Such the perfect location to catch a play at the Lyric Theatre, and do other touristy things. Since it’s right in the theatre district, dining options before and after the play abound. We were welcomed by a friendly and professional front desk staff who upgraded us to a sky view room with double beds, a request I called in after booking a room where the bed configuration was not guaranteed. Having umbrellas available for their guests to borrow is also a thoughtful touch. In addition, we thoroughly enjoyed their sumptuous room service breakfast every morning Only minor issue is that while housekeeping did an overall great job in cleaning the room, the carpet or the drapes could use some deep cleaning. Another is the difficulty hailing a cab or booking an Uber by noon, because of the traffic. This was easily addressed by walking to 9th Ave. We have been to NYC more than half a dozen times, staying at various hotels around the city, never quite finding that go-to hotel that checks off all our boxes. Safe to say, we finally found it! Read less

We are the Intercontinental ambassador and had a problem with the house keeping. They just gave us 2 spring bottles of water for ambassador complimentary per day. Once I asked more, it was like I was asking too much. As I applied for intercontinental ambassador, I got lots of water that I asked for from Intercontinental Chicago and Boston. In New… Read more

Once I asked more, it was like I was asking too much. As I applied for intercontinental ambassador, I got lots of water that I asked for from Intercontinental Chicago and Boston. In New York, they can give me only 2. I don't know why. Also, I should receive MINERNAL water (as shown in the website). I was so funny that the 5-star hotel had the problem with the Intercontinental ambassador member for just WATER. Also, the house keeping didn't fill the coffee and tea capsule for US. Read less

We are actually appalled at the level of service that was provided here, especially considering the fact that Intercontinental hotels pride themselves on luxury. From being greeted by the rudest and most unpleasant lady at the desk (her name is Letitia or Letoy- who it seems went out of her way to be unaccomodating to us) to the exceptionally poor cleanliness an room service(there was an old sock in the sofa- see attached picture), we will never visit here again. The breakfast buffet was very limited compared to other Intercontinental hotels too. I think the staff here need to visit places like Dubai, Makkah and Mumbai to learn what true IHG hospitality is. Very disappointing! Read less

My two friends and I stayed here for a few days for a girls weekend trip. I previously lived in NYC, so I knew the area fairly well. We loved the location of the hotel, and how close the subway access was. We were able to do most of our traveling along the blue line trains because it’s steps away from the entrance. We had a very smooth check-in process. The hotel staff was friendly, and our room was available when we arrived. We loved that we got a small upgrade to the 19th floor, which I believe is a step up from their classic room. We had a wonderful view of 8th ave from our window (photo attached). Although we did hear some sirens and noise (as expected), it was very faint and none of us heard it overnight. As for the room itself — it was beautiful and very clean. The beds were comfy, the room was big enough for us to keep three carry-on suitcases comfortably while still being able to move around. The bathroom sink is a little small, but nothing that is worth docking a star over. The shower is a rain head shower which we all loved. We didn’t expect housekeeping to come everyday, so that was a pleasant surprise. We ended up changing it so we wouldn’t waste towels. We also loved the restaurant for a quick happy hour break and snacks. Overall, this is a great hotel in a great location. It’s close to the staple tourist spots while still being far enough away from traffic congestion and crowds. The staff is friendly and welcoming and we felt very safe during our stay. We are looking forward to our next trip and staying here again! Read less
