We got married at the ritz Carlton in Orlando 5 years ago. It was amazing. We specifically set our sights on the NYC Ritz Carlton as the destination for our 5 year anniversary. What a fantastic choice! The staff was beyond exceptional in making us feel special. The beds and rooms and luxurious, the bar is phenomenal. I can’t thank the ritz… Read more

Service on a higher plane. There are lots of nice rooms in NYC but the staff sets this property apart. From being greeted by name throughout our visit to the obvious pleasure they take in serving their clientele. They are always looking for ways to help. The room was immaculate. We stayed in a Park View room on the 18th floor. It was quiet and comfortable. The views are amazing. We thought it was worth every penny. Lots of closet space and plenty of hangers. An excellent steamer rather than an iron and board. The soaking tub was deep and comfortable. The vanity and mirror was well lit. 2 plush robes. We thought the location was perfect. Can’t recommend this property enough. Read less

I rate this hotel in the lower to middle ranks of 5 star hotels. There’s nothing to knock your leggings off, but on the other hand there is nothing to really belly ache about. I rate this hotel in the lower to middle ranks of 5 star hotels. There’s nothing to knock your leggings off, but on the other hand there is nothing to really belly ache about. It did seem to me and the missus that nearly all guests were Marriott reward members using their hard earned rewards points to book a possibly once in a life time vacation in a “fancy-shmancy” NYC hotel. For example there was lots of unintelligible front desk, lobby, and elevator talk about which Marriott’s reward level guests have attained, also complaining about missing perks at this particular Ritz, and copious name dropping about other Marriott hotels that have been visited in the past. Marriott should consider issuing rewards badges, like in the military or at Costco, so guests can proudly display their Marriott rewards level without so much verbal communication. Read less

My husband and I traveled to NY on business in late March. Because we were able to book through our company, we enjoyed a discounted rate and hence found the hotel to match that value. My husband and I traveled to NY on business in late March. Because we were able to book through our company, we enjoyed a discounted rate and hence found the hotel to match that value. Had we paid $1,200+/night for the room, we would have been disappointed. We are Ambassador level, but I can tell you that there are zero benefits offered to Marriott's most loyal. Check in went smoothly but we were not given any kind of upgrade, despite the hotel being nowhere near capacity (and plenty of rooms available for booking on the app). At other Ritz Carlton properties around the world we have enjoyed a room upgrade, club access, etc. but you get nothing like that at the Ritz central park. I will say that our "no view" deluxe king room was SILENT. It's really hard to find a truly quiet hotel room in midtown, but this was it. Your view may be of an interior courtyard and brick wall, but you'll sleep like a rock! The room itself was spacious and the bathroom was beautiful and comfortable. The room does not have any kind of coffee or tea. There's a mini fridge, but it won't hold more than a few small items. Everything was very clean. None of the staff wore masks which we actually loved. Enough COVID theater! The wifi didn't work the first two days we were there but we had 5g service throughout the hotel. One of the highlights is the gym, which includes both a normal cardio/weights room as well as a "studio" with mats and 2 pelotons. The bar is really beautiful and well spaced out. We had drinks there twice and dinner once. The dinner was just OK, but the martinis are delicious! The location is great especially if your business is in midtown. The bar is a great place to have a business meeting or host clients because it was relatively quiet without feeling dead. We spend 12+ hours/day at the office and only use the hotel for sleep, gym, bar. While we would definitely return on a business trip at a discounted rate, we would not "splurge" for $1,200+/night for a room here. Read less

This hotel is known for luxury and service but I found it unimpressive. Perhaps finding frayed thin towels and bare amenities in the bathroom, paint peeling in the shower ceiling and dingy floor rug not up to my standards for a lux hotel. Perhaps finding frayed thin towels and bare amenities in the bathroom, paint peeling in the shower ceiling and dingy floor rug not up to my standards for a lux hotel. Although it promised maid service 2x a day I did not get it and what happened to mints on the pillow? The bathrooms were roomier than the room itself which I liked and the location can't be beat directly across from Central park. The staff was friendly and the concierge very cordial and informative. Room service was speedy. Housekeeping wonderful. The complimentary car service was a nice perk. However for $900/night would I stay here again? Maybe if they renovated the rooms. Marriott Bonvoy member perks start at titanium, just FYI. Read less
