The LINQ Hotel + Experience

The Strip, Las Vegas

Virgin rating

The hotel

Well-connected, the name lets slip the hotel’s ‘link’ to extra food, fun and frivolity. The guestrooms are hip and high-tech, but you won’t be there much with the LINQ’s endless diversions. The centrepiece is the High Roller – the world’s tallest observation wheel, at 550-ft high it takes 30 minutes to do the full loop. You’re also ‘linked’ to an exclusive shopping, entertainment and dining promenade. And, of course, the all-essential Vegas casino. Over 21s can enjoy the pool, with nightly swims twice a week, Champagne Sundays and pool deck misting. Then there are the other decadences: the Brooklyn Bowl, a massive bowling and live music venue, and endless dining and drinking establishments, including 24-hour Hash House A Go Go, whose colossal portions featured on ‘Man v Food’.

While the hotel staff were quite friendly, the guestroom left a lot to be desired. The shower was not clean (wad of hair on the wall), and the product dispenses were empty (shampoo and body soap). The toilet seat was loose, as was the toilet paper dispenser. One if the table lamps had dead bulbs. Lastly, the HVAC unit was very noisy (making it… Read more

Overall, the hotel is fine, but the rooms need much attention!!! Read less

First the room smelled of a combination of Some kind of bug spray. The AC unit in the room is making an ungodly noise! I called the front desk. They sent maintenance and now they have to replace the whole unit which is ridiculous! I will never stay

First time, probably last! Everything is a money grab! Including WI-FI! Had nothing but issues with that! Ugh! Never thought I would have to PAY $75 to sit by a pool and are “required” to spend at least $100! WTF! OMG! And it closed at 6pm….105 degree weather! (40 Celsius). A good manager would have extended that time so THEIR customers could get… Read more

A good manager would have extended that time so THEIR customers could get relief! Be prepared for $20 regular cocktails! Vegas has definitely changed! Sooooooo expensive! Read less

The Linq is mainly a place for those who do not require more than a bed, shower and place to store belongings. It is priced for being on the strip. Be mindful of the resort fees charged even though nothing about it felt like a resort. Housekeeping didn't come until we told them to because we needed towels. The pool experience is entry level, you… Read more

The pool experience is entry level, you want really low key vibes. The Linq simply serves a fundamental travel stay purpose. Read less

Second visit to Las Vegas, and the Linq put me off returning. On arrival we were directed to an automated service rather than an actual person which took forever (yet still quicker than the VIP reception). After paying for an upgraded room, we walked into our room to find our view was a wall with a bunch of rubble in front of it! We requested a room worthy of the upgrade we had paid for and got a pool view room. But this one had the loudest air con I've ever heard in my life. Not wanting to complain again, we switched it off and tried to get some sleep (long early flight from the UK) but were woken up by the room above us putting their also very loud air con on. It was 40°c when we visited but couldn't have our air con on to sleep! We reported it to the reception who asked a maintenance man to fix it. He came, replaced the unit switched it on and the new one was as loud as the last one! He then walks away saying "all air con is loud!". We have visited many hotels on our travels and never have we been kept awake by such loud air con. It was honestly like a jumbo jet was approaching our room. Obviously the people in the room above had the same issue because they turned theirs off at night to sleep too. The attitude of the staff, the extortionate extra costs and the lack of sleep means I would never return to the Linq. The location is good but so are many others with cheaper rooms and better views.
