Hyatt Centric Times Square New York

Midtown, New York

Virgin rating

The hotel

In a city where it's all about location, nothing beats a stay in Manhattan's theatre district, moments from the most guidebook-worthy sights, shops, and dining. You can survey all that surrounds you from Bar 54. Fittingly named, it sits on the 54th floor of Hyatt Centric Times Square – making it the highest hotel rooftop lounge in the whole of NYC. It doesn't just give you magical Manhattan views though, it also delivers small plates, handcrafted cocktails, and unique seating in igloo-style bubbles. You can get a view on Manhattan from your guest room too, with its floor-to-ceiling windows sure to distract from the complimentary Wi-Fi. When you're not staring at or exploring the city, the hotel's also home to Times Square's only full-service spa.

Room is very comfortable, contemporary, great bed and pillows, super quiet given Times Square location. I am confused how a 350 sq foot room did not have room for a chair other than the desk chair which is my only complaint. Bruno outside was a huge help getting me to the airport as my arranged ride was late and I had zero time to spare. Everyone at the front desk was very friendly and stored my luggage quickly and efficiently while I was at a play. I look forward to coming back. The location is superb and slightly away from the chaos of Times Square though right in the center of things. Read less

Lovely rooms, high ceilings and good design features for business travel. Good work space and multi plug on hand. Not many rooms on each floor so feels much nicer than walking along long corridors to your room. I was on 48th floor which was also very quiet. A joy for New York.

Updated Review: I’d firstly like to thank the Hyatt for responding to me publicly here on TripAdvisor, however despite encouraging me to contact them via email and having sent two emails, they continue to evade contacting me. They also claimed to have refunded my money and it being blocked by my card provider. Having since contacted my provider, this is not the case and the money hasn’t been returned. My extended feedback again stresses on poor communication. If management read this I’d ask you to actually respond to my emails. Equally I’d encourage you to follow up privately to those that post these sorts of reviews. Original Review: For an advertised 4.5 star hotel it is certainly below par so we were immediately disappointed in the accommodation. On arrival we were advised that Bar 54 (rooftop) did not need to be booked. On going to the bar this was far from truthful and we were sat indoors at a table in the middle of the room. Not sure who they are offering rooftop bars to that want a middle of the room seat. The advertised views of Times Square is equally stretching the truth, it is merely a sliver of the iconic location when viewed through a small nook on the balcony. The room itself was clean and the maids were very nice. The reception staff were quite off putting when trying to upsell us on arrival and while very enthusiastic and polite during the sales pitch, instantly switched tones when the costly upgrade was declined. Worst of all, I have been charged a staggering $1,200 dollars as a security deposit for my stay, expecting this to be refunded upon my checkout. Many days later this has still not happened yet they have been quick enough to recover my rooms tab! I am now struggling to get ahold of anyone to discuss this issue. While my overall stay in New York was wonderful, I have been very disappointed by the overall experience offered by Hyatt Centric and would not recommend. Read less

This is the best hotel ever!! The experience was much better than I was expecting. I loved the staff, the environment, the service and the location. The room was great, clean and very comfortable. I will definitely book my next NYC visit there!
