This place is beautiful. Set atop a hill in front of a mountain, the location is superb. I can't say enough about the hotel or the staff. Everything was perfect. The food was excellent. The hotel was immaculate and the view was the best. Overall, the best trip to North Conway we ever had.

We had the most amazing weekend wedding here, last weekend. Carol and the rest of the staff were amazing and very accommodating. My husband and I stayed in the Presidential Suite. We were able to entertain guests and comfortably fit 25 people for drinks, snacks and socializing. The room views were amazing, so pretty. The weather was hot, but the Air Conditioning was cold. There was a nice refrigerator, wet bar and shelves to stock with bar items from home. The bed was comfortable and there was even a pull out sofa with a very nice mattress. The room was huge and so comfortable. The wedding party were all staying on site, which made it very easy to pull people together in one space, when needed. Now for the wedding. If you are looking for a wedding venue, this is the place. Carol was the best! She was efficient, full of knowledge and very professional. Carol stayed in touch with the bride and groom all along the way, but she also made herself available to me. I was planning the décor for the event, she was so helpful in recommending set up options, packages and was the one who originally shared the details of the Mt. Washington Suite which is the bridal suite, as well as the Presidential Suite and all of their amenities. I showed up on Friday with all of my supplies and decor, and the hotel took care of everything. They did ask for simple instructions, which I was happy to provide. When finishing the overview of the theme and different elements, I ended with, I trust you, I know you will make it beautiful. And boy was I right! When I walked into the Echo Ballroom the next day, I couldn't believe my eyes. Carol and her team had done an amazing job with the set up. Okay so what about packing it all up? Well... Carol and her team took care of everything. They boxed up all of my décor and all I needed to do was get it into the truck. Finally let's talk about the food. You are probably thinking, okay something had to have gone wrong. NOPE not a single complaint only glowing reviews of the food too. We had the standard breakfast in the Ledges. Homemade toast, delicious omelets and coffee what more could you ask for. We did have a cocktail hour with appetizers that included steak teriyaki, scallops wrapped in bacon and caprese skewers. Dinner started with chili, salad, filet mignon and finally dessert. The bartender was friendly and knowledgeable and the wait staff were incredible. Thank you WMH we will be back! Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Nice rooms, but poor attention to detail

Pros: Rooms were nicely updated, and are some of the best in this area. Cons: Paid for a Mountain View room, got side view of the hotel. If that is a Mountain View room, they should not charge extra for it. They put a family with young kids on the 3rd floor above our room. If that is a Mountain View room, they should not charge extra for it. They put a family with young kids on the 3rd floor above our room. Every morning around 6am, jumping running, etc. Not great for a couples getaway. I get that kids wake up early, so why would hotel staff put them on the top floor to wake everyone else up? First day we left our room at 10:30 am. No housekeeping that day. I guess 10:30 is considered too late? The attention to detail in these things were disappointing. Final night, smoke alarm (luckily false alarm) goes off at 6am. No explanation. And then the bang, bang, bang, jumping and running starts as the kids upstairs are awake. Nice hotel but the lack of attention to detail will prevent us from coming back. This is WHY people stay at rental homes in MWV and not hotels. Read less

My son woke up with bites in a trail down his neck and only his neck. Staff tried to say it was mosquito or black fly bites but neither insect makes bites of this nature, we are from Maine and deal with both all the time. I showed the staff the bites and they continued to brush it off stating the hotel was recently renovated so it couldn’t be. It would only take one prior guest to infest a room so again, I felt we were being brushed off and the possible problem was swept under the rug. I have emailed the hotel upon arriving home, including photos of the string of bites, trying to give the benefit of the doubt that perhaps it was just that one staff member that didn’t want to address it but I have not heard back. We have never dealt with bed bugs before so I was left to sit in the parking lot and google what the heck to do next to try to avoid bringing them into our home. We have stayed at another property before, the grand, and loved it. No way we would return here.. acknowledging these things happen…. but the lack of assistance and acknowledgment from the staff was baffling. Also, the pool was loaded with debris the night of arrival but I wrote it off assuming people had been in and out all day but we went for a swim in the morning and the entire surface was loaded with bugs. I contacted the front desk to let them know and ask if someone skims the pool in the morning and she insisted they did but the bugs are so bad it can’t be helped. I am sure this is tricky for them but we were at the pool only an hour after it opened… there’s no way the bottom of the pool collected that much debris in an hour and that many bugs got in the pool in an hour. This was a major setback as well, as we had primarily rented the room to go swimming with the surprise 85 degree weekend. It was not usable the second day. The “new” beds they supposedly have are also hard as a rock. Read less
