Fairmont Dallas

Dallas, Texas

The hotel

A jewel in the downtown Arts District, Fairmont Dallas takes centre stage among cultural gems like The Dallas Museum of Art, symphony hall, and AT&T Performing Arts Center. Mixing the classic glamour you’d expect from a Fairmont, with that ‘larger-than-life’ Texas spirit, you'll find a Junior Olympic-size pool (with poolside dining in summer months), a lobby-level Starbucks, and the farm-fresh menu of Pyramid Restaurant, where the honey is even fresher — coming straight from the beehives in the hotel’s rooftop veg garden.

We stayed using a Priceline discount. After reading some negative reviews, I was a little worried. Especially since we got this at a discounted rate, I was sure we would experience some of the drawbacks others spoke about with an aging hotel. That was NOT the case for us! I felt like a princess in this beautiful hotel. Our room was clean, updated and pleased the eye. I have no complaints. Is it older? Sure, but I love the history behind it and beautiful views! Don’t let other reviews stop you from giving it a try! Read less

I was booked at this hotel because the Crown Plaza was closed due to the snow storm there. You are forced to park with valet for $34 a day. The valet people do not wear their masks properly. The pool was closed and nothing indicated that would be the case. The hallways and doors of the hotel look old. The view from the room was great and the room itself was fine. It had a walk-in closet. The bathroom however was dirty. I could see footprint on the tiles. I was also overbilled for my stay and for my valet parking, which they fixed later when I noticed it and called them on it. During weekdays they DO NOT have a restaurant open nor room service available !!!! (They say its due to pandemic, but ALL restaurants in the area are up and running with COVID precautions so this is not a valid argument). Very short staffed, although very helpful (specially Spencer and Stewart at the front desk) Felt my ALL points were wasted. Value for what I "paid" does not match. Read less

I realize that this review will most likely be met with the normal canned response from the public relations manager of the hotel, but I do hope it makes it up the chain of command for this property. Just concluded a three night stay at the Fairmont Dallas and have to say, in my opinion, this location needs some attention. The state of our Junior Suite was not great at all as noted by peeling wallpaper, mystery "sprays" across the door, and bubbling paint. There was one working elevator out of three the entire time during the stay which made for less than ideal timing getting to and from your room. Staffing at the hotel is bare minimum, never saw anyone at the bell desk, no assistance with luggage on check in or check out. Hotel restaurant is open two days a week and has four items on the breakfast menu. May as well just shut it all down. We were prior members of the Fairmont Presidents Club before it transitioned to the Accor group of hotels and now we are members there. Again, this hotel needs some refurbishment and a strong look at staffing shortages right now. It does not do the once proud Fairmont brand any favors. Read less

Centrally located, clean, great staff. This was a family trip with kids and there hotel was located where we could walk to several kid friendly places. We would stay again, and I recommend anyone who wants to be centrally located to stay here.
