Me & my boyfriend stayed at Soho Grand due to a last minute cancellation w/ our flight. Marcus at the front desk went above & behind for us! Immediately turning a bad situation good. Due to him we were able to make the best out of our trip! Will be back!

This review is a shout out to the “front of house “: we checked in at the beginning of New York Fashion Week - not only one of the busiest and most hectic weeks of the year in New York City, but also for the hotel this time around, as almost half the hotel was bought out exclusively by one fashion house for the week. It was a ton of people and commotion, but the Valet/Bellhops upon arrival – Denzel, Jose, Anthony, Lenny, Daniel, etc. – were as warm, welcoming and professional as ever despite the frenzy outfront, and coming and going of dozens and dozens of guests, black cars, SUVs and general demand on their team. Additionally, the Front Desk – Claudia, Kevin,Danny and of course, Marcus– were cool as cucumbers: dozens of people swarming around in the lobby and needing this or that in their rooms, to their rooms, for their rooms - all coming at them at the same time - but they were helpful, relaxed, and professional – they are truly a stand-out team. I was impressed with their collective ability to juggle and handle stress, and still make everyone feel like a priority guest. We will be back! Read less

I was visiting NYC with my boyfriend for the US Open. I did a lot of research on where I wanted to stay and decided on the Soho Grand because of the location and reviews. The location is great, right in the middle of amazing shopping, restaurants, subways, etc. Where the hotel fell short was the room and the overall vibe of the place. I picked the Grand Deluxe room because it said it came with a dresser, I know NYC hotel rooms are very small and I wanted a dresser to put folded clothes in. I think we were given a studio king because there was no dresser. We arrived at 1am because our flight was delayed and I didn't have the energy to talk to the front desk about our room. Either way the room was TINY and not very thoughtfully laid out. There was barely any closet space and the closet door didn't slide across all the way, it stopped right in the middle making it difficult to access things. The safe was on the floor of the closet, I almost left my watch in there because it was so dark and I had to use the flashlight on my phone on my hands and knees to check that I didn't leave anything behind. The shower didn't get very hot and the water leaked on the floor of the bathroom. HUGE PET PEEVE. There were plenty of places to add a few more drawers for clothes storage, but instead there was a huge mini bar/fridge that we never used. The room was so dark I couldn't get ready outside of the bathroom when my boyfriend was in there using it. The room might have been fine for one person but it is way too small and inefficient for two people. The overall vibe of the hotel is dark and kind of trying too hard, definitely feels like it's past it's prime. When we checked out, we were on our way to the airport so we just asked them to email the room charges. It's been three days and still no receipt so now we have to call and settle the bill over the phone. Also, the tv barely had any channels, we were there for the US Open tennis and couldn't watch it on tv because they didn't have ESPN2. We had a great time in NYC but I wouldn't stay at this hotel again. Read less

Location wise, the SoHo Grand is the perfect hotel for us as our daughter lives in Tribeca, and it takes a mere five minute walk to get to her! But that’s not the reason why we stay at the SoHo Grand. We stay there because of the staff. Over the years, we have made friendships with individuals at the front desk, housekeeping, at the restaurant, and at the valet stand and this is what we value the most, heartfelt connections. Every individual working at the SoHo Grand genuinely cares, and goes out of their way to make sure that your stay there is as close to being at home as possible. “Do you have enough down pillows, may we bring you more towels, is there anything else in the mini bar we could provide? How’s your daughter? We took the liberty of bringing you more of those chocolate cookies you liked from your last visit!” And how many establishments these days can boast about employee loyalty? The reason why we keep seeing the same kind and professional staff members at the hotel (like Marcus and Kevin) is because the SoHo Grand values and fosters the atmosphere of graciousness, hospitality and generosity, they are truly one big close knit family who love taking care of others! And we look forward to many more stays there!! Read less
