The hotel

Railroad magnate Henry Villard's 19th-century mansions were combined with a sleek tower to create one of the city's best hotels. 899 rooms and suites, including recently renovated suites in Villard House with a 55-storey tower attached. Superior Rooms are 360sq ft east-facing rooms, with 1 king-size bed or 2 double beds, sleeping maximum 4 people.

Cathedral View Rooms are 360sq ft and offer views of St. Patrick’s Cathedral and Rockefeller Centre, with 1 king-size bed or 2 double beds, sleeping maximum 4 people.

Skyline Cathedral View Rooms are located on higher floors, with 1 king-size bed or 2 double beds, sleeping maximum 4 people.

Palace Studio Suites feature cathedral views, with 1 king-size bed plus a sofa bed, sleeping maximum 4 people.

Tower Rooms are located on the 41st floor and higher, with Manhattan skyline views and either 1 king-size bed or 2 queen-size beds, sleeping maximum 4 adults.

Palace One Bedroom Suites feature a separate living area, and large bedroom with en suite marble bath and 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults.

Palace Signature Suite with oversized living room featuring a large dining table and wet bar, full marble bathroom, walk-in closet and 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults.

Tower Executive Suites with views of the Rockefeller Centre and St Patrick's cathedral, separate living area, and 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults.

Tower One Bedroom Suite with panoramic views, marble bathroom with soaking tub and separate shower, living/dining room, and 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults.

Tower Corner Suites with stunning views in two directions, featuring separate living room with wet bar, butler's pantry, marble bathroom with soaking tub and separate shower, and 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults.

Palace Family Suites with cathedral views, two bathrooms, multiple seating areas, with either 2 king-size beds plus a sofa bed, or 1 king-size bed, 2 double beds, and a sofa bed, sleeping maximum 8 people. 

Tower Two Bedroom Corner Suites with skyline views, two bathrooms, living room, and two bedrooms, one of which features 1 king-size bed, and the other has 2 queen-size beds, sleeping maximum 4 people.

We stayed at the Lotte (my daughter’s 21st celebration mother/daughter trip) but we were disappointed. Location is great & the hotel itself (the gold room etc) oozes opulence but they over pack the hotel with conferences so it’s a min 10 min wait for the lifts that you have to squeeze into like sardines; you have to prompt the desk to call… Read more
We stayed at the Lotte (my daughter’s 21st celebration mother/daughter trip) but we were disappointed. Location is great & the hotel itself (the gold room etc) oozes opulence but they over pack the hotel with conferences so it’s a min 10 min wait for the lifts that you have to squeeze into like sardines; you have to prompt the desk to call housekeeping to replenish the loo rolls due to the heavy foot fall in the lobby bathroom & as hotel guests you can’t find anywhere to sit in their lobby or outside “garden” area as the chairs are taken by conference visitors working during their breaks. I wouldn’t rate it as a 5 star. The guys at the concierge desk were super helpful and friendly, the same with the staff in the hotel’s cafe & check in was quick and easy as was checkout. Our bedroom/bathroom was cleaned daily which was great although on day 2 the bathroom smelled musty no doubt due to a stale cloth being used to wipe down the counter tops. The rooms are dated our shower over bathtub dribbled & the receptionist happily pointed out that my superior king room (which I thought I’d upgraded to thanks to BA’s misleading website) was in fact their standard 😂 what’s superior about that??! Our room, while spacious, had some quirks. First, the only refrigerator was filled with items to purchase. There was no room to chill your own items. They gave us 3 bottles of water but we had to drink them warm. Because there wasn’t any ice machines either. We called the concierge who told us that service would bring an ice bucket with ice. That never happened. The TV had no ability to access Netflix or any other internet service. You couldn’t check out via the TV either. For the price you pay for a room here, that was unsatisfactory.
