I was in New York with four friends and this was one of the few hotels in Manhattan that would allow 5 people in one room at a semi-reasonable price. I checked in a day earlier using the Marriott app, and as an elite member they almost immediately authorized my late checkout request. As I was partly in NYC for business I had rented a car. Finding a temporary space in front was really hard due to construction work and the number of taxis and ride share vehicles. The hotel doesn’t have its own parking, but shares a private parking garage around the corner. Some instruction to park there on arrival would have saved me some time. Check in was pretty standard, although I did note after that they did not confirm what I wanted as my welcome benefit. Also, as I was checking in the front desk offered me water, which is great, but I didn’t have enough hands to carry water for 5 people. She said I could pick it up anytime later, but when I did, the staff had changed over and gave me a hard time about it, which didn’t feel great. We got to our room, and it looks pretty much like the posted pictures. It was a very reasonable size for 5 people, and never felt tight. Beds were comfortable, room was clean, WiFi worked well, so no issues with the room. In-room safe was one of the biggest I’ve seen. The common area is actually on the 12th floor, and was generally quiet. A large space to sit down and socialize. The gym was on the same floor - average size with a few cardio machines and free weights. One of the key highlights of this hotel is its location. Easy to get to a lot of attractions by walking or using the metro. Overall, a good stay. One of the more reasonable priced hotels, I was happy with the hotel and would consider returning. Read less

Great service at the Courtyard Midtown East. Especially from Perfect in housekeeping, who was busy keeping the fitness center clean and stocked with fresh towels, bringing any amenities you needed and being overall pleasant and helpful.

Hotel is good value and close to Hudson Yards. Beds have less support than I like and pillows a bit hard. Noise from the street is evident but this is all over NY. Rooms were super clean. Sinks a bit small in the bathroom. I did not try the restaurant. Whole Foods is convenient 1.5 blocks away. Small fridge in the room and a tiny… Read more

“I love NY in June, how about you??? “My wife and I love Manhattan, New York. We love the theater, great restaurants, history, music, museums and just plain walking there. So, you ask, what is our favorite NY Hotel to stay in? Well for over 20 years we have stayed at the New York Marriott Midtown Courtyard and it’s our NY home. The staff is friendly and welcoming, the rooms are spacious and comfortable. It has an excellent coffee shop and breakfast bar. But what do you love about it, you say? Well, the Marriott Courtyard East is located in an East side neighborhood filled with fabulous restaurants within walking distance. It is a quiet neighborhood and largely residential. So, staying at the Courtyard East feels like home. Other than a wonderful area to stay, what else does it offer? It’s a great location to catch mass transit allowing you to get anywhere in NY. But the best part is the view. You see this Courtyard is like none other. Because it is a glass building the view from any room is like a picture postcard of Manhattan! No matter what direction you face you will be mesmerized by the view of Manhattan. We leave our shades up and love the view while watching TV as the day comes to a close. We are immersed in the view. Whether we see the East River, the UN or just the skyline! We whole heartedly recommend this hidden gem of a hotel In Manhattan. Try it. You won’t be sorry! Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Top tier of midrange hotels. Clean, excellent location.

Hotel is super friendly, clean, and its the most convenient location. Take one of the top floors, there is almost no noise. The rooms are spacious, bathroom excellent. The only thing was a bit small double beds - but again, maybe I'm too used to my huge home beds :) Anyway, this is my 5th hotel in New York and it goes straight into top 2 (sharing… Read more

The only thing was a bit small double beds - but again, maybe I'm too used to my huge home beds :) Anyway, this is my 5th hotel in New York and it goes straight into top 2 (sharing the gold with The Renwick, but substantially better price). This is the top tier of midrange hotels. There is certainly room for improvement (slow wifi, for example) but overall its a great choice. And my new favourite. Next time in NYC, I will book this again. Read less
