The only reason I gave it a 4 instead a 5 were two issues: we needed two queen-sized beds since there were 4 of us and they only had doubles, and the refrigerator in the room was only available for a fee. Other than that, we truly enjoyed our stay. It was clean. Staff was friendly. The elevators were different than what we were used to, but it didn't take long to figure the way they worked out. I was worried about noise, but I had a noise spa, and the room was quiet, and we slept peacefully with the machine on. It was in a very convenient location close to lots of restaurants. We felt safe. The New Yorkers we experienced were all polite. We truly enjoyed our experience! Read less

I booked this hotel for a 5 day stay , I found another Marriott hotel that could accommodate my 7 day trip , so cancelled this booking the next day ( 32 days before arrival ) and received confirmation of cancellation On 6th may the hotel , without any notice or communication charged me a “ no show fee” , I reached out to them and was told by Johnny that the cancellation had not been received , I gave the cancellation number and Sodna told me it wasn’t valid I went thru old e mails and found the cancellation e mail and forwarded it to them . They now accept my evidence and said it hadn’t cancelled in their system and a refund of the ( incorrect) charges would be reversed Mistakes happen , the issue is how they are dealt with , the onus here was on me to prove there was a flaw on their system , not me ! They took a charge , and now I need to wait some days to have it refunded , no doubt I’ll lose on the exchange rate In preparing this review , I noted other guests had finance issues at this hotel too , I suggest Marriott speak to this franchisee about damaging the brand reputation . Your response was “matter of fact” and Un empathetic , you offered no explanation or solution to the problem , no doubt assuming I was trying to pull a fast one I still don’t know how the cancellation wasn’t processed properly , and I don’t think they know it particularly care either , so others should beware Kind Regards Read less

The concierge experience was REALLY bad. Despite I’m an Ambassador Elite Member, SAMUEL at the front desk was very unfriendly in working out a naming error that had been done with our reservation. We arrived shortly before a business meeting we had, and SAMUEL was unwilling to allow us into the lounge to conduct the meeting while this issue was being sorted. He was rude in the way he answered to us, did not speak up (despite how loud it was in there) and his body language just screamed that he wanted us out of there. Despite paying a premium to be in a high floor, the “upgraded” room we got was very small, even for a Manhattan standard. The bed was also uncomfortable, and the door locks did not properly work. I will never stay again in this hotel. Read less

Threadbare, snarky “service”, avoid. Hotel is old and not well maintained. Privacy lock on my didn’t engage at all so called engineer. Two men arrived to assess issue, one of whom literally laughed in my face when I expressed my concern that the privacy lock should work. Appalled. The hotel is in a good area to sight see with Central Park, Rockefeller Centre and Times Square all within walking distance. The room was of a pretty good size for a family of four but the bathroom size is not very big and in need of updating. Nicole on front desk was very happy and great to talk to about the surrounding area and all the staff had a very happy demeanor about them. It is noisy though and the rooms could do with noise cancelling glass as street life does make it a bit hard to sleep at night. Read less
