The highlight of the hotel was a staff member named Carlos who helped us with bags, restaurant recommendations, directions and a ride in a comfy Suburban to the airport. Had it not have been for Carlos and the other gentleman taking bags (sorry not to know his name), my rating would have been lower, as we could not get into our room the first night until 5:30. Ridiculous waits for elevators. Thankful to be on the 5th floor so that we could have the option to walk, but still five floors. Read less

Pros and Cons. Hotel itself looks really smart, clean, big and modern. Daily housekeeping...no problem at all. Good (if not too good!) air conditioning...but was needed because the outside temperature was over 90 degrees every day we were there! We were on the 23rd floor and couldn't really fault it for the price, and the fact there are no resort fees (the main reason we booked it) Noticed a lack of hanging space though...the room was on the smaller side with the huge bed taking up most of the room. Surrounding area a bit grim, dirty and grimey...but that seems to be the case wherever you were in the city. Lots of people sleeping rough/homeless...but like I said, they're everywhere, not just in this area. Hotel restaurant on the first night because we arrived late and were hungry. The three of us waited over an hour for something that should have come out in 20 minutes tops. They were very apologetic, but we were just tired and hungry and didn't care for the excuses which came every 10 minutes...that was the first and last time we went there for dinner. Side note, try the Yard House restaurant....about a 10 minute walk from the hotel on the edge of Time's Square....best atmosphere, staff and food we had whilst there! It was AMAZING!! They couldn't do enough for you, and the food was absolutely delicious with loads of choice. I didn't eat breakfast in the hotel, but my other half and Daughter did whilst we were there...I was still miffed about dinner on the first night :D Breakfast is buffet style at a cost of $19 per person. They said it was really nice. Be careful if you use the 'Grab & Go' shop in the hotel...I was charged $7 (about £6) for a small bottle of Sprite! The shop also seems to be owned by the same people who own the restaurant...which I think is completely independent from the hotel. There is a little Spar type shop just a few doors up from the hotel...which has more choice and a bit more reasonably priced. Reception staff very unfriendly, standoffish and not helpful at all! One lady in particular who checked us in was extremely cold. Lifts - there are four large lifts at reception which service all 32 floors, we never had to wait very long...it does get busy in reception though...it's a very popular hotel. The lifts accommodate quite a lot of people, so you shouldn't be waiting long. the major selling points of this hotel I'd say would be the location...being an easy 10 minute walk from Time's Square and also the fact there are no resort fees...but you do still pay a $50 dollar per night (per room) charge....refundable upon checkout. Lastly, don't be afraid of using the Subway! We only started using it the day before we left and found it SO easy!...and cheap! We'd been racking up crazy steps and had really sore feet :( when we could have been using the Subway :D We used the Bellhop service offered by the hotel at checkout. They'll store your bags and arrange a taxi back to the airport for a flat fee. We were quoted $95, and it was $95 we paid. Remember to pay cash though! Because you'll pay extra if you want to use your card. Hope you enjoy yourself, it's an amazing place! There's a LOT going on...and can feel a bit overwhelming...but just go with it, and enjoy x Read less

While I wasn’t impressed with the hotel at all the representative Michelyn did everything she could to accommodate us. I would likely never stay here again and I am a HGV member and also love Hilton. This hotel just wasn’t up to par as the other properties .
