However, we quickly realised that our toilet in the bathroom constantly ran with water and our AC unit was faulty. We raised this with reception twice and were told somebody would come to fix it. Nobody ever came. We therefore had 5 uncomfortable nights sleep as the bathroom was noisy and the temperature uncomfortable. As a minimum, when you stay in a hotel you expect to be able to sleep comfortably. We have since raised this again and have not reached a resolution. This is a real shame as we usually love RIU hotels and stay in them all over the world. Issues are usually resolved really quickly. Finally, if you are staying I wouldn’t add on the breakfast as this is like feeding time at the zoo- queues everywhere and long wait times. Read less

In the lobby you definitely felt the energy of the hustle and bustle of being in the city but once you were in your room it was incredibly peaceful and quiet, giving you a nice mix of the two. The staff that work here are incredible assets to the hotel and the company itself, every encounter I had was pleasant and I always felt everyone was really friendly. I wanted to give a special mention to a lovely woman named Lady who works at the front desk, she helped me get checked in and was incredibly informative, helpful and personable at all times which made settling in to the hotel even better. I was well and truly looked after here from the minute I arrived being greeted at the taxi by the lovely concierge who took my bags right away as I got checked in. All in all it was a fantastic stay and I can’t wait to come back! Read less

After extensive research we stayed here for 4 nights. We booked 2 superior rooms with city rooms. We requested rooms on the same floor and were allocated next door but one, which was perfect. After extensive research we stayed here for 4 nights. We booked 2 superior rooms with city rooms. We requested rooms on the same floor and were allocated next door but one, which was perfect. The rooms did not disappoint, with the most fantastic views on 42nd floor. We arrived at 12pm and were lucky as our rooms were ready so we were able to check in, and get exploring. The hotel is in a fantastic location, with easy access to the metro, buses and also within walking distance to several tourist attractions such as Times Square, The Empire State Building, Rockefeller Centre, Central Park, Ellen’s diner, Grand Central Station and more. Several reviews said that the hotel was noisy, but we found it to be the opposite, and were totally surprised at how quiet it was during the night and early morning. Traffic noise was also minimal. Some reviews also complain about breakfast queues and the entry system. We thought this was run like a very effective military operation. The longest we queued was around 25 minutes and we ate between 7:30 and 8:30 every morning. The restaurant was well staffed and well stocked, with food regularly replenished. The food was fantastic - fresh with a fantastic variety. Due to having such a big breakfast we think we saved a good $250 on not having to buy lunch. All staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. They were knowledgeable and able to assist with directions and booking a transfer. The on site bar/cafe was also great for a quick snack or cocktail before/after an evening out. On our last day we were able to leave our cases and enjoy a final few hours in the wonderful city. Changing facilities and showers are available for guests to use. Overall I would recommend this hotel without hesitation. It was modern, clean, well equipped and well staffed. Absolutely perfect for a mini-break or longer stay. I Read less

Great hotel, excellent location, exceptionally clean. Rooms of a good size for New York, nice and clean bathroom. Elevators and waiting in line for breakfast is something you have to get used to, but once you see why and how it works, you gladly accept it the way it is. So many tourists want to have breakfast at the same time, and this system seems to work. Just a hint, it starts at 7:00 but the line starts around 06:30. Breakfast itself is great, but the coffee is terrible. Absolutely low standard coffee for this kind of hotel. But Dunkin is right across the street. Read less

RIU Manhattan Times Square. Hotel is in a pretty perfect location, the rooms are pleasant with ample space until you have to turn the sofa into a bed. It was supposed to be an executive room but I didn’t get that vibe. Not enough storage space for clothes overall considering there were 3 people in our room which made the room feel claustrophobic at times. The breakfast is nice but it is massively oversubscribed. You have to queue in reception to get into the lift for the 5th floor to queue again once on the 5th. It’s starts at 7 but it should be sooner as the queue is already substantial at that time. It was a great base but it’s not a hotel that I’d want to spend a huge amount of time in. Read less
