I had left my AirPods and toiletries at my hotel room. I called them when I remembered about it. They confirmed they had it and and plan to get shipped. The person I talked to first didn’t reach out to me. I then left intercontinental emails to help me out. Isaac Anderson reached out to me shortly after the email, apologized for the delay and arranged to get the items shipped over FedEx ASAP. Though items were not expensive it carried sentimental value as it was a gift. I really appreciate intercontinental for doing this and ensuring I got it back. Thank you for the kind gesture Isaac. !! Excellent hotel with friendly staff and attentive service. The door man suggested a bagel place on E51st. It didn’t disappoint. The bartender was friendly and made an amazing Manhattan. Desk and Manager were so kind and professional. I’ll be back.

My wife and I booked our Ambassador Anniversary night and stayed three nights total. We are NJ residents and took NJ Transit and the subway and sidewalks to the hotel. Online check-in made our interaction with the desk brief. So brief that our IHG membership and Spire Ambassador status were not mentioned. We did not receive a room upgrade. The Barclay King room was generally in excellent shape and well decorated. We were pleasantly surprised by the heated bathroom floor! Everything in the room worked. The only problem was that the headboard was torn with a angled rip about 2 inches on each side (see picture). We were surprised that it wasn't repaired or at least taped. We both got a solid sleep in the room. The usual NYC noise was muted. There were some changes for the pandemic. Housekeeping was only a change of towels and trash once a day. The Club Lounge was closed and the restaurant and bar had reduced hours. Mask requirements are merely suggestions and not well enforced, to our dismay. We turned down several elevator rides with the unmasked. In general the hotel did the best that they could with the situation. Many 4 and 5 star hotels around town are still closed. All in all it was a comfy place to base our few days in NYC. Read less

If you have ever stayed in a nice hotel, please don't be fooled into staying here. You will be severely disappointed. This is not a high end hotel. It's not even a decent one. If you have ever stayed in a nice hotel, please don't be fooled into staying here. You will be severely disappointed. This is not a high end hotel. It's not even a decent one. We normally stay at The Palace, but decided to try a new place. It was a very bad experience from the very start, We went with our kids and I called to make sure we would have adjoining rooms. Of course, when we got to Check-In, there were no adjoining rooms available. When we asked what the solution was, the front desk guy got agitated and combative. The manager came out and tried to bribe us with meal tickets. Frankly, I was embarrassed for her. She said she would have something for us the next night. Guess who never bothered to follow up? We had breakfast in the hotel - powdered eggs - truly inedible. The server couldnt be bothered to give us water. We had to get up and get it ourselves. Literally the worst meal I've ever had in NYC. Finally, the rooms are tiny. My wife and had to stand single file in order to be in the bathroom at the same time. There are many other hotels. Even if you have to pay up $100 a night, you'll be happier. There's a reason this place looks like a "deal." Avoid. Read less

Beautiful hotel in perfect location. The rooms were above average size for NYC. Beds really comfortable. Room was quiet and cozy. Keurig coffee maker and fridge . Nice size closet. Bathroom smallish but manageable. My only complaint is there weren’t. Enough hooks to dry towels , but that’s about it. There was a resort fee, but when you check in… Read more

Bathroom smallish but manageable. My only complaint is there weren’t. Enough hooks to dry towels , but that’s about it. There was a resort fee, but when you check in you get a $25 credit for food or drink at the bar/ restaurant. About 5 minute walk from grand Central. of course tons of bars and restaurants . We went to Le Relais de Venise for dinner. HIGHLY recommend. And ESS a Bagel for breakfast. long wait , but seriously worth it!! Would absolutely stay here Every time I came to nyc and I’ve probably stayed in a minimum of 20 different hotels in NYC thru the years.I just fear the prices will once again go through the roof once we’re through COVID. DO NOT forget Vaccine card/ picture and AN ID . you’ll be out of luck for most things, including sitting at Hotel bar!! Read less
