I was supposed to be in NYC for a work meeting, but I extended the trip and brought my family. I stood in the Bonvoy Elite line for twice as long as the regular line - hopped out and switched lines when I realized the situation. The room was acceptable, but my 9yo, who is weirdly used to nice hotel rooms due to my Marriott status, walked in and said, "This room is sooo small!" I think it was fine for NYC standards and the view was nice toward Central Park. The blinds chain didn't work properly and the toilet was running constantly due to a broken flapper. No fridge in the room. It was impossible to get breakfast in the hotel with my "free breakfast" on Sunday as the line was over an hour long. No lounge for Bonvoy Elite members. No bell service. They charged to hold our luggage on the day of check out! The building has an efficient elevator system. Read less

It is very interesting that all Mariott group hotels in NY do not care if you have a family and friends discount coupon from the Mariott group. What I found out while booking for these hotels in NYC. Surprisingly the rate given to me for family and friends was more than the price you could book on the net. So their family and friends discount is a… Read more

We just had the worst stay at Sheraton Times Square. We stayed for 9 nights and attended 2 conferences. The front desk employees are very nice and helpful. We upgraded to a suite at the front desk which was 2 connected rooms. The keys never worked. We went to the front desk at least 6 times for new keys. My makeup bag was missing from my bag that was checked into the holding room because the room wasn’t ready ( ,line and chaos at the holding room). The thermostats do not work properly so we had maintenance up and the filters were filthy and 3” of dust. The biggest issue was letting the front desk know we were checking out a day early 5 days in advance, they said “just let them know the day you check out”. The day before we reviewed bill and told them we were checking out and they said they were charging an early check out fee of $150.00. I asked for a manger who said he had to talk to the sales manager ( Brian Gernik) who denied waiving the fee even thought their employee miscommunicated. I asked to speak with Brian Gernik, but of course he wasnt there, he was on his cell phone so he made the other manger come out to talk to me. Super scam like to tell us to wait to tell them (again ) we were checking out. Beware. The hotel is managed horribly and is not customer friendly. Read less

Terrible service, they treated us with utmost disrespect and wouldn’t even give us water. Whenever asked for anything at the reception, they would always reply in the most demeaning and disrespectful manner, making it the MOST unpleasant stay I’ve ever had at a hotel. They even charge an extra destination charge here which is an absolute waste of money. Don’t waste your money and time at this place. Read less

This hotel is in serious need of a major renovation. Everywhere you look something is dinged, chipped, torn, etc. The lobby was absolutely filthy during my visit. Trash was everywhere, the furniture had been moved all over the place, for some reason there were banquet chairs scattered about, and the floors were gross. The lobby trash cans were seriously overflowing everywhere so the hotel's solution was to drag out a huge rolling trash can and leave it there beside the other cans. Shortly after the new can appeared I saw a woman walk over and violently vomit into it and walk off. It seemed strangely on key and I will forevermore think of this hotel as the Sheraton Vomitorium.
