Historic New York hotel on East 47th Street. Close walking distance to offices, shopping and top restaurants. Due to COVID none of the restaurants in the Hotel were open. Fortunately there are many good restaurants in the area so it’s not the end of the world. I stayed on the 14th floor. The room was comfortable and clean. Bed was… Read more

Fortunately there are many good restaurants in the area so it’s not the end of the world. I stayed on the 14th floor. The room was comfortable and clean. Bed was comfortable. The view is nothing exciting. The decor is classic, not modern. Staff were friendly and efficient. No issues with billing. Due to the absence of room service I had a good delivery one night. No issue with it but you need to go to the lobby to collect. Would stay there again. Read less

Pros: - Historic details abound, very beautiful property - Room on 12th floor was very clean and good size for NYC (2 doubles) with interesting details, comfy beds, and a large bathroom - Fitness center was large, clean, and pretty much empty - Employees were friendly - Location (although not the most interesting) is safe and central to sights - Room was very quite despite facing Lex Cons: - Toilet had a small leak in the back - All dining is shut, services in general are still limited - Small line to check in - 'Resort fees' in city hotels don't sit well - wasn't advised of the benefits so didn't use them (e.g. minibar credit) - if they're not being offered at the time, the fee shouldn't exist right now Like I said, would definitely return but not a 'must stay' Read less

would like to begin by saying this is a beautiful, very clean, well maintained property in a great location... Although this property is not known for its views, I thought my room was very nice and clean, (except the kurig). A robe for both guests in the room, an extra paper cup and a back up roll of tp would have saved me a few calls. Beware!… Read more
would like to begin by saying this is a beautiful, very clean, well maintained property in a great location... Although this property is not known for its views, I thought my room was very nice and clean, (except the kurig). A robe for both guests in the room, an extra paper cup and a back up roll of tp would have saved me a few calls. Beware! …if you purchase from the high priced, (as expected) mini bar, the QR code on the fridge door will provide you with an bit outdated price list, it also does not mention, each item you pick up, even if you put it back, you will be charged for automatically. I count calories and carbs therefore picked up and read the label on many items. Fortunately I decided to wait in line and check out at the desk and was able to have the invoice adjusted. I was given the impression this happens often. I was nice when they verified we were celebrating an occasion several times prior to check in. Twice in an email and once at the front desk upon check in. Staying in hotels quite frequently for business and pleasure, and often to celebrate a special occasion, I was surprised when there was not so much as a welcome note of acknowledgment. Out of curiosity I asked what they normally do for guests celebrating. I was told normally they would send a lovely dessert to your room, however due to Covid restrictions they couldn’t currently do that. This is a luxury property with expert management and well trained employees?! …Be a little creative! …any tiny gesture, how about a bottle of water? A postcard was slid under our door within minutes of me jokingly saying…not even a card? lol. You do tend to expect a certain level of courtesy and service from a first class property. Any lack of amenities and service was blamed on Covid. No platinum elite status acknowledgment or perks in affect at this time. I knew service was limited therefore I was not upset or surprised. Oddly however, We visited several hotels with bars and restaurants in that area and they were fully operational. I understand employees are hard to find during this hiring crisis however just be honest about it, covid can’t be the answer for everything. Upon arrival, not even a returned hello or nod from the employee cleaning the entrance door, just a pointed finger in the direction of another door. These times are tough post covid, we are all adjusting to the world reopening. I simply expected to feel welcomed, I did not. Read less

The front desk was nice and attentive, however despite having an Ambassador Status and there being rooms available, he said there were not any. I checked the app and I could see some available, however, I chose not to say anything and proceeded to get my keys to the room I had previously booked. Room was average, I was not impressed to be honest, I didn’t feel like taking a picture of it. My room did not have some basic amenities (bottle of water) something you would expect as part of benefits from having status with the brand. When I inquiry about breakfast, I was told that I would get 10% discount at a restaurant nearby. I love NYC and I was expecting more from this property but I regret to say it was lacking. P.S: Their fitness center needs serious attention. Read less
