Vdara Hotel & Spa at ARIA Las Vegas

The Strip, Las Vegas

The hotel

Designed for those who want to tap into the energy and excitement of Las Vegas but would prefer to enjoy it from an exclusive, non-gaming and smoke-free resort, Vdara is one of few hotels in Vegas not to house a casino. What you get instead is a cosmopolitan, all-suite hotel that feels blissfully private despite being in the heart of the action. The cutting-edge pool is surrounded by private retreats, semi-private plunge pools and cabanas; there’s a world-class spa, and you are a few short minutes away from a dizzying range of dining, shopping and entertainment options, so you’ll never be short of things to do. The Vdara really is an oasis in the desert.

My wife and I took advantage of reduced rates due to being an M Life Rewards member. We stayed during Labor day weekend. Our first room was not clean and once the night housekeeper confirmed this and told management the cleanliness did not meet Vdara's standards we were moved to a different room. Management comped all our resort fees for the stay which was awesome and much appreciated. The bed was okay. The view was unbelievable. There was not any silverware or dinnerware available to properly use the kitchen. Bathroom was awesome. A huge downside was the Spa and fitness center was not available due to COVID19. We were told we could use Aria's but then we attempted to do this we were told there was limited availability for hotel guests. Pool was refreshing and utilized each day. The pool was also on a capacity limit due to virus. It was nice to see security checking for room keys prior to elevator access. We did not see or experience any of the shenanigans that has been posted on social media while in Las Vegas. Read less

Dog park is convenient and well kept. Cons - Our room smelled HORRIBLE upon arrival, we had to leave so they could deodorize and it still couldn’t get the smell out. It takes a long time to get front desk or housekeeping, extremely long hold times of 5+ min. Pullout couch is a bit and very uncomfortable. Rooms are kind of worn, holes in sheets, stains on carpet. Scuffs all over furniture and walls. We stayed here through air bnb rental. Will unfortunately be the last time. Read less

I would certainly stay here again. Read less

What may have once been an excellent hotel is definitely feeling the impact of staffing shortages. As Las Vegas locals we wanted a nice staycation to celebrate our first wedding anniversary but in the future will probably opt for another hotel given our mediocre time here. We checked in at 3:30pm but our room wasn’t ready, so they gave us a $50 food and bev credit and took our phone number to call us when the room was ready. 4 hours later and no call, we returned hoping the room was ready, which fortunately it was. Despite being M life members we had to queue up in the regular line. The receptionist apologized for the lack of a phone call and inconvenience and once again offered another $50 in food and bev credit. At this point it was 7:30pm and their only place open was the market cafe which closed at 8pm, so the credit was marginally helpful. What’s more is the bell desk where we had dropped our bags off was closed, so when we called to have our bags delivered (approximately 7:45pm) we were told we had to return to the front desk and collect our bags ourselves, which is pretty surprising that a 5 star hotel wouldn’t have this service until at least 10pm. Then finally when we checked out it seems the second $50 credit was not applied, but the receptionist took the remainder (our breakfast) off the tab except for tips. The room itself seemed clean and included a nice pack of large face masks, hand sanitizer and bottle openers, but there was a giant bag of linens left outside our door which again, is just not something we would expect from a 5 star establishment, but perhaps when they fix all the staffing issues it may be better. If looking for an exceptional experience, I’d go somewhere else. Read less
