The hotel

Railroad magnate Henry Villard's 19th-century mansions were combined with a sleek tower to create one of the city's best hotels. Skyline Cathedral View Rooms are located on higher floors, with 1 king-size bed or 2 double beds, sleeping maximum 4 people.

Palace Studio Suites feature cathedral views, with 1 king-size bed plus a sofa bed, sleeping maximum 4 people.

Tower Rooms are located on the 41st floor and higher, with Manhattan skyline views and either 1 king-size bed or 2 queen-size beds, sleeping maximum 4 adults.

Palace One Bedroom Suites feature a separate living area, and large bedroom with en suite marble bath and 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults.

Room: Really, really nice room. Large room on the 47th floor of the Towers. Had a nice sitting area, minibar, and nice closet. The room had a large TV with clean carpet and large windows that let the light shine in during the day, but with electronic blackout curtains that kept it dark at night. Super clean. Bed: Super comfortable, with super clean, soft, white linens. Slept like babies. Bath: Large walk-in shower, plenty of luxury branded bath amenities including almost everything you would need, including a toothbrush, toothpaste, and a razor. Plenty of clean white bath towels. Amenities: As stated, LUXURY bath products, plus an umbrella, two soft white bathrobes, and two pairs of slippers. Free bottled water. Modern, electronic lighting and curtain controls. Lobby/Common Area: Beautiful architecture that is well-maintained and first-class in every way. We ate breakfast at the Villiard (make reservations, even for breakfast) in a beautiful space with nice service. Cleanliness: This is our number one requirement in a hotel stay. Very clean. No need to worry here. Location: Directly across the street from Saint Patrick's Cathedral and Rockefeller Center. Short walk to Bradway. In the center of NY culture! I stayed in a room overlooking beautiful St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Coffee bar near the lobby was perfect for starting our morning. Only bagels and one other vegan option, but the vegan poppyseed muffin… Read more

I stayed in a room overlooking beautiful St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Coffee bar near the lobby was perfect for starting our morning. Only bagels and one other vegan option, but the vegan poppyseed muffin was very good. Elevators were always fast and readily available. The original areas of the hotel were rich in history. Beautiful! The hotel is conveniently located and an east walk to Central Park, Fifth Avenue and Broadway shows! Checkout was made easy via my phone. I would most certainly stay at The New York Palace again. Read less

We had a wonderful recent stay at the Lotte NYP. We’ve stayed here before and love this location. The rooms are large and the staff is friendly and helpful. We were fortunate to get a beautiful view of St Patrick’s Cathedral from our room which made our Anniversary celebration special. Had a fantastic one night stay at The Palace! The location was perfect—close to midtown and Central Park and easy to get around.m. Loved every bit of our stay and can’t wait to come back with the family and stay longer and check out the restaurant and bar.

Recently returned from a 6 night stay at the Lotte. We are a family of 4 and booked a room with a cathedral view room. I would highly recommend this if you can. We loved our view!!! Although you're not in the room for long it was lovely to sit and watch the world come alive first thing or last thing at night. We found the room to be a good size… Read more
Recently returned from a 6 night stay at the Lotte. We are a family of 4 and booked a room with a cathedral view room. I would highly recommend this if you can. We loved our view!!! Although you're not in the room for long it was lovely to sit and watch the world come alive first thing or last thing at night. We found the room to be a good size for New York and the beds were comfortable with plenty of storage in the room. I had emailed the hotel in advance and asked for a fridge to be placed in the room and I had taken a small travel kettle as I can't function without a cup of tea first thing in the morning. All staff that we encountered were friendly and polite. We loved the location which was half way between Times Square and Central Park and close to a subway station and Grand Central Station. We're hoping to return next year and the Lotte would definitely be our first choice. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Read less
