I live just outside of NYC, and stay over for weekends in NYC pretty frequently. I've probably stayed at a dozen different NYC hotels at this point. I live just outside of NYC, and stay over for weekends in NYC pretty frequently. I've probably stayed at a dozen different NYC hotels at this point. The Westin Grand Central is now my go to (I've probably stayed there 20 times at this point). It's almost a second home for me. My five star review boils down to: I have a consistently good experience and sleep very well, at a reasonable price compared to other Manhattan hotels (on the weekends). The rooms are comfortable and pretty big compared to many other NYC hotels (which can be tiny). It's pretty quiet (occasionally if you're on a low floor near 42nd st. you'll hear street noises, but only for more noise sensitive people). The elevators are fast and you don't have to wait long for them (which, believe it or not, is a frequent issue with NYC hotels). The location is pretty convenient, though I admit the area is not the liveliest on weekends. I've only ever found the staff very nice and accommodating. My two minor issues: 1) it is nearly impossible to reach the front desk by phone if I have any issues (e.g. adding my fiances name to the room), and they haven't responded to voice messages in a timely way. 2) The resort fee of $25 per night is irritating. Yes, you can easily get your value's worth if you get two citibike pass, go to yoga and eat breakfast, but it's not something I want to spend my time thinking about. But all in all, I think the hotel is very well run, and I have personally recommended it to friends and family. Read less

Bit of a mix up at check in but quickly sorted, British Airways had given the wrong name. Staff were helpful and courteous at all times. There always seemed to be a few not working which ment a long wait. When the lift arrived everyone wanted to cram themselves in even with large cases not very pleasant. And climbing up 26 flights of stairs wasn't an option 😱 Read less

Only a 1 night stay but everything went well. Valet guy was full of life & helpful, making us feel very welcoming. As well as the front desk rep, Mr. smalls. We joked about getting a “crappy” one bed corner room with a nice view, instead of what we booked. Felt at home and I’ll definitely stay again next time I visit New York!

Upon arrival at Westin Grand Central we were told we had no room. Booked through Virgin Holidays but were told this does not guarantee a room. Only bookings direct with Westin gurantees you a room. We were eventually given a room at 22:00 with free wifi as recompense. The man who serves breakfast at the 'grab and go' (man with greased back hair… Read more

We were eventually given a room at 22:00 with free wifi as recompense. The man who serves breakfast at the 'grab and go' (man with greased back hair and beard) must be the rudest man in New York. Never a smile, nver a good morning and basically through your breakfast at you. I did complain and was told it would all be sorted for next morning. He then chose to ignore us and let someone else serve us. Staff like this are in the wrong job and should not be in the hospitality industry. I'm not the first to complain about him so I guess Westin think this is how to treat customers if he's allowed to behave like this Read less
