The LINQ Hotel + Experience

The Strip, Las Vegas

Virgin rating

The hotel

Well-connected, the name lets slip the hotel’s ‘link’ to extra food, fun and frivolity. The guestrooms are hip and high-tech, but you won’t be there much with the LINQ’s endless diversions. The centrepiece is the High Roller – the world’s tallest observation wheel, at 550-ft high it takes 30 minutes to do the full loop. You’re also ‘linked’ to an exclusive shopping, entertainment and dining promenade. And, of course, the all-essential Vegas casino. Over 21s can enjoy the pool, with nightly swims twice a week, Champagne Sundays and pool deck misting. Then there are the other decadences: the Brooklyn Bowl, a massive bowling and live music venue, and endless dining and drinking establishments, including 24-hour Hash House A Go Go, whose colossal portions featured on ‘Man v Food’.

I’ve been wanting to stay here for some time having passed by it during my visits to Vegas. It seemed trendy and for what ever reason I thought well-maintained maybe because of the paint of the exterior facade or flashy blue lights. Blue is my favorite color. I was even fortunate enough to catch Mat Franco’s magic show at the Linq during one visit and the venue was pretty nice. The show was awesome!! Back to the hotel, just ignore the raging river through the first level of the garage (perhaps a seasonal thing?). Honestly, I don’t know what that was about and didn’t bother to ask. Once inside, there was so much going on you could easily miss the front desk, tucked away in a corner and with only 1 person working with a line of about 15-20 people. There are multiple kiosks that you can use to check-in/out so I opted to use that. To get to your room, you need to figure out the district to which you are assigned (District 1, 2 or 3) and follow the signs. I was in district 3 (noted on the slip of paper that the kiosk printed out) and it was a bit of a walk. Inside my room; toilet seat looked like it was painted over many times and with a brush, but still couldn’t hide the burn marks, the entire surround caulking in the shower had deeply embedded mold (come on, time to replace the caulking), hand towels were old, dingy and very rough, lighting in bathroom was too dim, furniture had water damage and mattress was very, very lumpy. I can tolerate a lot and understand wear and tear, but a little bit more love and attention is needed. Lastly, and I guess it comes with being assigned a room directly across from the housekeeping linen closet, but please Linq management, speak with your housekeeping team that when they start work to be mindful of guests who are still sleeping at 7-8am! Each morning, I was rudely awaken by the staff literally shouting to each other from both ends of the hall, while retrieving their housekeeping carts banging them into the walls and door and every inch of the way out of the closet!! I watched this from my door peephole and was tempted to say something, but there were about 4-5 housekeepers and I didn’t need a confrontation to start each day. Too bad the phone in my room didn’t work…did I not mention that? I hope others have a better experience than me. Read less

Like any hotel in Vegas it’s always a party. Clean room, our view was ok, everything worked but the house keeping can be better. They came around 7p. We didn’t need anything but I felt it was late. I’m glad they came by tho. I expected them between noon and 3p but it’s all good. Besides that the hotel is great for what we paid for and the location… Read more

Picked this place because of the $35 rate on Sunday as Luxor was charging over $150 on that day. Also it saved me $300 compared to returning on a Sunday back to the Bay Area and fly back Monday AM hence another full day left. I checked out of Luxor before 10AM & took the monorail from MGM Grand to Linq immediately. The check in lines are automated, no people unless its needed. The downside was that if one checked in early then you’d have to pay more. What’s the use if you do that and not get a room? I dropped my bag at the bell desk and checked back in after 3:30pm. Got room 12073 which was at District 2. Room and hallways smelled much cleaner than it did at Luxor. Bathroom was immaculate and loved the walk in shower. Similar to Luxor no bar soap but dispensers like what I’ve seen at Singapore Changi Airport Ambassador hotel. A few issues were that phone did not work especially when I needed a laundry bag and assistance with refilling more soap, so had to call from cell phone. Bed was extremely comfortable. I’ll pick this place if the price is reasonably good. Read less

I really wish our experience would have been better. I should have just paid the additional $500 to stay at the Ceasars Palace since we already had tickets their for the absinthe show. I figured we're not going to spend much time in the room so I'll say the extra $500 and stay at the sister property. Worse mistake ever. Considering we checked in on my birthday to room 11133 and did not get offered any special perks. Our room had no hot water what so ever. We both took cold showers on our first night. On our second night at least my girlfriend was able to get a hot shower in but by the time I got in the water was cold for me. Our fridge never worked , and our safe did not work either. I requested to speak to a manager and never received a call or any contact what so ever. I'm very upset as it was my girlfriends very first vegas experience. Read less

Very disappointing! We come to Vegas at least once a year and stay at one of the Caesars properties, normally the Linq or Planet Hollywood. To find out we have to pay $25/day to park in self parking which is a couple blocks away is unacceptable. We play the machines, tables and are here to gamble. Just feels like being nickeled and dimed. Really… Read more
