The Fairmont is a lovely hotel. The king sized room lives up to its name. The room is spacious and the king sized bed is incredibly comfortable. It is quiet and is in walking distance (30 minutes to most) of all the sights. Happy hour is good value too.

Staff was super responsive and helpful. Great location in a safe, upscale area of DC - and close to everything. Loved express check-in. we were able to get our room in the morning with no problems. That made my day. Pool is a bit small for Families when people are swimming laps...but that's my only complaint. Really a perfect hotel. Read less

good location NW of the Mall and main sights but within half a mile walk in the evening of the village like shops and restaurants of the more intimate Georgetown. Established and well furnished. What makes this a great stay for us was the staff. Always approachable staff made our experience memorable.
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Top Shelf. Plenty to choose from in DC, but you WON'T go wrong here.

The room was very comfortable, clean, quiet for a city setting (6th floor) and renovated with a boutique flair. The lobby is very nice and the bar, which is dead center in the middle of it, is not very obvious when you walk in, as it's sunken 4 or 5 steps....you wouldn't notice it unless it was hopping. The staff was very accommodating on a personal level AND for the very large group that we had. Unfortunately, we never had an official sit-down meal on the property, BUT the buffets (breakfast & lunch) that were provided for the various meetings were exceptionally good (who remembers meeting buffets??). There were some excellent choices.....steak, cod, salads that would temp me to become a vegetarian! They covered ALL the bases and did it with grace and style. Read less
