The hotel

There’s more than a ‘nod to nature’ at 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge – it’s eco-friendly to its very core, from your room’s organic bedding to the nature-inspired children’s activities, daily Lobby Farmstand, use of reclaimed barn wood, and local artisanal products at the picnic-style restaurant. Style doesn’t suffer for sustainability, with features like corrugated leather headboards, gritty blackened steel, crate-style slatted closets, and a pop-up beer garden all giving the hotel a cool and contemporary edge. And they haven’t sacrificed those urban hotel essentials either, so you get complimentary WiFi, the Bamford Haybarn Spa, and a free shuttle into Manhattan (in a Tesla electric vehicle naturally) – although you could just stroll over nearby Brooklyn Bridge instead. But it’s the social buzz and views that make this place special, with the best enjoyed while sipping handcrafted cocktails on the rooftop pool terrace.

Cocktails were EXCELLENT. Bar service was lovely! When I left the bar I had three cocktails in my hand and the checkin ladies helped me get the elevator and even pushed that floor I was going to- they were so sweet! The door guys were amazing and always helped when we had full hands. Everybody at this hotel was truly lovely. Room was spacious and felt so comfy. 10/10 will return. Read less

I took my mom on month-long vacation in Europe and we flew from CA to NY first, to break up the flight time from the US. I chose the 1Hotel Brooklyn Bridge because we wanted a newly opened 5-star hotel, but didn't want to spend a fortune to stay in a tiny, overly perfumed room in the middle of the noisy dirty city. The 1HBB fit the bill, with it's spacious rooms, modern design and organic feel. Plenty of plants no perfume! The whole area around the hotel is newly renovated too, and the views of the bridge and park are spectacular from all around the property. Surprisingly, after going from one luxury 5-star resort to another for almost 4 weeks around the Alps, we both couldn't wait to back to Brooklyn and stay at the 1HBB on our return to CA. It was our favorite hotel of the entire trip! The very best part of the stay was the staff! These people are amazing. The manager Sarah really made us feel special. JD the concierge hooked us up with everything we wanted and is adorable. Yorse the bellman (although he seemed to do a bit of everything and was always there when you needed something) was a godsend. Almost like having a personal assistant! Elex on the rooftop is not only gorgeous but such a sweetheart! We fell in love with this place for the people. Read less
