Outdated and in need of work. Paint and rugs are worn and Not acceptable for the price they charge. And They charge you $5 per bag if u arrive early. Good location for sight seeing shopping and restaurants. Long long lines to check in and longer lines for the coffee Starbucks in the lobby. Overall not worth the price.

This was my first time staying at this hotel. The location is really the best thing going for it. It is close to Central Park, Radio City Music Hall, Rockefeller Center and there is a subway station right there as well. However, there were a few big problems. First, the walls are paper thin. My husband and I were able to hear the entire conversations of the people in the next room both with each other and on the phone. And they were by no means speaking loudly. The staff were generally nice (should be for as much as that hotel costs!). However, when I asked about internet connectivity in the business center, I was told that I could not use my own computer in their business center. They told me I could work in the lobby but not in the business center. Keep in mind I was working during off hours when no one was using it. And the lobby is always crazy busy so there would be no way to get any work done in there. I was not going to print anything in the business center either, I just wanted to do some work in a quiet place other than the room. If I tried to connect to the internet in the business center, I was prompted for an access code that I did not know, nor did any of the staff. (Thank goodness for iPhone hot spots!) Ultimately, I did use my own computer in there! I was super excited that they had a really nice fitness center with multiple Peloton bikes. Unfortunately, most of them did not work because either they were missing pedals, or they would not connect to the internet so you could not log into your Peloton account. Again, they required an access code that no one seemed to know. I think there were only two or three out of like 10 that could access the internet and that you could log in on. Word to the wise, bring cycle shoes with the regular clips and not the Peloton clips. The only two bikes with Peloton clips did not work. I found it interesting that they did not have work out mats (seems like a no-brainer to have those given the amount of equipment that they did have and areas that were clearly set aside for floor work.) and the wet wipes to clean the machines were only accessible from one dispenser. Little things but still these should not have been issues. This is the only hotel I have ever stayed at where they charge you to store your luggage. ($5/piece/day.). You would think that after spending as much money as that hotel costs per night they would at least throw in free. Did not do room service due to a fairly limited menu and all very expensive. But there is a deli/bakery, Shake Shack and Roxy Diner all right across the street. The rooms are definitely dated but they are clean, and the beds are comfortable though the pillows are thin and flat. And the elevators are super high speed which was a nice feature as well. Overall, I would not rate this as a four-star hotel. Maybe a solid 2.5-3. I really hope they add some noise insulation to the walls! Read less

I've stayed here a number of times, though not since 2016. I expect more from a $400/night hotel (or 52k Bonvoy points, as we did.) It's a great location. I've stayed here a number of times, though not since 2016. I expect more from a $400/night hotel (or 52k Bonvoy points, as we did.) It's a great location. Easy walk to the heart of Times Square, Central Park and, on Thanksgiving, the parade. This place is tired and overpriced. Last time I was here there was a fabulous lounge on a high floor with a killer view. Now, no lounge at all. The mandatory $30 "destination fee" comes with $30 in-house credit. Bring your patience if you want to use it at the we proudly serve Starbucks in the lobby. You can't miss it. It's the place with the 20 minute line. (The servers were very nice but understaffed for the crush.) I have lifetime platinum. Stayed at plenty of Sheratons. This is a warehouse for tourists, as my wife put it. Room details: Street noise audible on 19th floor. Hallway conversation comes through the door easily. The A/C has a shrill background noise that kept waking me up. Bed was meh. Locked, empty minibar taking up space for no apparent reason, like storing it here is just easier for the hotel.... as for platinum upgrades and perks, we booked this with my wife's gold Bonvoy account because she had a certificate. Front desk was brusque and rude, really, in refusing to add my name and higher status to the account. No upgrade. Not even a we sure appreciate your business and are sorry we can't do that. Regret staying here. There are so many better options. Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Run down but great location

Outdated and run down hotel. No refrigerator or microwave in the rooms. Bed is very hard, can hear noise from outside and in the hallway. Can see daylight around the doorway, wallpaper is peeling and carpet is torn. Best thing about this hotel is its location.

The hotel is a great place to stay! It decorated beautifully for Christmas, and the beds are clean and comfortable. I was completely disappointed by the concierge service. When I first stopped by the desk, no one was there. Finally after several minutes, she shows up, and asked if she could help me. That is the only thing she could do to help. Every question I asked, she retorted with another question. After several of her questions and getting an answer from me, I finally decided it was enough and thanked her for her service, but she still never answered my question. A stranger was happier to help me that the person paid to do so. Lesson learned. Read less
