I stayed here for a conference. I have been really disappointed in the place. The hotel’s infrastructure can’t handle large groups. Had to wait in long lines to use the elevator, couldn’t keep up with check in, also a long line. Housekeeping was miserable. I had a pile of hair on my sink when I got here and it took housekeeping two calls and… Read more

Had to wait in long lines to use the elevator, couldn’t keep up with check in, also a long line. Housekeeping was miserable. I had a pile of hair on my sink when I got here and it took housekeeping two calls and two visits to finally clean it. No soap in the room when I got here either. Not what I expect from an Omni hotel. Read less

We chose this hotel purely for proximity. Love the history and grandeur of the Shoreham and outdoor areas like pool are beautiful. The rooms as noted by others, particularly bathrooms, need some updating. Hotel seems understaffed and valet parking service was slow. I’d stay here again if I needed to be in this part of DC but don’t expect any kind of room quality compared to newer hotels downtown which are similarly priced at $300+ per night. Read less

We chose the Omni because of its proximity to our daughter's college graduation. We were celebrating, so booked a suite. The good: - The room was large with plenty of space and surfaces to spread out. Everything was very clean - The bed was very comfortable and the shower had great pressure - The service was cheerful and efficient with one exception, which I'll describe shortly - The location was perfect for us and the room was quiet even with a large wedding taking place at the hotel - Breakfast in the dining room (the only meal we had there) was nice and no more over-priced than any comparable city hotel - and they get a bonus for bringing us our coffee in a thermal carafe, so we could refill our cups at our leisure. The bad (All of these things are minor, but given the price we were paying and the reputation of the Omni Group, they should be noted): - While the room was spacious and clean, there's no doubt it was dated - The electric outlets were insufficient and inconveniently placed. - The bathroom was small compared to the room size, while the foyer was curiously large but was effectively dead space, except for the fact that it contained the only full length mirror in the room. The shower was quite cramped - I've seen much more commodious showers in Manhattan rooms with 1/3 of the square footage of our suite - They provide a little pod coffee maker in the same cabinet as the mini-fridge, but there's nowhere to plug it in by the cabinet, so we had to move it to a sidetable with a convenient outlet - very minor but annoying. Coffee was nice though - The lighting in the room wasn't great. It came exclusively from table lamps with incandescent bulbs. One of these lamps was right by the room thermostat, which caused it to make the room very cold on an unseasonably chilly weekend. - The windows, despite appearing to be heavy-duty, air-gapped windows, weren't properly sealed, allowing the wind to whistle quite loudly into our room on our first night, which was stormy - If you're going to claim to be saving the planet by not changing the sheets and towels, maybe go ahead and replace incandescent bulbs with LED ones and install low-flush toilets. - Wifi couldn't handle streaming without buffering - Finally, while the hotel staff were mostly friendly and efficient, the reception we received at check-in can best be described as brusque. It didn't make a good first impression. It's a lot of nitpicks, but again, the Omni Shoreham is meant to be a first-class property in our nation's capital, so little things matter. We'd happily stay there again, but that doesn't mean it will be our first choice next time. Read less

I stayed here last week and found this place to be in great need of a cleaning. Absolutely zero Covid protocols followed. The cleaning in my room was abysmal. And I woke up the next day with bites all over my legs from bedbugs. Please don’t make mistake and stay somewhere else

My experience was that the place was clean, but a bit overpriced. Valet parking only at $55/day and room $255. For half that cost you get free breakfast at other hotels. The shower pressure was good, the concierge friendly, and the place was quiet. But the AC could only heat, not cool, so I cooled it by opening the window. I was there for a… Read more
