In case you are coming to the Penn station, this is a geographically good place. However, there is a huge room for improvement and logistics . First, COVID 19 changed the budget hotel concept. The hotel does NOT have enough cleaning service folks. The basic logistics are pretty poor. So, without any previous notes or complimentary agreement from the client, you have been suddenly places in a very DANGEROUS situation. Coming back after long working day in the city fully saturated by sick and unvaccinated people, you find yourself in an utterly low hygiene scenarios- towels are not changed, shampoo and soup bars not delivers, trash not cleaned, tea bags are not ready. So, the guest is not able to wash him/herself out. After the phone call to the lobby, you hearing back pretty weird vocabulary like: you are not qualified for the room cleaning and room service. My main Q to the administration is - am I qualified to GET SiCK, am I not qualified to wash myself down, am I not qualified to take a toilet and get a toilet paper , am I not qualified to wash my hands by a soup bar.? The price is utterly high, so this place is obviously over promised but underdelivered. Read less

We arrived early around 9:45am from the airport understanding that we wouldn’t be able to check in until 3 but wanted to store our luggage and let the hotel know we’d arrived . The African-American guy at the front desk was very short with us and didn’t give us a chance to say we knew we couldn’t check in early but just wanted to store our luggage until check in. Instead, he barked that we couldn’t check in until 3 and we felt rushed to hand him our luggage before getting out all we wanted to take out of the luggage for the day. When we arrived back at the hotel around 6 we were informed by the staff that our room was given away and our city view was not ready. We booked 8 nights for city room and it was extremely upsetting to have arrived at 9am, told we had to wait until after 3 to check in, arrive after 3 and then be told that we didn’t arrive early enough to get our pre-booked room we’d reserved 6 months before. Then, I don’t understand how it’s July 2021 and NYC is at 70% vaccinated and the hotel allows masks to be optional for guests and staff but yet there still is no horn breakfast or use of fitness center or rooftop. I can maybe understand keeping the fitness center closed but a rooftop bar that’s outside in the open air? Even if they kept the bar closed, access to the rooftop for photos would have been nice. I’m sure the security cameras show a string guests going up to the rooftop to catch a glimpse of the view. Honestly it feels like management is taking advantage of Covid to be lazy and not have to work. The pictures of the lobby did not match the actual. Disappointing. No full breakfast, no rooftop, no fitness center. All the good stuff they advertise as features in this hotel were absent. If I didn’t pay the equivalent a night as a budget hotel I would be even more livid. I would never spend more than $150 night for how this hotel is now. Housekeeping was every 3 days of your stay. Guests would store trash and dirty hotel towels in the hallway and I don’t blame them. A lot of trash and dirty towels build up during a visit and with housekeeping only every 3 days I’m sure the staff had double work when they finally got into the rooms. Lastly, beware of the marijuana smokers in the building and don’t keep your window open. Wafts right in. The carpets and air when the air condition came ion smelled musty and grungy. Carpets smelled as if they needed to be shampooed. This was my first trip to New York and it won’t be my last but my stay at this hotel will be. Read less

It is a great location being close to Penn Station and Hudson Yards. When we got to the room we had to clean the air conditioner filter. After that the room was cool. We requested a refrigerator for our room. They then gave it to us. The frozen orange juice served for breakfast was good after it thawed. The muffins were also ok. Hope they get the full breakfast back sometime. The rooftop bar was closed which I was aware of before I booked. At the conclusion of our trip we were allowed a late checkout. It was a great time and I would stay there again the next time I visit New York. Read less
