We were disappointed in our stay. So many things weren't right. A lack of attention to details in a hotel that calls itself a luxury destination. Not always big things but they added up. Air conditioning problems, 1/3 of the elevators not working, upon arrival no soap in the room, no wash cloths, no shampoo or conditioner, the bedside light was not working right. Maid service over our 5 days was sometimes just reduced to getting us more towels when we asked for them. When we arrived in the evening at 9:30 we were directed by the front desk to the Parker and Quinn room for dinner and told that it closed at 10:30PM. However, we were initially turned away while being told the kitchen was closed. The manager eventually was called and we were then told they could squeak us in. I could go on. Read less

The location was perfect for our needs as retail buyers. We felt safe and surrounded by nice restaurants and other stores. This was our first trip to NY since February 2020 and we normally go 8 times per year. We changed from a hotel we have been staying at for over 12 years due to the Covid Homeless housing situation. This hotel is much nicer… Read more

My son, dog and I spent 6 nights at the Refinery in June, and we'll definitely go back. Our room was large, comfortable, stylish, quiet and the A/C was amazing. Gabe & Ray are both incredibly helpful, and made us feel very welcomed. The location is perfect for easy access uptown or downtown, and we loved being 2 blocks from Bryant Park which is gorgeous. We're not Hilton/Marriott/big chain hotel type people, we like unique, interesting, and cool hotels with a hip vibe which the Refinery most definitely is. Thank you Gabe & Ray, we look forward to seeing you both again in 2022 when we return. Read less

From the moment we checked in, the staff at the Refinery went above and beyond to make sure we had a memorable stay in the city. We are grateful to Ray, Lamar, Gabe, and every staff member we encountered, all of whom were hospitable and generous with their time. We are grateful to Ray, Lamar, Gabe, and every staff member we encountered, all of whom were hospitable and generous with their time. The AC wasn’t working, and they were all working incredibly hard to remedy a situation that was out of their hands, including dealing with some very upset guests. We ultimately wound up rebooking at a neighboring hotel, but that is in no way a reflection of the excellent customer service we experienced at the Refinery. We look forward to returning! Read less

A comfy bed and free wine at the entrance don’t make up for a bad A/C system, a housekeeping rag being left in the room in the middle of our stay, and the starchiest and stiffest towels I’ve ever felt. I’ve been to Best Westerns with nicer towels. Final touch was the shower curtain bar that was crooked and wouldn’t allow for the shower curtain to… Read more
A comfy bed and free wine at the entrance don’t make up for a bad A/C system, a housekeeping rag being left in the room in the middle of our stay, and the starchiest and stiffest towels I’ve ever felt. I’ve been to Best Westerns with nicer towels. Final touch was the shower curtain bar that was crooked and wouldn’t allow for the shower curtain to be fully closed. For a four star place at this price point, I’m severely disappointed. If I wanted a bad hotel experience, I wouldn’t have spent this much money. There is also no sort of sound deadening between at rooms. Hearing hair dryers, doors slamming, and people having sex were great highlights. Read less
