On arrival my husband &I waited while gentleman at reception was on a call. When he got off the phone he simply said “name” no smile no welcome! He then took our card and when we asked how much would be taken from the card he said we can see on checkout! I then asked what floor we were on and he said you can see it on the room ticket! He then took our card and when we asked how much would be taken from the card he said we can see on checkout! I then asked what floor we were on and he said you can see it on the room ticket! It was 1001! First or 10th floor who knew! The room smelt musty when we arrived! Nice size and clean but not the best smell. We still didn’t say anything. Went upstairs to busy rooftop bar where we have booked dinner. We both were seated in small school like chairs at entrance of indoor outdoor area (covered in plastic that you could not see through). Both chicken wrap and Caesar salad were terrible. Did not eat them and again did not complain just paid the 84 dollars and left. Went to the jazz bar on the ground floor which was lovely and we eventually got a smile and a welcome. That night we both wanted to check out and leave after a terrible evening. 400 dollars per nite including taxes was not worth it. We stayed 5 nights and tipped cleaning staff everyday. One day we only had 7 dollars in change and that day we did not get coffee, shower gel or shampoo etc! Not good enough for a four star hotel. Location is good but three other 4 stars in same street. Choose carefully. Will not be returning. Read less

My new favorite hotel in midtown - doesn't get better. A++ guys. Great to see a gem in a world where everyone seems to rest on their laurels from years ago, or a name that doesn't mean anything anymore. Everyone took pride in their jobs here and it was refreshing to see. Read less

I have stayed at this hotel numerous times over the last 6 years and have never been disappointed! The front desk staff are awesome and always friendly. The rooms are nicely appointed and the location is perfect just south of Bryant Park. And the rooftop is fun with great food.

First, the hotel is in a great location, easy walking distance from both Times Square and Grand Central. Right from when we first arrived (a few hours before our room was ready, but they were nice enough to hold our bags while we wandered the city), to the point when we checked out (and again, they held our bags for a few hours so we could keep exploring), every single staff person we met was friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable with all the amenities we wanted. We went to the hotel restaurant for both dinner and breakfast, and the food was delicious and the service was excellent. I would love to come back again! Read less

The service was amazing! The hotel rooms was very well taken care of and clean! Everyone there was very nice and helpful. Gabe, Ray and Miguel were very helpful and let us get to our room a little early so we could put our bags in the room! I would definitely stay at this hotel again!!
