The LINQ Hotel + Experience

The Strip, Las Vegas

Virgin rating

The hotel

Well-connected, the name lets slip the hotel’s ‘link’ to extra food, fun and frivolity. The guestrooms are hip and high-tech, but you won’t be there much with the LINQ’s endless diversions. The centrepiece is the High Roller – the world’s tallest observation wheel, at 550-ft high it takes 30 minutes to do the full loop. You’re also ‘linked’ to an exclusive shopping, entertainment and dining promenade. And, of course, the all-essential Vegas casino. Over 21s can enjoy the pool, with nightly swims twice a week, Champagne Sundays and pool deck misting. Then there are the other decadences: the Brooklyn Bowl, a massive bowling and live music venue, and endless dining and drinking establishments, including 24-hour Hash House A Go Go, whose colossal portions featured on ‘Man v Food’.

I'm not a fancy hotel person , but I do work at a fancy hotel , the Bellagio. So , I know the Linq is not in the same class which is fine for me. I had 2 Comp Nights through Caesar's Rewards and decided to take a Staycation. I normally don't do the tourist thing on the Strip since I work on the Strip and usually only go there when friends come to visit. I could have stayed at the Horseshoe , but chose the Linq due to the Prominade and surrounding things like the Carnival Court for Live Bands. My room was a King Bed Deluxe Room District 3. The Resort Fee was $46.00 a night , the Bellagio is $50.00 a night ! I think it should be more like $35 honestly for what amenities are here , especially the pool area is tiny. My room was small , but was big enough for me. It did come with a small refrigerator instead of a mini bar full of stuff , but the refrigerator was barely cold and I lowered the temperature and got a bucket of ice to put in it so I could chill my waters and sodas I brought. It also had a small coffee maker with one regular and one decaf packet. A lot of Strip casinos don't have a coffee maker unless you have a Suite and they want you to go downstairs and go to Starbucks or somewhere like that. The bed was comfortable and came with 4 long pillows. The air conditioning worked well , but was the old wall mounted hotel ones from like the 60's. This of course use to be Imperial Palace back in the days if you didn't know. TV was decent size with lots of channels and movies available for rent. You could also access services through the TV which I thought was great. You don't have to call for a Bellman for your luggage , you can use the TV to do that , great idea. We don't have that at the Bellagio , but you can Checkout and View Your Bill on the TV. You can even rent Board Games on the TV and get Housekeeping. The Pool was such a disappointment ! Small pool that looked like it was only 4 feet deep with games on the side. They also had another one that you sat in that I thought was going to be a jacuzzi , but it wasn't. They had a bar and a DJ booth and Cabanas available to rent. A small Pina Colada was $28 , but on the Strip you could get one of those 32 ounce bottle ones for $19. I wanted to buy one at the Purple Zebra by the elevators , but it was always closed except once I saw it open and when I came back a couple hours later it was closed again ! I had to go to the Prominade to buy one. I also went to O'Sheas and got the famous Frozen Bailey's which was very rich , almost too rich. The video poker machines at the bar were very very old and hard to see. Speaking of the gaming , lots and lots of the Reels Machines , but hardly any Video Poker except at the bars. I did finally find a couple near the Cashier Cage. My view was horrible. I was in room 20120 which was facing the other building to the left and front and to the right was another building. No view of the Sphere or barely any sky. Oh well I wasn't there for the view. The bathroom was clean and modern and the shower head was great with good pressure. Their was no little bottles of shampoos and soaps , but instead pump dispensers mounted on the wall. The shampoo , conditioner , and body soap smelled of a weird mango smell. But again it worked just fine. I wanted to stay at another Caesar's property , but it wasn't available. Honestly this would work for someone on a budget that wants a clean decent place to stay. I personally would pick another property myself. I did find out that I could have used the pool at the Flamingo which was super cool. I checked it out my last day. Read less

Service meh, games not good,ok location, pool area not impressed. Pool music was hardto talk over and zero shade. but, hash hash a go go was good and out waiter great. Rooms were not very clean. Dust and trash under chairs in room. If it was the cheapest hotel near some good casinos would maybe consider again.

The room was disgusting. They refused to move us and argued when we requested housekeeping. They stated we declined upon check in, however, that was prior to seeing how filthy the room was. The location is central. Staff were less than helpful. I have stayed in 6 other hotels on the strip this was by far the worst
