Set in an historic 1916 building, in the heart of Midtown Manhattan, the ANdAZ 5th Avenue prides itself on delivering the highest standard of service you’ll find anywhere in New York. Even at check-in, guests are offered complimentary coffee and wine before being shown to their room, all of which feel luxuriously oversized with 12-foot ceilings, massive windows and spacious marble bathrooms outfitted with double vanities, a porcelain foot bath, and an oversized rain shower. A few steps from the hotel, you will find Bryant Park, New York Public Library, Empire State Building, Time Square and many other iconic New York attractions. In the fashionable Bryant Park area, everything is easily accessible on foot, including many excellent restaurants but when it comes to dining, look no further than The Shop. Fast becoming a favourite with locals, Executive Chef Daniel Mowles takes guests on a culinary journey that explores local foods in each bite. The Bar Downstairs is another popular resting place, with communal tables, seasonal cocktails and delicious tapas plates for sharing. For the body conscious, the complimentary gym is open 24-hours, there’s 24-hour room service and a concierge to hand every hour of the day too – very fitting for a city that never sleeps! Convenient location. Very dark rooms with almost no lighting. Too cool for school. Large shower with horrible controls. Now shower door so water sprayed everywhere. Service was mediocre at best. Poor value.

This was our fourth time at the Andaz 5th Avenue over MLK weekend. We were in NYC for a Broadway play and what's nice about this hotel and location is that you are walking distance to Times Square but not IN Times Square. The hotel is chic and well appointed what to be expected from a Andaz. What sets this apart if the service. We got there around 11:30 on a Saturday and they were able to check us into a room. The rooms are nice, only complaint is that open cube/closet isn't the most practical. I would to have some coat hook, coat rack etc. The bathroom is beautiful as are the ammenties. What really set this apart though was the service. My partner left a necklace I gave him in the room and housekeeping the next day reached out and arranged for it to be shipped to our house. Its a small necklace and it could have easily been overlooked. The attention to detail, follow through and customer service we experienced including them Fedexing to us was exceptional. This hotel is a great choice for Mid-Town. Read less

I stayed here for a business conference. I was very pleased with the property and the experience. My room was on the top floor with a balcony. It was BEAUTIFUL! We had prepared meals each day which were delicious. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Staying here three nights (Feb 1-4). Just ho-hum. The "wine hour" in the lobby isn't there unless you track down the front desk staff, who will go unlock the hidden stash and pour a cup. The problem is that she's so busy with checkins you have to bother her to go beg for it. Disappointing as I've been happy to buy wine and drinks at brunch but can't get a glass at the happy hour which is supposed to be an Andaz signature trait. No upgrade for globalist on a three night stay (with a very late check in the first night), though I see one guy who is ticked off by the long wait for check in right now (7:20pm) is upgraded to a suite for his one night stay, so that's good. Not trying to be negative. On the plus side the room is clean and as others have said room reasonable size. Staff have been friendly. But this place doesn't have a "cool" Andaz vibe in my opinion. If I change my overall view after I check out I'll update this. Read less
