The Westin is a Marriott product and they have a bad habit of charging a "resort fee" and raising their rates without telling you. Had to fight to get it removed as I am a Marriott member and was already getting some of the benefits given with the resort fee. At check-in, they treated us very poorly by taking us out of the line for Elite Status members (because we are not Gold members) and back into the reg. line. We stay at Marriott whenever we travel and have never had any problem with using their priority line. As luck would have it, we ended back in front of the same agent who kicked us out. Be careful with the waters/sodas in your mini fridge. We did use the water that was free to us as Elite members but was charged the next day for it. We had to fight to get that off our bill as well. We asked for clarification for these and other discrepancies with clerks and managers and while they did answer questions, all had that New York attitude. We did NOT feel like we were valued customers at this place at all. Read less

We stayed here for 4 nights to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary on the 4th July. We would like to thank whoever thought to put a bottle of wine and chocolate dipped strawberries in our room on the strength of seeing our cards in our room. Also to the front of house staff who were very helpful to us who were new to New York. My only complaint would be how much waste was involved in supplying 2 small milks? Overall a lovely stay. Thank you! Read less

Enjoyed our stay in a corner room on 39th floor. We were switched from a two bed room to a King bed with rollaway for our grandson. This was great, but they forgot to deliver the rollaway. We came back to the room tired at 11 pm, and had to wait half an hour for them to deliver the bed. This was the only problem with otherwise excellent service.

We arrived and our room wasn't ready, told us we could leave our bags with security downstairs gave us waters and pretzels while we waited, however we chose to walk around & they text us after an hour. Room was comfortable , good view on 39th flr, location in Times Square was very convenient.

Check in was very easy and staff was friendly. The location of this hotel is perfect and close to all of the Times Square attractions and Port Authority Bus terminal. Beware of the fridge as all of the things inside are on sensors, so if you remove one of the items to put your own in, you will be charged for it. Check your bills when checking out if you do this!! The destination fee is mandatory (30USD + tax) but includes Wifi, a free ticket to Ripleys, $30/night food and beverage credit and more. Since we stayed 3 nights, we had $90 dollars in food and beverage credits that we decided to use for breakfast. Check the prices in advance for breakfast as the bill for your typical hotel breakfast (fruit, yogurt, eggs, bacon, toast, cereal, etc) came to $107 USD for 3 people, which we all agreed was a bit much considering the ice cold that was offered. Nonetheless, the pros definitely outweighed the cons, and the hotel is aesthetically very nice inside. Read less
