After a long two-day international journey, I arrived late night at the front desk. The rep immediately began pitching an upgraded suite with a “city view.” Exhausted, I was excited and said sure, upgrade me! I get to the room and it was nice. It was a suite, but there was no city view. I had a BUILDING VIEW of other hotel rooms with a tiny slither of the street peeking from around the building. What’s so frustrating is if he had not mentioned that as one of the amenities, I would have still upgraded the room and would have been completely satisfied! I was too tired to go back down and have that fight once I got in my room. The next morning I took a trip to the restroom to discover NO WATER at all in the toilet! Tried to turn the valve on, nothing! Sooooo, how did housecleaning thoroughly clean the toilet with no water??? At this point, I went downstairs to complain. Denise Bennett saved the day for me. She was very apologetic, immediately put in a ticket to get the toilet fixed, offered me breakfast, and offered to move me to a city view room. Moral of the story? DON’T LIE to guests about room amenities!!!!! My only regret is I didn’t get his name. But Doubletree, you can find out who he is. PLEASE tell that rep to not do that. It’s counterproductive. Great location for work, friendly staff and has everything you need. Bed and pillows comfortable. Workout room is nice but some of the machines are dated but they are functional. AC works great in the rooms. Some of the interior lighting is a little low but lots of lamps you can get ample light.

The beds were pretty comfortable, although the pillow was a bit flat. The lobby was clean and modern and the fitness centre was also clean and had lots of equipment. The room was decently clean, with some aspects of the decor needing a little updating, but nothing major. The overall vibe of the room was clean and modern-ish. The blackout drapes were very good and the bathroom was clean. Overall, a good place to stay and the cookies are a nice bonus. Read less

It happened again. On 6 August 2024 around 1:30 PM, a shuttle bus from Double Tree Hotel in Crystal City arrived in the arrival area in DCA. After all the guests left, a driver named Israel refused to get out of the driver seat to load our luggage to the back trunk. While sitting and waving his hand (see photos attached), he wanted us to carry our luggage onto the shuttle bus knowing that the back’s compartment was empty! We asked him why. He said he was busy helping the pilot! According to the attached photo, there wasn’t anybody left in the shuttle. When he saw more guests arrived to take the shuttle; he then got out of the bus, went back to load the luggage with a demeanor attitude and tried to bully us (see photo attached). We know his name Israel because his bad service toward us had happened in April 2024. It seems Israel has intentionally discriminated us from other guests especially with the flight crew who also took the same shuttle to and from the airport. He treated them with upmost care because of they wear “uniforms” & maybe they gave him more tips than us? How does he treat other guests not in uniforms? Same as above incidents!? As Business & Family Travelers, we always pleasant and give tips to shuttle drivers! After this incident, we went to the front desk and asked for the General Manager, Stephanie Voutselakos, to report it but she wasn’t available. Since then, we had left her several voice messages and email but no response. As the frequent guests, this bad service needs to be corrected. He needs to get out of driver seat, and load guest’s luggage in the back compartment! NOT to keep seating on his behind and make guests to carry their bags ON-TO the bus :( Also, we like to send complement about your front desk agents: Hassan & Seth . Plus other shuttle bus drivers are good at their job: Zafarth & John. Regards, Read less
