I was very disappointed with my experience at Moxy Times Square. The staff was very rude and uninformed at check-in. The young lady who checked me in did not go over the amenities of the hotel and when I asked she rolled her eyes and reluctantly told me about the rooftop. She said the rooftop only took reservations the day of and I had to contact their management team via phone or email; I sent 2 emails and called 3 times before I went to the lobby to speak to a manager. (I called the lobby from my room 5 times and my cell phone 5 times— and to no avail). I spoke with Ali about not getting through to the “Crew” via phone and about rooftop reservations. He told me I needed to make reservations 30 days in advance and that hotel guests do not have priority over the general public. As far as not getting through to the “Crew” from my room phone his excuse was, “There’s a lot going on with Covid and everything so we’re trying to get systems in place for our phones.” It was an excuse and in that moment I understood this property lacks leadership, friendliness, and basic hospitality skills. (I haven’t seen any employees smile or speak with a “pleasant” tone during my stay). Also, no one is enforcing masks, despite signs being posted throughout the public areas of the hotel. It’s safe to say, I will not be returning to a property that has so much potential but lacks the true essence of hospitality and best interests for their guests. Read less

I do not recommend permanently to stay in this hotel, the worst hotel to stay, they modified the bill after departure and increased 50 dollars, and two bills were sent, one upon departure, one bill after departure, and a withdrawal of 50 dollars for no reason. Great location and interesting funky design BUT no one who works there cares about anything . Sure it’s Covid days and I understand the challenges but this hotel’s management is lazy and awol. Only dealt with 2 girls who were new to the property and somewhat clueless, I do not hold that against them but the hotel management and their lack of presence and attention to anything on the property . Asked to speak with a manager but never heard from them during my 3 day stay. Hotel was a mess with trash and dirty towels all over the public spaces and was never picked up even after 3 days . I understand no daily maid service with Covid, but come one pick up the mess in the public spaces at least on a daily basis . If you chose to risk staying here, book through a travel website , not on the Marriott website as it’s cheaper and there is zero recognition of Marriott titanium status, so why pay more . Plenty of other good choices in the area , so avoid unless you want to get bit by a rat rummaging for his dinner through the un cleaned up trash in the hallway outside your room! Also there was zero enforcement of mask wearing as required by nyc Covid regs , many customers dint care nor did the employees, so if you don’t get bit by a rat , you might get sick ! Read less

I have stayed 5 nights and Enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The location is definitely the best part of the hotel. Wifi works well, beds are comfy, nice showers. I highly recommend booking them for any occasion, it’s worth it. The overall environment and experience is top notch!!!

So this review is months late. Had been meaning to write one but just now getting around to it. First,, Things started out horrible. Check in took hours and was confusing. We had to wait in confusing lines for too long. The staff was mostly rude.there were a couple of nice ones, but others were rude and didn’t seem to care about their rudeness. No one asked us if we needed help despite our look of pure confusion. The hotel is nice.. small rooms almost like an ikea display.. but for NY it’s what you’d expect. It’s compact. Still clean and nice. Elevators are confusing but once you learn the system it’s not so bad. You have to tell the elevator where you’re going before it opens the door or arrives.. Roof top lounge is great.. expensive drinks but great lounge. I would say 2 people per room is enough. Any more than that an you’ll be on top of each other. The rooms are for sleeping and showering only. That’s how small they are. Convenient to times square and other sites, trains, Macy’s, and pizza joints. We had such a good time we it overshadowed the checkin and rude staff experience. We’d definitely book here again and again. Enjoyed the stay! Oh,, parking... it’s insane. Very costly. So we parked up a few blocks and paid less than the hotel parking cost. But it’s NY!!! Gotta expect these things. Read less
