I was so shocked to find out that there wasn’t any housekeeping and breakfast provided during our stay. I had no problem with that given that we were trying to be understanding of the covid situation but we didn’t even have anyone checking in on us to see if we needed towels, toiletries or bags for trash. I had to send my sister to the lobby to ask for a trash bag and they couldn’t find one to give to her. I visited Miami in May and stayed at the “W” and had no issues there. We had housekeeping everyday and restaurant was open. I will say that I loved the location. It was so close to Times Square. We could hang out in Times Square, run up to our room to use the restroom and come back. There was a movie being filmed there which was super cool but the hotel staff was so rude to us when we tried to ask what was going on. Read less

I had 2 rooms and i am staying over a week with my family. Reception said I received an email stating no room cleaning during entire stay one day prior to my arrival. If I knew this, I would NOT have booked this hotel. The surprising thing is that I called the hotel 1 dsy prior the arrival and they did not mentioned it. Staff is really rude, not polite, and not helpful. To get the line you should wait at least 20 minutes on the line. I recommend not go and not to spend over 1 million points to have such treatment. Customer service is stellar. My husband and I live overseas and need a one night hotel in NYC on either end of our trips back to the US. We used to stay at the Hilton but I am now totally converted to the Marriott Marquis. The moment we drove up to the hotel and were greeted by the parking security guard we were welcomed with genuine care and service. Every person we encountered during both stays was friendly, curious, and ready to help. Particularly the gentleman who accepted our bags for holding after check out. At the Hilton they charge something like $10/bag for this service and I was much more pleased to offer a gratuity to the kindest man than to pay $10/bag for a few hours until our flight. I am truly appreciative of the customer service, which is to be expected at the high end resorts of the world but was unexpected at a gigantic Marriott in the world's busiest city. Also, we had a great view of Times Square, the bathrooms are modern, and the bed is very comfortable. Read less

Not sure you can get any closer, but this property is in Time Square. Your view will either be Time Square North or South (facing the New Year’s Eve ball). You are steps away from Broadway, Good Morning America, the M&M store (if you have kids), and all the large LCD screens you always see on TV. A great selection of coffee shops are all walking distance. The nearest subway station is on 42nd which is 2 blocks away (South towards Downtown) walking on 7th Ave. Tip: Learn and ride the subway everywhere! Arriving at this property in the evening after a long 4 hour drive, the last thing you want to worry about is parking. However if you don’t have a parking plan, it will cost you $80 a night to park here and Valet is the only option… Tip: Have someone stay in the car as you check in. Drop-off your luggage, then park outside of Time Square (like Lincoln Center) then ride the subway back to the hotel. We ended up parking at the hotel for 1 night, and the next day at a smaller garage on 409 W. 56th St. since it was close to Unlimited Biking rentals (recommended) and Central Park. We then biked around the park and rode the #1 subway Downtown back to the hotel. Check in is on the 8th floor after you figure out the elevators. Front desk was very friendly and professional. Steve recognized my Bonvoy Gold status and went out of his way to get me the floor and view I wanted. Thanks Steve! He also went out of his way to fix an issue with my reservation by escalating it to his manager who fixed it a couple days later. Seemed like the Bonvoy reservation system was not in sync with the hotel reservation system during this particular stay. We stayed at the 43rd floor with an incredible view of Time Square facing the New Years Eve ball. There were 2 double beds, fridge, large HDTV, table, coffee maker, and a couch. Beds were comfortable, pillows and comforter fluffy. Bathroom was a good size with a walk in shower that had bottles of shampoo, conditioner and body soap built in. Overall I would recommend this hotel if you haven’t seen Time Square, traveling with family, and want to be close to all the tourist attractions. Broadway shows were still closed during the time of this writing or else this would have been a perfect location to catch Broadway performances. Next visit we will probably stay at a different hotel to experience another part of this vibrant city. Read less

I stayed at this hotel on Memorial Day, and I was nice property. I enjoyed most time of the stay. I like to write pros and cons. I hope this help. Pros: Location: No need to mention. Will there be any property that have better location? Clean and large room: I was worried about room condition before arrival, but it was just slow update from website. It was clean, new, and large. Security: To ride an elevator, without floors like Lobby, all floors require card key, which is now pretty much standard but still good to mention. And in 1st floor, there are security standing for extra safety. Insulation: I am not sure as I had high floor room (40+ floor) and near end room, but it was very quiet. Gym: I go workout everyday, and gym is important for me in hotel stays. And this hotel had great gym. Cons: Price: New York is expensive city... everyone knows. But still... it is expensive for 4 star hotel. Restaurant: Restaurants in this hotel was closed, which is quite unique location. That was one of the sales point for me. Swimming pool: No swimming pool Final words: Great hotel... I just think 5/5 rating deserves to hotel with excellent, flawless service and hardware. This is absolutely great hotel to stay, just some small points leaving to 4/5 rating. Read less
