Location is v good 15 minutes walking to Times Square and 2 min walk to Grand central station. Breakfast is bad and quality of bread is worst. I love this hotel so much and it’s so wonderful to be back again. The location is perfect and the staff outstanding! Convenient to so many things you want to experience. A very special thank you to Mariama at check in, who was a delight. I can’t wait to come back to my go to NYC hotel.

After an 18-hour flight from India and completing a 4-hour immigration line, we finally reached the Westin. It was my first time in the US. It was 10.30 pm local time and I requested the front desk to kindly provide us with a quiet room, preferably on a higher floor, if available, as we were staying for 5 nights and were gold elite Bonvoy members. No smile or greeting, he just handed over the key card for the 12th floor, whereas the hotel has rooms on 40+ floors. Anyways, we made our way to the room, only to realize that it had a defning sound coming from outside. I called the front desk to have it inspected. After almost 20 minutes, a security person came and confirmed the noise and said that he would inform the night manager about it. After 15 mins. the electrician came in and said that this noise is due to the AC booster which has been installed outside our room. It was almost midnight now, and after much pleading, we were moved to another room. The night manager said that the original room (with noise) is not typically allocated, and he wasn't sure why we were given that room. Now we were given a room on the 15th floor, directly facing the buildings, basically no view. The next morning we were greeted by a long line for breakfast. It took 15-20mins to get seated. A thin spread of nothing substantial to eat. Oddly, when I requested for some tea, I was told by the server that since I had juice, no other beverage could be given and I had to buy it. Every encounter with the hotel staff - front desk, server, laundry, housekeeping was cold, and rude as if we were prisoners rather than hotel guests. Another odd behavior was to inform the housekeeping every day before leaving the hotel to get our room cleaned. We learned this when our room was not cleaned after we returned at 6pm. When we requested it, we were told that the housekeeping staff had left for the day and the room could not be cleaned. Linen, soap, and pillow covers were never changed during our 5-night stay in the room, despite our request for it. Water was rationed and we were questioned if we asked for more than 2 small bottles. There was no microwave or kettle in the room, so hot water was on a paid basis. We have stayed at many 5 star properties across the world, however, never encountered such rude & discriminatory behavior from a so-called 4-star hotel. Every day was a shock on how the hotel staff interacted and behaved. There was not a single good thing about our stay in this hotel. Read less

Mariama really helped us out and made our checkin experience fantastic, set my entire trip on a great start. Hotel is really really nice, gym is really nice, location is also really convenient, central station is right next door at a 3 minute walk
