First location! Best location for everything! Shopping, grand central station, Bryant park chilling, Times Square, Broadway - everything with 10mins walk! Check in - efficient and staff friendly! Room size and design is stylish. WiFi stable, rooms very clean. Highly recommend this hotel! It is now my only hotel when staying in NYC.

This was my first stay at the Andaz and things were generally pretty good. The staff was helpful and friendly, check-in was a breeze and the Andaz suite was spacious and gorgeous. As minor as this sounds, the lighting in the room - both the brightness and the controls - were absurdly disastrous. For example, there is not a light switch in the bathroom. Instead, you need to press a button on a non-illuminated panel around 10 feet to the right of the bathroom door. Said differently, if you need to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, first you need to find the panel (which, again, is not glowing or illuminated) and then head to the bathroom. Absolutely horrible, terrible, stupid design. And that's just one example. Once the lighting was fully engaged, it was still comically dim. This seems like a simple enough problem to solve but they have not done so. The Andaz hook of the complimentary minibar was a bit of a disappointment. Our Nespresso pods were not replenished and the snack(s) consisted of a bag of chips and bite sized chocolate. That said, the location is perfect and hotel a totally solid option in Midtown. I am a lifetime globalist and have been very loyal to Hyatt over the years, YTD I have over 90 Hyatt nights. It is examples like the one below which reiterates why I am so loyal to Hyatt!! I was flying out of LGA on Thursday 7/11 and unfortunately my flight was cxled. It happens, but is always a frustrating experience when going thru it and trying to get reconfirmed on another flight the next day. I really wanted to get back to Chicago as my b-day was on 7/12 and we had plans with family and friends. I called the Hyatt Andaz as the Hyatt Place LGA and other Hyatt properties were sold out, and I needed both a room but also late check out since my flight on 7/12 was not till 5:00pm. I spoke with Isaiah Morris (Front Office Manager), who after clarifying how we would make the actual reservation Isaiah helped make this unfortunate situation a very positive experience!! When I arrived at the Hyatt Andaz, Isaiah greeted me and told me that he had upgraded me and sent me a very nice bottle of wine to help take the sting out of unexpectedly spending an additional night in NY. I was in a pretty poor mood upon arrival at the Hyatt, but again it is experiences like this that reiterates why I am so loyal to Hyatt. I had never met Isaiah previously, but his true professionalism, hospitality, and focus on the guest experience helped turn this United Airlines cancellation into a much appreciated experience at the Andaz 5th Avenue. Isaiah - Thank you for making this flight cancellation a very positive experience at the Hyatt Andaz 5th Avenue!! Read less

I have stayed at this Hyatt Corp's Andaz property on 5th Ave-41st NYC for half a dozen times. Now I want to write something down. Rooms and interior design at large are definitely edgy and contemporary, making you wonder a master designer left his marks here. Room is spacious, and lots of room choices including suite choices depending on you wanting to spend 200 or 900 or in anywhere in between. Bathroom is the best of all, downside might be that I tend to stick in the room and spend endless time in showers by forgetting about the hustle and bustle of Big Apple. Food is also what Andaz can leave you a mark. The restaurant used to be on the ground floor with windows facing 5th Ave and 41st st. Now the restaurant and bar is at the downstairs or basement level so it might be indeed hidden, but a hidden gem. Food is innovative, and perhaps international. I had a chicken schnitzsel ( gosh I can not spell this word) kind of like Austrian or German dish, but wow very good. Wine and cocktail selections are great too. All other aspects about the hotel like staff, service, complimentary coffee/wine/snack (in suites only?) and location are right on. All in all, if you know Andaz in general you will like this Andaz and it is very top-notch. It is New York there are a ton of great hotels, but this Andaz is top five top eight percent. It is also in the eyes of the beholders... Read less

Great location, wonderful and unique hotel with excellent service. Little touches make your stay feel more like home - for example, making water available to guests in the lobby and the happy hour free wine. Clean rooms, cool decor.
