W New York Times Square

Midtown, New York

The hotel

You may be in the heart of NYC but you’ll enjoy peace and quiet in a W hotel room. Head to The Living Room, complete with DJs and an extensive drinks list! The hotel’s Blue Fin Restaurant is also highly recommended, and comes complete with a sushi bar. If that's not enough, there's Dos Caminos serving Mexican fare, and a margarita bar! Directly facing the bright lights of Broadway, a dramatic, floating, stainless steel staircase leads the way to a semi-private alcove dining area where guests can kick-back and listen to the music of Miles Davis, John Coltrane and Dizzy Gillespie. A wonderful place to stay for couples, friends and family, you’ll also enjoy the W’s famous Whatever/Whenever service – nothing is too much trouble for the staff, all you have to do is ask!

The W at Times Square is in a great location right in the middle of Mid-Town Manhattan. As a hotel, it's nicer than a standard Marriott, but not super-luxurious. You have to go up an elevator to the lobby in a cool street entrance with a feature that makes it seem underwater. Another bank of elevators goes to the rooms. This is moderately annoying but not a big deal. The rate I got was pretty good, but beware the massive $29 "urban fee" - you do get a "free gift" (a pair of gloves and bag) and $25 cocktail credit at the bar, but I'm going to keep calling out automatic hidden fees like this until hotels stop adding them or they are made illegal. Room was fine. We got a nice corner room with a view of the Hudson River. Bed was VERY uncomfortable. On top of an uncomfortable bed, the bed covers are very light. We should have asked for another down comforter. Overall didn't make for a real comfortable sleep. I'd prefer to stay at the Westin Times Square or the Westin Grand Central.

If you want to scape from the tradition kind of hotels, W is the best place to go with! Cool ambience, cool staffs, foods are amazing and bar are stunning, pricy? I can say no! Its just the same as other hotel price, Kudos! We surely come back!

Once you get to the hotel, you have to take an elevator to go to the lobby, and once the doors of the elevator open, you realize how cool the hotel is. The front desk team was very nice, very polite and respectful. A shoot out to Mr. Kishan that made me feel like I was home. My room was fantastic, with an incredible view to Times Square. Internet was fast enough, amenities are awesome, gym is excellent and you will also have an exclusive excess to the restaurants, which it is awesome. The only thing that could be better are the prices of the wine glasses at the bar, but well, you are in NYC so you cannot expect to have cheap drinks. BTW, location is fabulous. I totally recommend it. You will have a great stay, Read less

It was my birthday and when I arrived they put us on the 57th floor (the highest floor) and there was a birthday card and a bottle of champagne on ice for me - how nice is that?!
