Great Hotel and great staff. The entire staff made our stay very enjoyable and pleasant. Everything went well for our stay and we look forward to staying at the Intercontinental Barclay again in the future. Great location too! We were able to walk to many places.

This time, there was a white tent set up on the backside of the hotel and I thought, someone important is staying here. When I got to the front entrance, I had to show my reservation to NYPD just to gain entrance and I asked myself, who is staying here? Once inside, there was Secret Service everywhere and I learned that President Biden was staying here after a fundraiser in NYC. Nice to know that me and the President of the U.S. have the same taste. The staff is great: Annmara, Leslie (both at Ambassador Desk), Gregory (Front Desk), David (doorman), Sharon (Front Desk), German (bar) and Mills (Bellman/lobby). They always remember me and treat me like a valued guest. Read less

We stayed here in late 2021 and now once again in early'ish 2024. Each time we enjoyed the property and the location. Fortunately, our IHG Platinum Elite status allowed us to get a slight room upgrade (for double beds), which was helpful as there were three in our party, and the originally reserved room configuration would have been quite tight for us. The rooms (and bathroom) are clean, comfortable and quiet. Beds and bedding are nice. Staff was competent and friendly - notably at check-in. The Barclay is approaching a hundred years in heritage, so it is classy over modern. There is a nice lobby bar, which we patronized each night for to use our daily $25 allocation (carved out from the mandatory $40 resort fee), but be forewarned as the prices there are very expensive. EX: a simple charcuterie ended up costing $42 after all fees and gratuities were added in. Bottom line, the Barclay will certainly be in our consideration mix the next time we plan a trip to Manhattan. Read less
