Location is perfect for getting around town, literally next door to Grand Central itself. Staff are attentive and keen to help. The big win is the size of their rooms. It's difficult to get a hotel with a decent sized bedroom but the Hyatt delivers this. Typically the rooms are double the size of others in this price bracket. I'll happily stay there again next time. Read less

Great location, for which the hotel decides to charge a surprise "location fee." Hotel is understaffed for the amount of guests they receive. Long line to check-in, no hotel employees in sight. Check-in people don't know about parking, which is run by a different company. Parking is also a separate fee of $100/day, which is normal for NY, but when… Read more

We stayed for 5 days and thoroughly enjoyed it. The room was clean, very spacious and the bed was so comfy. Very grateful for the air conditioning. All staff were helpful and the location is great. There is a destination fee of $46 per night and a deposit is required of $100 per night, both of which we were already aware of. You get $15 to use in the market place each day. We paid the destination fee in cash and put the deposit on our credit card. This showed as pending for the duration of our stay and was removed within one day of returning home. Couldn’t fault the hotel and would definitely return. Read less

Horrible experience with this hotel. No working AC. Elevators went down. Extremely crowded. Not worth the money.

I’ll start by saying I’m a tough critic. We stayed here for family vacay this summer. Myself, husband and son (12). Traveling for me is a pain because I am so particular. I don’t care what we do on vacation. We do what makes the rest of the family happy. My main happiness centers on the hotel accommodations. I want painless check in, check out, ready and free access to my vehicle, free and ready access to coffee in the lobby, a quiet and cool room with lots of space for each of us to be comfortable and a bathroom with a decent vanity for getting prettier up to hit the town. But despite my wish list, it seems to be way too much to ask of the hotel industry. Obviously meeting the expectations of most travelers is a much lower bar and why I will continue to hate traveling. That being said, the room we got was acceptable. I had to spring for the 600 sq ft suite in order to meet the room needs of space, bathroom vanity space, and it has two bathrooms one for me and one for husband and son. The room was nicely fashioned, good low lighting, wood flooring. Very nice. AC could have been a little better. Room was warmer and more humid than it should have been. I give it three stars vs five for having to get a suite vs regular room to meet space and vanity needs, and for not meeting any of the rest of my wish list and what should be offered at every hotel. But since this hotel’s offerings are on par with industry, I can’t downgrade too much for lack. I’d give them five stars if they offered coffee bar in the lobby, decent and more bedding, better parking options, seamless check in. Read less
