Got to room a double, double three adults sharing beds are very small rang down to change was asked to come back down to reception with our cases to be given another room. When we got down was told no rooms available and if we want to change next day would be a extra $200.we,checked out after five days with a $170 bill we had to pay resort tax although we had been told it was covered. The Intercontinental Group has an iconic image and usually deserves its accolades but this Hotel disappoints in many areas. The rooms are ok by modern standards but don’t stay here unless you have unlimited funds. It has a cold and unwelcoming feel on arrival with the lobby area resembling a railway station concourse presumably as it was formerly a railroad hotel. A simple salad and a beer cost $44 and if you do choose to eat breakfast it will set you back over $50. Considering it has a very sparse buffet and no a la carte option it really is outrageous and probably accounts for why its virtually deserted in the morning whilst a stream of guests pour in loaded up with delicacies from Starbucks. New York can be expensive but this really breaks the mould and sadly is not compensated by style and comfort Read less

The hotel is very conveniently located, close to the subway, to Central Park, to a bike rent shop (a must do in NYC!), nice diners and eateries. The rooms are spacious and there is no noice (exceptional in NY). But most of all, I want to thank the friendly staff and specially the concierge for making good restaurant recommendations and the security (Eric) for preventing that my wife got into a tourist trap rickshaw. You made our experience unforgettable. Read less
