After a handful of stays at this property, I have come to the conclusion that the hotel is positioned incorrectly in the market. This is reminiscent of the Casa Marina (Key West) being marketed under the Waldorf Astoria brand in Hilton's zeal to expand the brand. It was crucified in the reviews because it just didn't live up to customer expectations. Now that it's part of Hilton's Curio collection, it seems to be doing much better. The Conrad Midtown has some lovely rooms and is in a good location, but service and attention to detail are lacking for it to be positioned as a luxury hotel. We spent the weekend at the Conrad and paid a little over $900 a night for a one-bedroom suite. Upon arrival, there were plenty of staff in the lobby, but not one made contact with us. We were simply left to wander over to the front desk for a ten-minute wait to check-in. The room itself was as we had experienced in the past (very nice and spacious), but for a luxury hotel, it lacks certain elements. There are no bathrobes or slippers. There is no nightly turndown service. There is no morning newspaper delivery (or even available other than electronically). The bath products, Aromatherapy Associates, are a Chinese-made generic product. At least the Shanghai Tang products of the past were a notch up. Other hotels in the area such as the Park Hyatt and Plaza use LeLabo. The bath towels are comparable to what you would find at a Holiday Inn. Then there's the Conrad Teddy Bear, which we have been collecting from other Conrads, but was told that it's been discontinued by your front desk staff. Can't you afford a $10 Teddy Bear that generates goodwill? In terms of the restaurant, Dabble, during our previous stay, we dined there for dinner, and found it to be subpar by NY Standards, but none-the-less respectable. Accordingly, due to a little morning rain, we opted for breakfast at the hotel during this stay. What a highly disappointing choice. Take note of the attached photo of the $25 pancakes I had. No garnish, no powder sugar, no presentation. Just three tiny pancakes that had me wanting a snack a half hour later. Our breakfast for two came to a little under $100. We truly want to love the Conrad, but for the price, the competition outshines you in service and attention to detail. Read less

There is literally nothing bad I can say about this hotel. The door staff were lovely and welcoming, the lobby is impeccably clean, the check-in experience was fast and smooth. But the suite's, they were something else. Honestly, they were bigger than some entire New York apartments! The bed's were extremely comfortable and the pillow's, wow, I can't remember when I last had such a great nights sleep. My mother booked this holiday as a holiday of a lifetime for her 70th birthday (delayed 2 years due to Covid) for her, myself and my partner and I have to say, the hotel was immaculately clean, the rooms beautifully decorated, large bathroom with gorgeous large shower. The restaurant served great breakfasts, never had an evening meal on this visit, but we shall on our next visit when we can arrange it. In short, if you want a luxurious hotel stay in the heart of Manhattan, minutes from the subway and Central Park, the Conrad is the place to stay. Read less

Gracious staff, beautiful & comfortable rooms. Peloton in exercise room. Easy location to shopping and attractions. Nice cafe for breakfast or lunch. A nice bar area would be a plus. Amnesties included: doorman, room service, evening housekeeping & turndown with waters.

Location. Great. Rooms. Big suites comfortable. Good Service. Terrible. You have to ask them three times the same thing when you call. They left our room completely open after cleaning it. They dont answer the phone on the lobby. They don't have the right attitude
