The hotel

Irish charm a-plenty is what you get at the Fitzpatrick Manhattan. You don’t have to come from the emerald isle, however, to enjoy the airy rooms, personal touches and Irish food. The Fitz is your very own place to enjoy some pub-grub, Ireland-style, and a pint of that famous black stuff. Just around the corner from Bloomingdales, Central Park on the doorstep, and St Patrick’s Cathedral nearby — it’s safe to say you’ll be in a fine location to get exploring in a New York minute.

The hotel's description on here says it is the perfect place to stay in Manhattan. That's not puffing - it IS the perfect place to say. Warm & welcoming, beautifully appointed rooms, great service, clean, well-located only touches the service. I have not tried the restaurant, but the menu looks terrific. The bar is a comfortable place for a drink, or a meal. There's really not a lot to say other than I wish my trips would allow for me to stay here longer. Read less

Only two elevators so you may have to wait a bit. The small lobby bar/restaurant has decent food, attentive service and is usually quiet. The rooms are spacious but extremely stuffy and dark; feels dated and could use a refresh (example, carpet had an iron burn) I am from Florida and the room was stuffy and HOT in March with no heat on in the room, even though I could feel hot air blowing from the vents. Windows open to a dark inner courtyard surrounded by high rises, so I couldn’t leave a window open for fresh air. This is my second time staying for multiple nights here and both times had a different room on the 10th floor with the same issues (next time I will ask for another floor!). Overall, I would stay here again because of the friendly staff and would recommend if you have business in the area. Read less
