Lotte New York Palace

Midtown, New York

The hotel

Railroad magnate Henry Villard's 19th-century mansions were combined with a sleek tower to create one of the city's best hotels. It's a place where the staff greet you as if they have known you all their lives, and nothing is too much trouble. The location is one of the best in Manhattan, right in the middle of Midtown, but hidden away in a gated courtyard. There's dining options suited to all at the Lotte New York Palace, from luxury brunch to baked goods, whatever you opt for you'll be in for a treat. Enjoy handmade cocktails in one of Manhattan's most popular bars, Trouble's Trust, or relax in 19th century-style surroundings in Rarities - either make for the perfect post-day-in-the-city tipples.

Staying at the Palace this summer is very special to us because last time we were here was exactly before pandemic in February 2020, and it feels so good to be back to this beautiful place now that everything is getting back to normal. Here again everything is perfectly managed, very clean and all the safety and hygiene measures are at the highest standard. Rooms are kept in an impeccable way, Pomme Palace provides very good variety of fresh daily food - sandwiches, fruit, juices, coffee, pastries - all to enjoy in the cozy lobby bar. It feels very welcoming here - a stunning place yet feeling like a home away from home due to everyone’s professional and very friendly approach. We are grateful to all staff and in particular to our wonderful concierges Kal Naim and Mrs Maya for their friendly and efficient advice and perfect arrangement of our plans, Mrs Dalmasi and the whole team of the Mail office for keeping all our correspondence in a perfect order and timely delivery. The Palace became our first overseas destination after the reopening, and we couldn’t have chosen a better place where we felt very welcome, perfectly taken care of and safe. Thank you! We’ll be back again:) Read less

We’ve been staying ay the New York Palace since before it became a “Lotte”. It had always been a family favorite, until now. We will definitely not be coming back. To start the rooms at the towers are in desperate need of a revamp. The sheets on our pull out sofa were still dirty from previous guests. The A/C on one of our rooms wasn’t working and the answer was to put a towel or pillows on top of the vent, WHAT?? The concierge weren’t able to help us with anything, not a reservation, not information, nothing. This is a big hotel with ONE working elevator, it would be wrong during normal times, but during a pandemic it’s unacceptable. This is a hotel they should at least serve a proper breakfast. We understand that due to COVID there are a lot of restrictions, but the fact that they use that as an excuse is unacceptable. They are way understaffed, everyone is very very nice but not very helpful. Hopefully they are able to go back to the hotel they once where! Read less

We stayed at the hotel with our 16 year old daughter who loves Gossip Girl. We were taking photos of some public iconic places that were featured on the show when Maurice offered to take phots in the courtyard of our daughter. He then proceeded to take us to so many of the sites within the hotel we never would have found and regaled us with back stories of the scenes from the show. He knew the best shots for the photos and made our daughter feel so special. For the rest of our stay, he always greeted us warmly and asked about our daily adventures. The entire staff was so gracious and helpful, but Maurice really made a lifetime impression of n our daughter and I think she's now a Place hotel patron for life! Read less
