They charge a “destination fee,” which is then supposed to be offset by a $20/day minibar allowance. However, our minibar was never fully stocked. In fact, it had some ranch dressing jammed in by the last folks to stay in the room, and this dressing was left for our entire stay. Also, the beer we took out was never replaced, and so the offset was just a joke. When I mentioned this to the front desk, I was told that some people don’t want the minibar restocked. So, that explains that, right? And as for the salad dressing jammed in there like it’s an extended stay, well, I guess they thought I might want a salad like the previous guest. There were other little things, like the fact that they still have laundry that suggests overnight service is available when, in fact, it is not. The hotel tries to maintain good service, and the room was clean, but with so few amenities at the usual capacity, this place is a bit of a disappointment. Read less

We arrived late at night (we called days in advance to let them know that our flight would be late). They gave us a low floor room but allowed another guest who had already switched rooms at least once before to get a room on the highest floor. A male employee came to try to assist us but the female front desk employee told him there were no more rooms available. They promised us a room change the following morning once there were checkouts. Thankfully we brought some blankets with us to sleep on. When we got to the room, my family was surprised at how dirty it was. Not sure if they’ve forgotten how to clean since so many businesses were closed during covid, but it was disgusting. Stains on the sheets/pillows, dust everywhere, stains on the wall, etc... My husband called the front desk immediately and whoever answered said she was aware we wanted a room change and thought that we were claiming the room was a mess to change the room. My husband explained that we knew there were no rooms available but wanted them to be aware. He took many photos and videos to show the front desk. The following morning he went back to the front desk before we left to go sightseeing. He showed them front desk employee the videos and pictures and she was disgusted (if hotel management would like to see photos, we’ll be more than happy to email them). She moved us to a different floor. The second room was cleaner, but there were still stains on the wall and bedspread. Luckily, my husband ran into a wonderful housekeeping attendant. We can’t remember her name but she was a lovely lady who switched the sheets for us and cleaned the room well. We do know she was from Mali and she was working on the 31st floor. She made the stay a little more bearable. Pros: The hotel was in a great location (we were able to walk around Times Square) and most of the employees were friendly. Cons: Very dirty room, and the front desk employee who was working the night of July 4th was far from hospitable (I think it’s important to note that she wasn’t wearing a name tag which surprised me as every other hotel I’ve been to requires employees to wear name tags). Great location, great stay. Our flight landed at 8:30 and we arrived to the hotel prior to 10 (hours before check in). When I inquired about leaving our bags with the bell staff until check in; the front desk took our information so we could receive a phone call as soon as a room was available. Great consideration and service. The location, as you already know is amazing. However, what you may not know is the front door is STEPS from the train station. Save some $$$$, buy a weekly NY Metro pass ($33) and use your map app to arrive from LaGuardia/JFK via metro train to this location AND to hang out around NY. I saw Daniel Radcliff on the train at like 2:00 am! The hotel also provided a $40 credit for the mini bar- $20 a day (but we had to pay $40 amenity fee when we left) lol.... unfortunately they never restocked our bar. Had I known I would be charged the fee I would have called about our fridge not being refilled but it wasn't a big deal. Sex Museum, Time Square, Broadway are just steps away - plus many more. They stay is also like 2 blocks way from the Amtrak station if you're arriving to NYC using that mode transportation. Read less

I had an amazing time at the Intercontinental this July 4th weekend. Check in was smooth, no wait. I found parking right around the corner. I had a room on the 32nd floor with a nice view and the room layout was luxe and the room looked clean. The location was near to Bryant park and the FDR where we watch the fireworks. I would def stay again.

I’ve stayed here before and the quality and service is always impeccable. Jae checked us in and thanked us for our Platinum Ambassador status and our room was upgraded accordingly. Ronaldo gave us great service at breakfast, which was definitely worth the “breakfast for $1” reservation option if you’re considering it! I’d love to stay again. A… Read more
