The Sofitel is a pleasant hotel with a number of positives and some negatives. Our room was spacious and had a decent view. The bed was comfortable and we slept well Our room was cleaned promptly which was very nice. The bathroom was nice with a large shower and a comfortable sink. We were provided with a number of Lanvin bathroom amenities. Staff were all friendly and accommodating. The desk representatives call taxis for us which arrive quickly. The restaurant is only open on weekends and while food, both in the restaurant and take away was very good and sufficient, the prices were extraordinarily high. For example when we were able to dine in the restaurant the cost was $92 for breakfast including $12 for orange juice and $12 for coffee. Luckily we had a breakfast plan so all of our breakfasts were included. There is very little room to sit in the lobby. Also, to walk to the National Mall in 90° weather was too far so we had to go by taxi. Finally, while check in and check out were both quick and efficient we had to wait quite a while to get our car. It was kept two blocks away and there was only one person available to obtain it for us. Read less

Our first visit to this hotel and it was great. Modern rooms with great views of the city. Dog friendly even for my Irish setter who is 85 pounds. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Free coffee in the lobby in the morning. Had dinner in there restaurant and enjoyed steak frites on bastille on their sidewalk terrace with the dog. Good food and… Read more

Just a few blocks from the hotel you are at the White House. Highly recommended especially if you have a dog. Read less

We stayed in the luxury room which is very small and cleanness was not the best. The room didn't have a microwave, the fridge was tiny, you can only put drinks in it. It was very inconvenient to get water, you have to ask in the main lobby and if it's busy you'll be waiting. After we left, they charge a $30 fee for Guest Amenities for each day we stayed which is basically $30 a day for two bottles of water you get a day. That was very upsetting. Read less

I stayed here while visiting DC for the weekend. It was the perfect location, close to many of the restaurants and museums I wanted to visit (there are also 2 amazing coffee spots 1 min away). The staff were all great. The room was spacious, clean, and very quiet. I would absolutely stay here again, I thought it was excellent value for money.

We have stayed at the Sofitel DC twice. It is very clean and the rooms feel upscale. We have stayed in the Luxury Room and the Junior Suite executive and were happy both times. We would recommend asking if the Junior Suite Executive is an interior-facing one or a city view. They may only be interior view but it is worth asking since the view is… Read more
