Have recently returned from our stay at The Sanctuary hotel and have to say we were very impressed. From check in to check out the staff could not do enough for us. We stayed for our 30th wedding anniversary and were given a complimentary bottle of bubbly and I think, an upgraded room. The room was plenty big enough with 2 windows and everything set out very cleverly. We had seen reviews that said rooms were really small, so were pleasantly surprised. The room was also kept spotlessly clean. Andrew the manager was very attentive and greeted us each time he saw us,as he clearly remembered us, which we thought was a nice touch. Breakfast was ample for us to start the day and meant we were full until lunch. Yes it was the same every day, but so what, it was plentiful and filling. All in all we had a fantastic stay and we appreciated the extra little touches afforded us due to our anniversary. Thank you Andrew and the team. Read less

The lobby feels like a night club. Upon returning to the hotel at night, I had to queue and navigate the throngs of bar hoppers. I also thought the check in staff weren’t quite as attentive or helpful as they could be. When I checked in, the receptionist didn’t even bother to tell me where the elevators are. I also thought the check in staff weren’t quite as attentive or helpful as they could be. When I checked in, the receptionist didn’t even bother to tell me where the elevators are. When I asked, she pointed vaguely. I had to ask two more times. Finally, the attentive bell hop offer to show me himself after he saw the receptionist wasn’t going to do anything. The room was small but decent for NYC. I did think the shower smelled moldy which made me wonder about the cleanliness of the hotel. In the morning, another bell hop was super helpful and gracious. Best thing about the sanctuary: the bellhops. Read less

Was looking forwards to making use of the rooftop bar during our stay. We couldn't as there were events on. Disappointing and wish we knew this in advance so we could plan to Use it the one night it was free. Leaving the hotel wasn't too smooth due to the event, the staff did they could but it was hardly the relaxing vibe we thought we were… Read more

Disappointing and wish we knew this in advance so we could plan to Use it the one night it was free. Leaving the hotel wasn't too smooth due to the event, the staff did they could but it was hardly the relaxing vibe we thought we were coming to. One lift was broken, any noise in the hallway was clear as anything into the room. Rooms are very small and no natural light. Coffee/Water downstairs was great. Location is ideal, but in a very very busy area. Read less

Just returned from a weeks stay at The Sanctuary hotel and I must admit it took me a couple of days to understand the name but then I got it, it is a peaceful sanctuary and oasis of calm from the hustle and bustle of times square outside the door. The rooms in the hotel are small but you have to decide what's more important a large room at an extortionate rate (due to it's close proximity to Times square) or a smaller room at a more realistic price, for me the location and price won. An added bonus for this hotel is the breakfast that they offer, yes it's the same food every day (scrambled eggs, sausages, cereal, pastries and bread) but it means that you can remain in the relaxing environment a bit longer. Room was serviced every day and all the staff were very attentive and a credit to the business. I would most definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a hotel with close proximity to Times Square and local attractions. Until my next trip, thank you for a fantastic break Read less

This place is good. Yes the rooms are small but its right next to Times Square so its going to be. We visited the very popular roof bar but didnt see the attraction to be honest but each to their own. Read less
