Newly renovated old school hotel at the north end of the Strip. It used to be a classic hotel where Elvis and Sinatra performed. They kept some of the old features like the solid brass doors. Commons grounds are great. The adult pool is nice with a cool vibe with loundgy music. Rooms are well decorated and clean. The bathroom is missing hooks to hang towels. The restaurants are great and offers a good variety. Don't good to the gift Shop but instead go to Walgreens across the street. Much cheaper. There was one big issue but it was handelded well. For 2 days, because of a broken water main, the was no water for hours at a time. It was annoying but not the hoteles fault. They gave us a free cabana at the pool, waived our resort fees and gave us a breakfast sándwich with other snacks. Thank you. If you want a quiet renovated hotel with good value near the monorail, this is the place. Read less

A fine hotel that would have been five stars save for a couple of things. First, the upside. Apparently recently renovated, the hotel looks nearly new. The rooms and common areas are comfortable with good quality furnishings and very well maintained. The staff without exception was friendly, well informed and professional. Didn’t try all the restaurants but those we did try offered good service and quality food. The prices were similar to those elsewhere - generally high. A problem that may bite Vegas in general if they aren’t careful. The Sahara is the northernmost stop on the monorail which allows easy access to explore the strip. Now a few qualifiers. The adults-only pool was great with huge screens, bar service, and a generally upbeat atmosphere. Lots of recliners for sunbathing. The other rooftop pool where you could take your kids was an embarrassment. No service. No towels. Generally dirty with the fabric chaise lounges in the shaded areas falling apart. Even the pool bottom was slimey. Throughout our stay, some of the elevators in our tower were out of service including on checkout morning when all but two elevators were inoperable. The alternative choices were to wait 15 minutes or more or take the stairs. Not fun particularly if you are hauling your luggage down 20 floors. Finally, if you think you have prepaid your room, you might be shocked to find a sizeable bill waiting for you at checkout. This was called a “resort fee” or some such thing and is charged for every room night at every hotel in Vegas. An Uber driver told us that it was to pay for their new football stadium. One wonders what the $500 you paid for a seat at the football game was going to be used for. Read less

Firstly don't stay in this hotel if you want to be bang in the middle of Vegas..it is out of the way. Do stay here if you want a great value recently refurbished to a high standard hotel though, the monorail at around $5 and a few minutes links it brilliantly to the centre of Vegas and is a short walk from the back of the hotel having its own stop and unlike some of the other stops on the monorail Saharas isn't miles to walk from the hotel to get too. The hotel has two pools one rooftop quieter pool that has a great view of the strat and downtown and shade areas to get out of the sweltering sun but still enjoy the outdoors, the bars in the casino are good as well as a decent diner for a nice breakfast. The surrounding area as well reported is not great but nowhere near as bad as some people make out , all tho not advisable we walked to and from downtown but it's only a short cheap uber away. The new arts district which Vegas are promoting is on Main Steet and that starts just over the road by the Strat its about a 10min walk to a great new strip of bars. Id definitely stay in the Sahara again and have stayed in many hotels in Vegas Read less
