Image of the Tripadvisor rating Great location for theatre and dining

Marriott property with a great location for a theatre visit. Within walking distance of several theatres and easy access to a variety of restaurants. The entrance is on the lower level of the hotel with the lobby on the next floor. Orienting oneself to different elevators proved to be only complication. Nice dining area with free breakfast to… Read more

Our holiday went from last few days in April into first few days of May. We have never been to New York before and had no idea on the location of this hotel. We were not disappointed. The hotel exceeded my expectations. Our room had 2 double beds because of our teenage daughter, the view from our room was amazing, even though we were only on the 11th floor. The hotel is contemporary and the bar and lobby absolutely amazing with stunning views over Times Square. We enjoyed an evening drink most evenings and the bar staff were very attentive and went out of their way to give our daughter an experience, making her mock tails etc. the security downstairs was spot on. All in all, a fabulous hotel and we would not hesitate in staying here again. Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Great Location, Very helpful and friendly staff

The location and view of Times Square from the breakfast room are exceptional, the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Rooms are adequately sized. The only slight negative was the bar closing at 10pm, not a major issue as there are several bars within walking distance.

My wife and I stayed here for a three day weekend along with family in other rooms. The location just off Times Square is certainly convenient and the price was right given that we were paying the tab for the rest of the family. The front desk was friendly and helpful and housekeeping was done well, however, I’m not sure we would stay here again for several reasons. First, there is no valet parking. In midtown Manhattan that’s a real problem, especially when their preferred (and discounted) parking is 3 blocks away. Second, the rooms lacked certain essentials one generally finds in hotel rooms such as a pad of paper and pen by the phone and adequate drawer space for stays of several days. Finally, the hotel’s bar closes at 10:00 PM. Really? Ever hear of after dinner/after theater drinks? Lots of people don’t want to hit Times Square bars at that hour. All in all, the hotel met the minimum requirements for taking the family to NYC but, in the future I’d probably look to book a better alternative. Read less

Best hotel in Times Square! From when we checked-in to check-out, everything was perfect! We celebrated our daughter's 13th birthday and the Renaissance made our trip so memorable! I booked the king-sized terrace room with a balcony and WOW!!! Best room in all of Times Square- no one had a balcony like this! We drank coffee in the morning and shared pizza at night all outside on our private balcony in the middle of time square- such great people watching. The Renaissance also sent up an amazing birthday brownie for our daughter's birthday- so very special! Love being a Marriott member and this just shows how much they truly care! Service was amazing! We will definitely come back to NYC and stay here again! Read less
