If you can't relax here you can't relax. Beautiful scenic location beneath Cathedral Ledge. On site 9 hole golf course. Easy access to hiking trails and Echo Lake. Superior service. Sit by the pool with great views and make some s'mores at the firepit when the sun goes down

A great resort for everyone! The hotel common rooms and guest rooms are clean. The pool and recreation areas are well kept as well. We've coming here with our children for many years. Also great for a couples weekend getaway.

We were slated to stay here tonight, we booked the room about a month ago, and spoke to the front desk a couple of different times regarding our small 20lb dog. They require the rabies certificate, which is no problem, so we chatted a couple different times about who and where to send that. Last night, prior to what we thought was our stay, we called the hotel to see when we could check in, because we had booked one of their advertised activities which we couldn't bring the dog too. We were informed that dogs are not allowed to be in a room by themselves, unless you are on property. Fortunately they refunded our stay and we were able to book at The Hampton Inn, which is much more pet friendly, and flexible. Bummer. I was really looking forward to our stay here, it seemed like such a perfect place to be during the summer. The hotel should really disclose this contingency on their website, it seems irresponsible to let guests book non refundable stays and then hold them to a pet policy as such. Read less

We stayed at WMH&R this past week. We cannot say enough about the professional courtesies extended to us ALL - including to our dog who received his own welcome pack upon his stay (see photo below)! The setting is beautifully situated below Cathedral Ledge. We spent a lot of morning time watching the climbers of that terrain from the Adirondack chairs on the lawn with our complimentary coffee/tea! The hotel is clean and quaint - while the decor may need some updating, we felt it added to the charm of the resort! For us, we noted the courteousness and ease of pace at this hotel! Everyone was just so kind and accommodating: from reception, to sports, to cleaning, and general grounds! There was much for the children to do: basketball, swimming, pickle ball, golf and hiking. We were also centrally located to our day outings: Saco River, Diana’s Bath, the Flume and Gorge, and Mount Washington. I also wish to applaud all hostesses, wait and bar staff of Ledges restaurant! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was casually sophisticated and the views, drinks, and piano entertainment were plentiful! We could have eaten anywhere, but we always came back to eat at the resort when our schedule allowed! We will be back to the WMH&R and highly recommend this wonderful hotel! Read less
