Travelling in a sprinter van with two young kids in downtown seattle could be extremely challenging. I was struggling to find an overnight parking spot but Medhi at the valet went above and beyond and secured a spot for me right in front of the building. Everyone at the valet team was extremely helpful.

The receptionists and the concierge were friendly, professional and kindly. They were the best the hotel offers. The Restauraunt George was a disappointment with their simple menu choices and the quality of foods was not what we expected. Our French onion soup was way too salty. The servers were generally grumpy. The lobby bar offers varieties in its drink menu. But again, their service staff we had was not friendly. Maybe he had a couple of bad days twice in a row. He was slow in taking orders and bringing out our drinks as well as the checks. No smiles either. The toilet area was smelly in our room. On the first day, the cleaners sprayed heavy perfume. But the days go by, we noticed the smell.. The bed sheet had a hole and sheets were really worn out. The carpet was old and not clean. There was hair in the bathtub which the cleaners didn't clean. On the last day after I checked out, I got stuck in the elevator for a few minutes. The elevator door didn't close completely and kept sounding the alarm. I tried to open the dood to get out. The door didn't move and no-one came to help even though the alarm was going and it was on the lobby level. I was truly scared of being stuck in the elevator. Luckily the door closed after a few minutes by itself and I was able to get off on my floor to get my luggages. The location is good but be careful with homeless issues within a vicinity. Read less

About $400 per night. Breakfast costs extra ($45), but you get orange juice from a bottle and it is not fresh. Breakfast took 20 minutes to arrive. Rooms are outdated and bathroom had drainage issues. No mini fridge for personal use. If you take any items out you get charged. Room was clean and hot water was acceptable. A/C made a popping noise… Read more

I've stayed at this property about a dozen times in the past ten years. So much of what made me love the hotel is now gone and the price continues to go up. The staff remain marvelous and the room is clean and comfortable, but subtle changes are moving me to another hotel. The water temperature in both the hot tub and the hotel have clearly been lowered to such an extent that it's hard to get a hot bath. In cold, rainy Seattle that matters to me after a busy day. The spa now plays rap music instead of soothing easy listening. So much for relaxing. There is no place to get a snack after noon since the little coffee shop closes and there is nothing to buy in the vicinity of the hotel so you are stuck with expensive room service or honor bar if you want a cold drink. We spent $12 plus tip and tax for two TINY iced teas at the bar. By contrast, a similar hotel in another city would not take our money for iced tea after a day of sightseeing or even let me leave a tip. The now packed with profit room fridge has no space for a yogurt or piece of cheesecake which was an annual tradition to nibble over a several day visit. The teakettle in our room did not work....appeared to be not plugged in right and I could not reach the cord from behind the massive furniture....so I used my handy immersion heater to make tea just like at the Super 8. And the room service menu dropped multiple favorites, including the fabulous honey, nut and cheese tray (but you can pay a fortune for some Doritos) Shuckers Restaurant no longer has fried chicken and George does not serve the fabulous pancakes that were a mainstay of the hotel. Worst of all, it was our 30th. Five years ago we came back to chocolate dipped strawberries in our room and a sweet note. This year we got a piece of paper we thought was good for "food" but when we presented it, we were told it was just for alcohol. Because of cancer treatment, we don't drink so that was a big nothing special and another disappointment. I'll still be back for Penelope, but some hotels uptown have better food options nearby, hot tubs that are actually hot, refrigerators in the room and offer a better value. Read less

Beautiful and peaceful hotel with excellent location and friendly staff. This is my second stay here. Pool was nice and room exceeded expectations. Well appointed. Easy check in and great breakfast. I recommend the crab for breakfast. ..................
