This hotel lies right in the heart of all the Times Square activity, but feels like a quiet oasis in the midst of a loud raucous frat party! As soon as you step into the lobby, the craziness of the outside world slips away and you begin your journey into a calm and restorative environment. The nature of NYC is loud and busy and in your face, which is great, but for me - not for long. It's overwhelming. So, when I have had enough...after the Broadway show, and dinner out, and navigating through the streets with crowds and cars....I want a retreat where I can escape. This hotel is the perfect respite from the external noise of the city. The muted purple and gray decor, the quiet and calming sheep that wander through out the hotel (metaphorically), the friendly and accommodating staff - all evoke a sense of timeless civilization amid the chaos. The rooms are spacious and quiet, and the restaurant offers floor to ceiling glass windows so I can witness all of the activity right below in Times Square, while being lavishly spoiled with attention by the restaurant staff. With cold beverages. In air conditioning. With good food. Yes, this is my go to NYC property. Read less

This hotel is located in the heart of Times Square, making it very convenient for exploring New York. The panoramic views of Times Square from the R Lounge and Bar are priceless. It was great to enjoy the view while drinking a Brooklyn Lager. However, the breakfast menu was a bit disappointing.

I recently travelled with my family to NYC & we really enjoyed our stay at the Renaissance. Great location for everything we had planned. Comfortable beds, good size rooms, and a friendly staff. We look forward to staying at this hotel again the next time we are in town!
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Decent stay. Comfortable, but dark and somewhat dated room. Expected more from the brand.
