I enjoyed my stay. My room was clean and ready on time. The staff was professional and friendly. The meeting space was efficient and the lunch meal was very good. Proximity to Central Park was an added bonus.

We stayed here for a NYC weekend. The hotel’s location is wonderful! Walking distance to innumerable activities. We are Bonvoy platinum. I was very underwhelmed with our stay here. The customer service was subpar for a higher end Marriott chain. There were no staff members who were looking to go out of their way for an exceptional experience. Definitely not the Ritz. It wasn’t bad just didn’t really notice it. I was very underwhelmed with our stay here. The customer service was subpar for a higher end Marriott chain. There were no staff members who were looking to go out of their way for an exceptional experience. Definitely not the Ritz. It wasn’t bad just didn’t really notice it. The only negative experience I had was when a bellman tried to steal a taxi that my wife and daughter had just flagged down for another guest. The guest saw it all occur and gave it back to us. Thank you! We stayed in a Manhattan suite during our stay. The room was nice and spacious. The bathroom was a little small and dated for a suite. If you are just looking for a place to stay at a decent rate in a great location this is a great place for that. Just don’t expect anything above and beyond. Read less

This hotel looks directly across the street from Central Park & we took a carriage ride through on our way to the metropolitan museum. It was cold outside but the blankets warmed us while we rode past runners and dogs in their warm outfits.

Nothing is to much trouble for the staff at Essex house. I ordered some flowers and chocolates in the room this was done. John the bell man cares way above and beyond his job role that everything is perfect and general friendly manner of staff is top class. We was given an upgrade and a small treat in recognition of our special ocassiin which really did mean a lot. I have stayed in many 5 star hotels around the world for me this tops the list. Love the design of the hotel keeping it’s character really feels like a classic. I have read many reviews saying the rooms are small all I can say to that is you will be very disappointed if you stay anywhere in the uk, there is plenty of space. I spoke with one of the management Ana, who was a very nice lady indeed. I do not have enough praise for this hotel. I will be recommending to friends, family and business colleagues and me and my wife will be back. Well done Ana and all the team at Essex house keep up the great work and don’t change a thing!
