Hotel kind of reminded me of a motel. This is just about the cheapest Hotel you are going to find on the Riverwalk so take it or leave it. The Houston Street Garage is literally a block away for $15 if you park there and don't move it. The location is on the good side of the Riverwalk. You just turn the corner and you're in the middle of all the… Read more

The Houston Street Garage is literally a block away for $15 if you park there and don't move it. The location is on the good side of the Riverwalk. You just turn the corner and you're in the middle of all the action. I got a room facing the city. It was meh during the day but at night it was pretty nice. I checked out early and they only charged for the time I was there which was surprising. The hotel itself is very basic and starting to show its age. I think if you are trying to impress someone, this might not be your best choice but for budget travelers it's ok. They have a mini store at the lobby. Everything you could want is nearby. Walgreens is by the Houston parking garage. Too many bars and restaurants to count. Read less

The lure of the big bucks from the NCAA turned their back to us common travelers. Read less

We stayed here for the state basketball tournament. We are IHG reward members and typically always stay at a Holiday inn hotel while out of town. This hotel is located on river walk which is what we wanted . The problem is with being on the river walk you are also faced with parking issues and shady street activities. We came back to our hotel on our third night of stay and the parking garage was full ( which we payed $27 a night for ) . Hotel told us we could go two blocks down and pay for parking there. If you have been to San Antonio lately you know that walking down town streets can be dangerous especially at night. ( ex. we were cussed out by man experiencing homelessness) Guy at front desk was nice enough to let us simply check out that night and did not charge us for that nights stay. If you are staying here just be aware of your surroundings and parking garage could fill up while you are out. Parking garage has signs all over stating they are not responsible for anything that happens to your vehicle. That being said I think they could do a better job of making the garage itself more secure. ( security guard ? , visible cameras? , better lighting? ) Read less

Although we did not plan on staying for several days but due to the storm we were weathered in. Having been in Law Enforcement I realize that in times like this it is next to impossible to plan for the frigid temps we had last week and both my wife and I were VERY IMPRESSED with the kindness we received from every member of the staff and how they… Read more

Having been in Law Enforcement I realize that in times like this it is next to impossible to plan for the frigid temps we had last week and both my wife and I were VERY IMPRESSED with the kindness we received from every member of the staff and how they were prepared considering that food and other deliveries were not running on a regular schedule. They might not have had every item on the menu, but it was very apparent that they were doing the VERY Best that anyone could expect. We agreed that we are looking forward to going back and enjoy the Hotel and Riverwalk when things return to normal. Read less

Rooms are average. Since the hotel didn’t adequately prepare for the winter storm, the restaurant ran out of food. Front desk staff is confrontational, incompetent and unhelpful. The lack of communication regarding EVERYTHING is unbelievable. Don’t bother interacting with manager Reuben. Interacting with Elizabeth has been the only positive… Read more
