City View Rooms have sweeping views of New York's city skyline, with 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults.

Standard Studios are slightly larger at 385 sq ft and have 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults.

Studio City View are as above, but with views of the city, with 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults.

Everything was broken, this is not a Marriott experience! We walked down 22 flights for breakfast each morning because 2 of the 3 elevators did not work, water was off when we arrived and we were not told, and when it came on it spit brown water for 24 hours. Everything was broken, this is not a Marriott experience! We walked down 22 flights for breakfast each morning because 2 of the 3 elevators did not work, water was off when we arrived and we were not told, and when it came on it spit brown water for 24 hours. We came back to our room the first night and sat in the hall for over an hour while they tried to unlock our broken door, the other things are just visual, the bedframe, the broken bracket on the wall blocked by just placing a drawer in front of it…don’t stay here. As a loyal Marriott Bonvoy patron, this is the worst property I’ve ever stayed at. I booked a two night stay, but left after the first night to move to the Sheraton Times Square. The room had holes in the walls, and the room generally had a hostel-caliber feel to it.

I feel that it is necessary to express my feelings about this hotel. I am a native New Yorker but this time I chose to stay in a hotel in the city. Before my trip I read some reviews that weren’t very accurate. Firstly, the location is optimal. You are a walking distance from all landmarks. Secondly, the people working here are polite, friendly and helpful. There is a pleasant surprise every afternoon in the lobby. Sometimes there is popcorn and sometimes there is a snack buffet with cheese, crackers and something warm to eat. There is hot coffee and tea available all day long. I found this very hospitable. The rooms are quite large and there is a fully equipped kitchen. There is even a dish washer!!! What can I say. The Element Hotel has become my favourite place to stay in Manhattan. Definitely come. This is a decent hotel in midtown. The room was fine, but the lobby and breakfast area were very crowded. The breakfast area is not built out for the capacity of the hotel. Given all of the great choices nearby, I am unlikely to stay here again.

Overall a very nice boutique hotel - spacious room. A prime location between Penn Station and 42nd St. Really good buffet breakfast. Superb room rates. Friendly staff at front desk. Downsides are how crowded the 3 small elevators are at all times and long waits - 40 story building. Very crowded at breakfast also. Shower area could also use… Read more

Downsides are how crowded the 3 small elevators are at all times and long waits - 40 story building. Very crowded at breakfast also. Shower area could also use some fresh grouting. Rigid on check in time even though rooms are ready - they did give me a room 30 min early when I said I would not be back until late evening to avoid having my luggage left for that long which I appreciated.
