Canopy by Hilton Washington DC The Wharf

Washington DC, USA

The hotel

Totally in keeping with its sophisticated home city, Canopy by Hilton Washington DC The Wharf sweeps you up in its uber-contemporary spirit. With its incredible location — best admired from the roof terrace — the urban-appropriate greenery, and a barely-there glass balcony create a serene setting for viewing Potomac River. It may only be a walk from the metro, water taxis, and The Wharf, but it has complimentary Canopy bikes for exploring. And you can return for local brew, wine, and spirit tastings at Canopy Central, which is also the venue for its complimentary artisanal breakfasts (if you don’t opt for the free Break Fast Bag in-room delivery, that is).

I absolutely LOVED the hotel room. It's like a modern treandy loft. Design was amazing. I would rent this as a apartment. Loved it. The beautiful Wharf area had some great bars and restaurants. Location wise the hotel is perfect. I walked everywhere as the weather was good but also had great transportation links from The Wharf to all of Washington DC'S landmarks and attractions. When visiting Washington DC again I will definitely stay at Canopy by Hilton The Wharf again and would highly recommend the hotel. Read less

I really enjoyed my stay with you. Your hotel is very appealing, clean and friendly place. It would be great if Hilton would replicate this throughout their brand. Keep up the good work and tell all of your employees, Thank You. Andy

Stayed two nights at the Canopy by Hilton on The Wharf in DC, early Dec. The purpose of my trip was to attend a Bob Dylan concert, a two-minute walk from the hotel at The Anthem. The Wharf is a new recreational area on the Potomac, not yet fully completed, but already a great place for a relaxing time. The Canopy is very new, just like every restaurant, shop, etc., on this waterside promenade. The hotel has an easy entrance, with check-in on the second floor (the ground floor has a very good upscale bakery/sandwich shop). An elevator ride takes you up to the spacious open lobby/lounge/restaurant level. It has a very open and airy vibe. My room had a great view of the Potomac and the (Saturday night) annual holiday boat parade, followed by a beautiful fireworks display. There was lots of floor space and a floor-to-ceiling window wall with a great chaise lounge alongside. Giant comfortable bed, large desk-counter area, great big-screen TV, large open area for storing and hanging belongings, mini-fridge with some amenities (don't remember if there was a microwave), sleek bathroom with a large shower and actual shelves for personal toiletries on a side wall by the sink, so practical. (I think that the complimentary toiletries were Gilchrist & Soames.) Breakfast at the restaurant was buffet style with a good variety of quality food, including tapas-style items. Also had a late-afternoon meal there which was very tasty. The restaurant has a panoramic view. Staff were all pleasant and efficient. Looking forward to visiting again. Read less

Went off about every 2 minutes all night long, not kidding. And a colleague had same problem in his room. Major design/ poor equipment problem. If you can sleep thru episodic loud noises, this hotel is good. We won't be back, sadly, as we obviously otherwise liked it. Read less
