MGM Grand Hotel & Casino

The Strip, Las Vegas

The hotel

In a city of fabulous excess where big is always beautiful, the 5,000-room MGM Grand takes the XXL biscuit. The world’s second largest hotel features a 6.5-acre Grand Pool Complex containing four swimming pools, three whirlpools, Vegas’ longest lazy river, and waterfalls. The Wet Republic Ultra Pool holds seasonal pool parties too. And that’s just for starters, as the MGM Grand hosts huge sporting events, top shows such as Ka by Cirque du Soleil, Virtual Reality and famous performers such as David Copperfield. On top of that, Hakkasan regularly hosts DJs Calvin Harris and Tiesto. Peckish after all that? Then take your pick from a mouth-watering range of restaurants that satisfy pretty much any mood and taste you can imagine.

First time in Vegas in a while. The Rewards program is a joke. The MGM is worn and the quality of people there was a D minus. Not enough table games. I was there for 2 days. They said I gambled less than 2 hours. They actually told me I needed to confirm with the Pit Boss every time I left a table how much I played. Comps were almost impossible to… Read more

The biggest issue was the customer service and how technical issues were handled on their end. Upon check out, i was standing in lime for 15 minutes. The front desk lady said "youre 15 minutes late I have to charge you $30 for late checkout" I had to point out ive been in the long line for 15 minutes and she "gave me a break this time" and didnt charge me. There were only 2 front desk people, obviously ive been in line for a long time, why did this conversation need to be had? The rooms were cheap, but so was the customer service. It seemed they were so focused that the rooms were cheap, that they can provide cheap customer services, not factoring in the hundreds spent on gambling and food. I would definitely choose another hotel. They also didnt have a Covid screening and rarely did i ever see cleaners cleaning the slot machines. Read less

I wouldn’t suggest coming here alone and drinking. This place is full of opportunists who are walking around looking for people to take advantage of and rob. Even if you’re in a group be careful. They should do a better job of kicking those “undesirables” out.
Image of the Tripadvisor rating No directional signage and poor power source in hotel room

The hotel is so confusing and the signage is TERRIBLE. There is not one sign that directs you to the strip until you are already directly in front of the door and can see it for yourself. There are four massive wings, direction is crucial. Also, NONE of the outlets worked in our room except the one in the bathroom. Everything we plugged in… Read more

There are four massive wings, direction is crucial. Also, NONE of the outlets worked in our room except the one in the bathroom. Everything we plugged in literally fell out of the wall. I was also extremely scared for my safety when another patron began stalking me (4 different encounters). He offered me $100 to be allowed to sit next to me then became hostile when I told him no. I don’t believe I was taken seriously when I reported it to staff. Read less

Booked the room for my birthday weekend, location wasn’t a big factor for me didn’t mind the walk. Would take the bus if planning on going down the strip. Room was “upgraded” wasn’t anything to run home about. Room was clean and smelt nice, average hotel room nothing really special but got the job done.
