The hotel

There’s more than a ‘nod to nature’ at 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge – it’s eco-friendly to its very core, from your room’s organic bedding to the nature-inspired children’s activities, daily Lobby Farmstand, use of reclaimed barn wood, and local artisanal products at the picnic-style restaurant. Style doesn’t suffer for sustainability, with features like corrugated leather headboards, gritty blackened steel, crate-style slatted closets, and a pop-up beer garden all giving the hotel a cool and contemporary edge. And they haven’t sacrificed those urban hotel essentials either, so you get complimentary WiFi, the Bamford Haybarn Spa, and a free shuttle into Manhattan (in a Tesla electric vehicle naturally) – although you could just stroll over nearby Brooklyn Bridge instead. But it’s the social buzz and views that make this place special, with the best enjoyed while sipping handcrafted cocktails on the rooftop pool terrace.

I waited a few mins, there was no one. Annoyed, I made my way inside with all of hotel patrons started offering to help me (and waited with me during check in so that they could continue to help) before hotel staff appeared. I was very annoyed at this point, but of course, accepted the help. Luckily, the next day, staff was extremely helpful! They brought up whatever I needed quickly and kindly, and when it was time to leave, I had wonderful help from staff (particularly DK!). I don’t know if what I experienced the first day was a fluke or a staffing issue, but I was really upset about the initial experience. Very happy that it turned around. Read less

I recently stayed at the Brooklyn Bridge property with my family for a staycation. The outstanding service and amenities is really only match by the views. One thing worth noting is that the pool is actually a proper size pool. If you haven’t stayed in New York City hotel before, you couldn’t be blamed for thinking that pool is just a pool until you get there and see it’s more like a glorified bathtub. In the case of 1-hotel, not only do you have a sufficiently sized swimming pool for all of the guests, but you have it adjacent to some of the best views in New York City. My hats off to Murat, Zen, Alejandro and the rest of the rooftop staff. I hope to see you again soon! Read less

My friends and I stayed at the 1 and we had an amazing time. Staff was so friendly, especially the director Murat. Food and drinks were wonderful and the whole earthy vibe as well. The sustainability of the hotel is a huge plus. Can’t wait to come back.

Hotels in New York are either a miss or a hit. The one hotel is in a league of its own with the warmth of the staff. You feel your at home not at an hotel, truly incredible and the food is amazing.
