Came here for a national convention. * Check in moved fairly quick thought there were more than 20 people in line * Room was fine except that shower barely worked * Breakfast for 2 was $80 for buffet for 2 plus orange juice and tea. The manager on duty promised to provide that suitable room with the requested amanaity at no additinal charge. The day of the arrival and at check-in, the front desk manager told me that would charge for a room with large table. My stay was for 5 nights and she suggessted that I check back with her the following day. Next day, the manager on duty, Ismail failed to hornor what was stated by the front desk manager. I did not mind paying more for the suitable room if that was disclosed at the time I called 10 days before arrival. However, it would be possible to have my organization pay on the day of arrival. I asked to speak with the manager, Ken Jura, Ismial said Ken is out won't be back for a week. I felt the hotel failed to honor what it had promosed and failed to rectify the issue. I would not entertain a future visit at this Read less

Stayed 4 nights. Parking: I have a great fear of parking garages and knowing I have to use one causes me great anxiety. I rarely had to wait for an elevator during my stay at a time the hotel was the site of 500 students competition . Very helpful check in. I used the fitness center, nice variety of equipment, I looked at the pool but it was too cold outside to jump in, but it was nice. I did not visit the restaurants, but did purchase coffee and snack at cafe. My room was very clean and great housekeeping. All the staff were great! Read less

The Washington Hilton is an old style international hotel. Modern design, large lobby, several café options, and a variety of guests ranging from flight crews to wedding parties to tour groups to businesspeople. There's nothing particularly noteworthy and certainly nothing charming, but my room was large (at least for someone coming from Europe) and well equipped and clean. The location is good as far as that there are many eating options in the neighborhood and a metro station nearby. We didn't drive, but I'd suppose the fact that it's not fully downtown would make coming and going easier. However, you are not walking distance from any tourist attractions. Then again, there's a metro station close by. Read less

I am really appalled that this hotel has overall such a good rating. I came here for a medical conference and am in communication with the organization to have this venue removed from possibilities going forward. To name just a few of the main issues: There is $20 fee that is charged to you daily as a "drink and food fee," of which you are supposed to be able to purchase that amount in food and drink within the hotel of which $20 would be covered. First off--how petty to charge this at all. However, having read about it beforehand, I contacted the desk to confirm if any location in the lobby could be used. That was confirmed, "oh yeah, any location in the lobby for food and drink." I did so every day during my stay, of which ALL charges were added onto my bill. I called to inquire--apparently buying food and drink in their gift shop does not count towards it--it can only be from their small grocery type area. Absurd that the receptionist did not specify, and now I owe an extra $140 for food and beverage I did not need in the first place. My room was supposed to be "Monument View," of which I paid over $40/night extra for. When I checked in, there were none available. Fine. HOWEVER, I was still charged the same rate and am now having to now dispute it with someone--I have called twice, it is still not resolved. I stayed five nights, so that also adds up. Rooms are very small for cost of the hotel. It is extremely outdated, old, needing of pressure washing outside. I went to the gym and was having an issue with the water dispenser, and the guy working the desk two feet away wouldn't even look up, because either he couldn't hear me over his headphones or was pretending that was the case. Our virtual key through their app didn't work the second half of our stay. I paid nearly $400 a night, a sub $100 Holiday Inn would've done a better job. The only benefit here is the location, if specifically you have business in the DuPont area. Otherwise you'll be Ubering around like you could do from any location. I have just cancelled my reservation for another 4 night conference mid-May, and I will be staying across the street at the Churchill Hotel and walking over to this one for my meetings. Read less
