Although staff were friendly the hotel itself has really fallen behind all others I have stayed at. I travelled with my family being 3 Adults. The room consisted of what were to be queen beds and definitely were not. I could not comprehend how the bathroom given it’s size (very small) did not have any ventilation. No fan at all. It made it extremely difficult to feel fresh after a shower. Bathroom amenities were non existent. Very poor standards for a hotel that it’s pricing is quite hefty. I think the only thing it has going for it is that it has a laundry facility located onsite. Have been left feeling very disappointed with this property. Read less

This was our 6th stay at the Beacon over the past 13 or so years. Obviously, we really like staying here. It's a bit expensive, but worth it to get the great location and have the option of a suite. One of us wakes up about 2 hours earlier than the other so it's nice to be able to shut the bedroom door and start the coffee consumption without disturbing the spouse. We love the nearby grocery stores (Fairway, Citarella, Zabar's) and being able to eat some of our meals in the room. We also usually need to do some laundry and the Beacon has a nice laundry room. It did take me a little while to get the new app going to pay for the machines this time but once this boomer figured it out it was fine. We did notice that the little kitchenette area needs some attention and /or updating; the cabinet doors and drawers were getting kind of worn out and misaligned. Other than that, the suite was fine. The daily housekeeping service was very nice; so many other hotels no longer offer this. The front desk staff are polite and professional and the guys at the door are quick and helpful with luggage, getting taxis, etc. We will continue to make this our spot in NYC. Read less

From the lovely welcome greeting after having arrived from New Zealand after a long trip to the room which had a lovely character feel to it. Having a kitchenette was such a bonus as there is a food market right across the road. This hotel is so central to all the wonderful sights of New York with the subway so close and everything in walking distance. The sound proof windows meant you could get a completely uninterrupted sleep. We also went to see John Legend right next door at the Beacon Theatre as well as a having a lovely meal at the restaurant also next door. We loved out stay and can`t wait to go back again. We miss the Beacon! Read less

This is a great centrally located hotel, with plenty of options to eat, drink and access the main city areas. The subway is 2 blocks away. Staff were very helpful and kept us from getting lost. The Theatre next door has some great shows, but book early. Go on a number 2 or 3 subway and your in Time Square and Broadway in 5-10 mins for $2.90. … Read more

What a great place to stay. Rooms were squeaky clean, bed super comfortable and it is the quietest New York hotel I have ever stayed in. The staff was friendly and helpful. And they upgraded one of my rooms to a complementary king suite without me asking!I will be back
