Beautiful stay.. The hotel is as one expects in a large conference center. Some of the services such as spa was not available due to renovations. However, the staff are very friendly and the front desk staff went out of their way to make our stay very enjoyable.

Located in the quiet part of DC further away from the busy core. Good base for meetings nearby. Core is easily accessible via the Red line that is very close to the hotel. Lovely residential neighbourhood nearby.

The place was immaculate and the staff OUTSTANDING. I especially want to recognize the front office Director, SHEHERYAR QURESHI, who went out of his way to accommodate all our needs and made our stay at the hotel during the American Veterans Conference truly special. What a wonderful and polite gentleman.

I had some mixed feelings about our stay at the Omni Shoreham this past summer. We went up to DC to visit our oldest son who was working a conference at this hotel. The hotel had many positives which impressed us but a few things on which they could improve. Now let me say from the beginning, staying at a hotel like the Omni Shoreham is a rarity for us. We’re more of the Hampton Inn type. I am not accustomed to bellhops and Concierge services. I’m the kind of person that likes to park their own car, but here they had valet parking. Still, it’s nice to splurge once in a while. Since this is where my son’s conference was located, it made sense for us to stay here as well. Things that I liked: The location- this hotel was easy to get to. Not too crowded of an area. The Metro stop is just a few blocks walk. The neighborhood seemed reasonably safe (at least for DC). I didn’t worry about walking to McDonalds or the Metro. The grounds- absolutely beautiful. The summer flowers were in bloom. You can see why this is a prime location for weddings. Service- The staff was quite helpful. The lady who ran the coffee shop (Morel’s I believe) was very pleasant each day. The staff at the front desk was very helpful in answering a couple of questions that I had as well. The swimming pool- our boys use the pool to cool off in the hot summer heat. You do have to sign in as a guest room/number in order to use the pool area. History- I’m a history buff. The Omni Shoreham is quite historic. All around were images of the hotel in the past and stories that went along with it. Did you know that this is where John Kennedy first met Jaqueline Onassis? Room for improvement- General upgrade- I know that there is a balance between history and restoration. But some areas of the room just need a facelift. The bathrooms were quite small. The room had a different smell to it (not sure if it was the carpet or a cleaner). It wasn’t horrible, but certainly noticeable. Another example of this balance are the elevators- beautiful and elegant, but quite small. Expensive- As I said, I’m not accustomed to a hotel like this. The base price per night was not too bad, but be prepared to pay for quite a few other things such as tipping the bellboy and the valet parking. Meals at the restaurant were quite pricey as well. I’m glad the Metro was nearby because having to call up your car from valet whenever you need to drive somewhere gets expensive and a little time consuming. Final verdict-a bit of mix. Would we stay here again? Probably, if we could get a good deal on a room. Read less

This hotel far exceeded my expectations! It has been years since I visited and was expecting a tired, convention hotel, but instead found a lovely, charming and beautiful property with top notch customer service. From check in, to house keeping, to the restaurant staff, to the bell-stand- everyone was friendly and helpful. I was especially impressed with Front Desk Manager Deborah who went far above and beyond to take care of me (hand-delivering an apple to my room when I was unwell and room service was not open). This kind of service is much appreciated and really makes a property stand out. The grounds and lobby are beautiful and the rooms are well apportioned and comfortable. I wish all the management and staff the very best heading into the busy holiday season and look forward to the next time I find myself at this property. Read less
