The LINQ Hotel + Experience

The Strip, Las Vegas

The hotel

Well-connected, the name lets slip the hotel’s ‘link’ to extra food, fun and frivolity. The guestrooms are hip and high-tech, but you won’t be there much with the LINQ’s endless diversions. The centrepiece is the High Roller – the world’s tallest observation wheel, at 550-ft high it takes 30 minutes to do the full loop. You’re also ‘linked’ to an exclusive shopping, entertainment and dining promenade. And, of course, the all-essential Vegas casino. Over 21s can enjoy the pool, with nightly swims twice a week, Champagne Sundays and pool deck misting. Then there are the other decadences: the Brooklyn Bowl, a massive bowling and live music venue, and endless dining and drinking establishments, including 24-hour Hash House A Go Go, whose colossal portions featured on ‘Man v Food’.

I stayed at the Linq Hotel on 2/21. The day before check-in, I looked up hotel amenities on their website and realized the pool was closed. Upon realizing the pool was closed, I called the 800 number listed on the website and specifically asked if the steam room and jacuzzi were available for hotel guests as an included resort amenity. I was told, 2 guests per room were allowed complimentary spa admission and any additional guests would be charged $20 per person. I was fine with that information and decided to arrive early to enjoy the spa. However, upon checkin I was told that admission to the spa was at a charge. I explained my previous phone call. I was told by a hotel manager that it was unfortunate misinformation. She then informed me that she could check the call center log and review the call to make sure that's what I was told. I took that as an implication that I was lying, however, I welcomed her research. She told me the call center was in the Phillipines and she'd follow up the next day. I've heard nothing as far as a follow up yet. Moving on to later that night, we arrived back to our room after a concert around 11pm and decided to order room service, the menu stated room service was available until midnight. We made multiple calls to room service with no answer. Finally, we called Guest Services at 1130 and was told Room Service closed at 1130. We explained the menu said it was available until midnight. Well....once again we were told that was unfortunate misinformation and the menu shouldn't be in the room. If all you need is a centrally located bare bones type clean place to lay your head....this place is fine. However, with so many hotels in the same area, similarly priced, and with far superior amenities I doubt this would be my choice going forward (unless everything else was sold out) The Linq is ok....just not up to par with the neighboring Flamingo or Harrah's. Left my phone at a machine on day 2, told front desk who called security and was told they could do nothing, not even check cctv. Absolute joke. Fire alarm went off at 1.30 am for about half hour and no apology or explanation was made from the hotel. We Wanted to watch the boxing in the sports bar and they said they're only playing "sports" as if boxing isn't a sport? But then after the fight they put mma on. Go figure? Stinks of weed everywhere inside the hotel. We've easily spent 800 dollars inside the hotel on food and gambling and we went to the bar playing poker after having 2 drinks were hit with a 26 dollar bill. We use our rewards card so the hotel can see this, so they should know we're worthy of a couple of rum and cokes for free. We check out tomorrow and they're going to expect us to pay the service charge. This was a 40th birthday gift and have travelled from the UK to be here, I urge people not to use this hotel it's possibly the worst experience I've ever had. We even met a guy who's been coming here 24 years and he said he won't ever return. Read less

The hotel concierge and box office staffs were kind and exceptional. We did have to evacuate the hotel tower in the middle of the night due to a sprinkler discharge in the parking garage, but the staff was quick to let us know everything was alright and we were allowed to head back to our room shortly after the evacuation. All in all we loved our stay with all of the dining and entertainment options at the Linq. We really enjoyed the view from the High Roller! We will be back. Read less

I booked 6 months ago and we were given a handy cap room nothing what the rooms look like on line. Told there were no others rooms available to move closer with a King bed so we could be closer to my cousins room. I have no idea why we were given a handy cap room. The fire bell went off at 1:30 am one night a bit nerve wracking no explanation over the intercom. Parking was aweful with crappy signage. This was the first time my husband was in Vegas and this is not what I wanted for him. I was asked to leave their bar as I was eating some ice cream and my husband and cousin wanted a beer. So I had to go eat my ice cream 10 feet away so I was not in the bar. Stupid !!!!!! I won’t be returning Read less
