We had a kitchenette in our room which at times was very useful. The room was clean & tidy. Breakfast was good, not too much choice of hot items but what they did do they did well. Only moan was the lifts, not enough for the amount of people at popular times. One breakfast time they had an out of order on one lift so we opted to do the 10 floors by stairs 😳 All in all a good value hotel. Read less

There are bed bugs ALL over pillow tonight. We killed one yesterday and two tonight. Two had run away. They were too active to be caught. There are bed bugs ALL over pillow tonight. We killed one yesterday and two tonight. Two had run away. They were too active to be caught. Their bed bugs could be that big 5mm like an insect, That means they lives here long time. We had bought several dead bugs to front desk. We were deeply frightened by the terrible scene. Sleepless night… After browsing, we found that Elements already had bed bugs record since 2011 and 2017. Disaster Elements: a. We just meet another guest in front desk also claiming bed bugs. b. Front desk had No record of our bugs complaints made in midnight. C. And always reply no other room if we do not take the room you offered. But the lady in front of us just switched to another room. d. There were no water this morning in all top floors. Hotel keep delay in process refund. The lousy service manager had poor attitude to follow refund. Read less

Overall I was satisfied with my stay but I would add that this hotel is kind of a mixed bag. I stayed here four nights for work so spent little time in the hotel except to sleep. I was surprised how large the room was and that it came with a nearly full kitchen (large refrigerator, two burners, microwave, dishwasher and dishes). It also had a great closet with hanging space and drawers. Overall the room was a lot nicer (and maybe bigger) than some apartments I used to live in NYC. Two people could easily stay here. My room was clean and the hotel overall is pretty quiet (did not hear a lot of door slamming or hall noise). My room faced an air shaft, so also did not hear sirens/honking or other street noise. Location was fine for me. 2-3 blocks to many subways, but it’s Times Square so just very very crowded. The mid 30s-40s on the west side can be a bit seedy, but it was fine for me. I think the area has probably improved a bit in the last few years and felt safer than I expected. That said, like anywhere in NYC, be careful walking alone at night. That all said, there were some issues: The black out curtains in the room were ok but not great and let a lot of light through. The motor on the black out curtains constantly made some weird noises so I had to run the fan all the time for white noise. The phone beeped randomly so I had to unplug it. The bathroom has a motion light that turned on by itself so I had to keep the door shut at night to keep from being woken up. The elevator is slow and crowded so I mostly used the stairs. This is not my first choice hotel for NYC but in a pinch I’d stay here again since my primary criteria is to stay in a quiet hotel that I can sleep in. Read less

As this was my first time staying here, I was skeptical due to other reviews that mention the slow elevators and busy breakfast. I did not experience either problem. I checked in around 7pm on a Sunday and asked for a low floor to avoid the elevators. I was given room 301 but it faced the front of the building. I was worried this was going to be noisy given it was a low floor and street facing. I was told go check and if you hear anything, come back. Wow! I heard nothing!!! It was super quiet. The room was great and perfect for a few days in NY. The kitchen was super nice to have. For breakfast, there was never a problem with finding a seat nor was it too crowded. The breakfast is a little upgraded with plain yogurt that one can add toppings to. The staff were really fast at restocking the food and a nice guy came around to take any trash from my table. I will be back! Read less

This hotel is nearly 40 stories, served by 3 small elevators, one of which was out of order during my stay. My room was on the 20th floor. It took forever every time for an elevator to arrive, and half the time, once it did arrive, it was shoulder to shoulder full. I was late for dinner the first night because it literally took my between 15 and… Read more
