Vdara Hotel & Spa at ARIA Las Vegas

The Strip, Las Vegas

Virgin rating

The hotel

Designed for those who want to tap into the energy and excitement of Las Vegas but would prefer to enjoy it from an exclusive, non-gaming and smoke-free resort, Vdara is one of few hotels in Vegas not to house a casino. What you get instead is a cosmopolitan, all-suite hotel that feels blissfully private despite being in the heart of the action. The cutting-edge pool is surrounded by private retreats, semi-private plunge pools and cabanas; there’s a world-class spa, and you are a few short minutes away from a dizzying range of dining, shopping and entertainment options, so you’ll never be short of things to do. The Vdara really is an oasis in the desert.

This was our first time staying at Vdara and we stayed in the parlor suite. Overall, the hotel is nice and in a convenient location on the strip. Not having a casino is nice as you don't have to deal with large crowds when trying to get from one point to another. There are pros and cons here, so I will break them down. Pros: 1. Good location on the strip 2. Indoor walkway to Cosmo and Bellagio 3. Quiet compared to hotels with a casino 4. The suite was large with a mini frig, cooktop and microwave Cons: 1. Next to impossible to get a Lyft or Uber here as the location apps only show Aria 2. If you rent a car at Aria, you have a LONG, LONG walk to get from the parking garage to Vdara. 3. Although the suite we had was nice, it had a strange layout. There was a half wall that separated the bed from the living area and each area had its own TV. Because it wasn't a full wall, you couldn't have both TVs on at the same time as the noise was very annoying. Therefore, it made having 2 TVs useless since one would drown the other out. 4. No exhaust fan in the bathroom. WHY MGM???? We have seen this at almost all MGM properties. Some don't have any kind of vent, so can't get AC in the bathroom either. 5. Very limited food options and the "deli market" near the lobby is NASTY!!!!! You should just not bother and go get food anywhere else as you could also eat a nice dinner for what that nastiness costs. 6. Housekeeping. Another MGM issue as we have seen this all over (except at Cosmo, but give it time). We had to constantly contact housekeeping to get washcloths, body wash, shampoo etc. as they would not refill the shampoo or body wash dispensers and just leave them empty. They would also leave one (or some days none) washcloths. 2 adults in the room and only one washcloth just won't cut it. Although overall the room was okay and hotel is nice, we probably wouldn't choose to stay here again because the cons outweigh the pros with us. The "little" issues become very big issues when you deal with it for a week straight. Read less

Love this hotel in Vegas. Rooms are all suites so there isn’t a bad one in the place. We had one with lovely views of the strip. Very roomy with easy check in which can be rare in Vegas. Connected to Aria and Bellagio with walkway. Will be back again.

The fitness is nice but way too small people leaving every morning due to lack of space. Further there are too few machines. Opening hours also doesn’t help. Why have a fitness that closes at 6? Food selection wasn’t my favorite but a well functioning take away pick solves the selection issue I will look at Vdara next time we are in Vegas again. Read less

Third time we have stayed at Vdara but first time since pandemic. The hotel staff are still helpful and friendly and we like that there isn’t a casino but there is easy access to Aria, Bellagio and Cosmopolitan. However, the pool area is not as it was and drastically needs a clean up. The sun loungers had seen better days. In fact some were so worn that you wouldn’t want to sit on them. The pool area didn’t open until 11am and that is an October thing. However, appeared the staff didn’t know this - the door was just locked and a queue formed. When I went to get a couple of towels for me and my partner I was told only one towel per person. I pointed over to my partner but was told he had to come and get one himself! Ten night stay - we only went to the pool twice; it was disappointing. One visit we made the mistake of ordering food at the pool. Nachos and guacamole and salsa. It turned up in a bag and was basically a container with nachos in and some ketchup! We had to ask for the guacamole and salsa - came out in two very small pots (see pic). Aside from that it was a lovely place to stay - looking a little tired in some areas. Don’t have the Fiji water left on the side - over $20 in price but the sign next to it makes it sound like complimentary. It’s nice to have a little kitchen in the room. Meant we could make our own coffee (you have to ask for cups and cutlery) and that was much better than using the Starbucks and the little shop downstairs. Read less
