non smoking property over a smoking property. You ban it in the rooms, why not the lobby and casino?

Bellhop staff was extremely rude. They refused to help me with an extremely heavy golf bag and ignored me when I asked why. Lots of hidden resort fees in my booking and front desk staff refused to help me with checkout. I booked on hotels.com and was charges resort fees with the booking then another $39/day upon check out. Very disappointing.

The rooms were fair, could be updated especially the carpet. The ladies in the Starbucks had no sense of urgency, barely moving. I left after waiting 30 minutes. They… Read more
Thankfully I downloaded the app and checked in and checked out without waiting in the long lines. It is a long trek thru a maze to get from the parking garage to the room elevators. The rooms were fair, could be updated especially the carpet. The ladies in the Starbucks had no sense of urgency, barely moving. I left after waiting 30 minutes. They really need to address this. The $39 resort fee plus the $5 tax is a rip off. We paid $132 for nothing. The pools were limited because of Covid. I think the resort fees are a rip off of the consumer anyway unless you are really at a resort. Wolfgang Pucks was great. Really enjoyed our lunch there. Read less
