My wife and I were in New York on business and spent a few days at the Barclay and enjoyed it very much. The accommodations were nice and we enjoyed good service. We very much use and value the Club lounges at Intercontinental hotels. We arrived late on a Saturday evening and knew that the lounge would be closed. Due to the fact that the lounge was being used for a private event we received $150 which we could use for a late dinner. Much appreciated, but I do not understand why the lounge was closed for 8 days because of a private event? The hotel has meeting place and conference rooms why not use this space for private events rather than the lounge? This closure did not affect us, but still I think it was wrong business decision for those who want the Club experience. In addition to this on Monday during the breakfast time the Club was used for another private event. It wasn’t closed, but the noise was very loud and in stead of enjoying a quiet breakfast experience, we left and had tea at the Lowell Hotel since we had a business meeting on the upper east side. I am not trying to be negative as we truly enjoyed the hotel, but let’s keep the lounge for loyal IHG patrons and have private meetings in the meeting space designated for private events. Only other comment is that the common areas were highly air conditioned, I only mentioned this because we heard so many people commenting on how cold it was in the lounge and lobby. Read less

I stayed at the Intercontinental Barclay during a business conference in NYC this past summer. It is very conveniently located. It is within walking distance of many of the sights my wife and I wanted to see during our stay. The service was friendly and efficient. The food for our breakfasts and lunches were very good. It was a good stay.

We love staying at the Barclay for the quiet and calm atmosphere it offers after spending a day walking around the city. It's sophisticated and orderly. The staff are always on point, kind, polite and approachable. We spend a lot of weekends in NYC and are already looking forward to our return.

The service is excellent in every respect from the concierge, to the check in,to the valet who gets you a taxi in a minute, to all staff. They are terrific. The room was great clean and stylish. Only issue watch out for all the service fee is added to room service. Don’t get it.

The worst experience in 30 years of booking a hotel. Random and unexplainable charges on my card, and an utter lack of communication to try and resolve the issue. Genuinely amazed at how poorly the hotel management addressed my issues. Shaken my trust to stay in an IHG hotel going forward.
