After reading reviews I was wondering what the hotel would be like, to the point I considered changing my hotel, but let me tell you there is absolutely nothing wrong with this hotel at all. It’s in a great location and my biggest concern was the report of people on drugs or drink loitering outside the hotel. There is a permanent police presence outside in a mobile unit. Yes I did see someone very drunk outside but you can get that in any doorway in New York, it’s a diverse city. I just walked past and made no big deal about it! The lady who checked us in was very welcoming and helpful and offered us a choice of rooms. I was travelling with my daughter and she said we could have one or two beds at no extra cost. We took a twin bedded room on the 22nd floor, there are 32 floors. The room had two amazingly comfortable beds with four pillows each. The pillows were a mix of firm and medium, absolutely lovely. The bathroom was modern and clean. The room wasn’t huge but everything we needed. Flat screen tv, fridge (albeit the fridge was too cold it froze our drinks!) coffee machine. We didn’t have enough towels but we just asked at reception and the lovely Mark gave us an armful. Nothing was too much trouble. There is a small wardrobe, safe, iron and ironing board. Plenty of plug sockets and a full length mirror and a desk. Very clean and just simply just right. To be honest what more do u need when visiting New York as such a busy tiring (in a good way) trip! No problem with the lifts, one day it was a bit slow but nothing major. Very helpful staff at reception, nothing too much to do. I do wonder that people that don’t get good service may be because it’s how they approach the staff! On our last day the lovely receptionist ordered us a taxi to the airport, it was so easy and organised. $75 in total including tips. I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay here again. I stayed at the Edison many years ago and this is far better. We met someone staying at the Edison this trip, sounds like it’s just as bad as it was years ago. Do not be concerned about staying at this hotel. I have very high standards at home and this was absolutely adequate! Thanks for a fab stay. Read less

Stayed here 1 night by Christmas due to having an expiring IHG free night certificate and looking for a hotel that had rooms that fit 4 ( vs most in NY that fit 2). This hotel is super convenient to everything in midtown, and easily walkable to MSG, Times Square, Rockefeller Center, etc. The room itself, while tiny (as expected as it is Manhattan), was relatively new and well taken care of. However, I didn't like that while it is a room for 4 people, they only left 2 bath towels (and no floor towel). In addition, the amount of soap/shampoo/conditioner left for a family of 4 was laughable. In addition, something of note is this hotel only has 2 elevators for 36 floors. Yes, there are times that will not be an issue, but I'd take extra time when checking out as anyone on a lower floor had no way to get to an elevator that was not full. In addition, the hotel asks for riders on the elevator to stay 6 feet away from others due to Covid, but that is next to impossible when there are only 2 elevators. Every elevator we took was packed full. Also, the area near the hotel does have a lot of garbage/homeless nearby, so expect that when staying there. All in all it's a convenient place to stay, but that's about it. Read less

The staff at the hotel were very helpful and courteous. In particular Mark ,Rocky and sheree, always went the extra mile. The hotel was very well placed to access the main sites, it was clean and tidy at all times. We would stay here again. Thank you.

My company booked this hotel for me for my first trip to NYC. First thing I'll say is all the staff from front desk, security, guards, housekeepers, and more were friendly and helpful. I can't sing their praises enough. Definitely highest of marks there! In reading some of the reviews about the entrance area, I was a little concerned. I stayed at this hotel for an entire week. I never felt unsafe. Yes, the entrance area is a public seating place and there were people sleeping on the benches at times, but that's just being in the city. I never saw any drug paraphernalia (there probably was some, but it wasn't blatant to me) and they cleaned that area regularly. The only disappointment I had was the hotel's restaurant is apparently closed, but nothing about that is mentioned online. When I travel for business I like having an onsite restaurant and bar that's convenient for me to work and relax without having to leave. I probably won't stay here again just because there are other hotels much closer to my office, but if I needed to be in the vicinity, I wouldn't mind it. Just remember, in NYC, rooms are small. That's every hotel. Read less

I was traveling by car from out of state with 3 teenagers with the plan to enjoy nyc. Upon arrival in learned there was no room available. A very nice woman at the desk was able to accommodate us at a nearby hotel but we were terribly inconvenienced. Room was booked and paid for for two nights , confirmed and checked in earlier in the day but in spite of this there was absolutely no attempt to contact me . No call, no text , no email. Because of this we were already parked in the parking garage and had to walked ( a cab was offered) 8-10 blocks each carrying all of our luggage. Unacceptable service! Also because this hotel is in Times Square the parking in the recommended garage was already done resulting in further cost and major inconvenience. When I notified the hotel I received a canned, generic response. Read less
