Convenient location, but the rooms are pretty tired and shabby (flickering lights in the shower, a couch you couldn’t pay me to sit on, and small/odd room layout), second time staying in the hotel and both experiences were pretty sub par, while not overly expensive for New York, would have trouble recommending it to anyone.

When for a few nights with my wife for our mini-hunimoon. Location was great. Starbucks is basically in the reception. You can spend a fortune staying in NYC we found this to be reasonably priced and worth the money, above what you would expect.

The welcoming was smooth even speaking in French (A BONUS) forgot the name of the gentlemen, with clear explanation of the details and destination fee, but few info were missing that was clearly explain at the bar. Great Crunch gym in the basement. In their bar/restaurant (THE STAYTON ROOM) from the amazing smile and service of quality of Maria C., made us feel welcomed, to the smile of Valentina S. and Brandy the subsequent days and great convo with Kush who knows how to entertain guest, the staff was incredible. Notable mention to the manager Rachel for extending our late check out to meet our needs and finally to Nicole at check out, after an error on the destination fee that was missing a day discount, immediately corrected and add an extra day discount for the error. The hotel is old so you could hear a little but not much in the other rooms but a 95 years old hotel you could not ask for more, room are not big but very nice and clean. Location is perfect and on point. The only downside was the constant construction in the street starting around 10-11 pm through the night but can't blame the hotel for that. A little pricey but you feel the quality of it and what you pay to be in Manhattan. Thank you Lexington for the amazing stay. Read less

Favorable stay at this Marriott Autograph Collection property located in midtown Manhattan close to Grand Central Station. Checkin was smooth, no issues. Unfortunately no upgrades due to capacity issues. I used a corporate rate for this stay. Price was a little over $300 per night which is reasonable for this brand and location. They offer you bottled water at check in which is good because none in room. Room was on 25 “elite floor” was small but functional and clean. It took a while to heat up as the heating unit is next to window. Bath was a single sink and standup shower. As mentioned, no water or coffee maker. Lobby is two levels with big TV screens looping NYC scenes. Small business center on mezzanine level. There is a Starbucks on first floor with street access, this surprisingly was open at 6A. Had buffet breakfast in first floor restaurant. There is no executive lounge at this location. Breakfast was buffet style and had standard fare, coffee was very good. Self service, no wait staff present at 730A. Only comment would be that key access is not required for elevators, meaning anyone off street can access rooms. There is a doorman and lobby security, but no one checking elevator access. I inquired at front desk and got a “because we don’t offer that feature” explanation. Given life in NYC, I find this to be a big security gap. Doorman helped us get a cab and with our bags. Friendly and efficient. Overall, I would stay at this location on a self funded trip to NYC as this location delivers a good combination of value and comfort in a great central location. Read less

Just arrived, unfortunately the rest of my party were delayed on account of the earthquake grounding their flight from Canada. As I had flown from the UK I arrived early and initially couldn’t check in. Nicole on the front desk was unbelievably helpful and an absolute life saver she managed to get me a temporary room to freshen up in and wait until the room for my party was available. That alone was some of the best service I’ve received at a hotel and she’s definitely a credit to the company. Read less
