Fairmont Dallas

Dallas, Texas

Virgin rating

The hotel

A jewel in the downtown Arts District, Fairmont Dallas takes centre stage among cultural gems like The Dallas Museum of Art, symphony hall, and AT&T Performing Arts Center. Mixing the classic glamour you’d expect from a Fairmont, with that ‘larger-than-life’ Texas spirit, you'll find a Junior Olympic-size pool (with poolside dining in summer months), a lobby-level Starbucks, and the farm-fresh menu of Pyramid Restaurant, where the honey is even fresher — coming straight from the beehives in the hotel’s rooftop veg garden.

The Dallas hotel isn't bad, it just doesn't warrant the price you pay. It's a huge hotel and on arriving they obviously have a love of events, proms etc... so it's buzzy. The room was fine, good amenities etc... The thing that really got me is the charge for WiFi. When you're paying £300 a night you do not expect to pay an extortionate amount for wifi in this day and age. On top of that, we were out all day, arriving back for a rest at 5.30pm and they hadn't cleaned our room, only to be distrubed at 6pm. Ironically, the next morning as we were checking out they knocked on at 8.30am. I thought the fairmont brand was better than this but they've now lost me as a customer. Read less

Despite having a confirmed reservation and the hotel holding our CC info, they rudely informed us we had no reservation and had to leave immediately. Despite showing en email chain with the details they confirmed, they forced us out. Staff members K and C were particularly unpleasant and rude. Never again.

We were supposed to have a suite. We were excited for our stay as we never have stayed at this hotel and it’s highly recommended by my company. We checked in and when we got to our room we were disappointed to see we were in a small room with one bed. There were 3 of us. I called down to the front desk stating we weren’t in the room we were supposed to have. They asked if we wanted a rollaway bed. We were tired and and had to get up early so I didn’t bother asking why we were out in the wrong room especially since the front desk didn’t ask. I requested the rollaway bed. After another call downstairs and 2 trips to the front desk I finally got our rollaway bed 2 hours later. The room was not nice and I informed the front desk that our room strongly smelled of pot. The front desk person told me the would make note of it and again, didn’t offer to put us in another room Read less
