The ONLY minor flaw: the scrambled eggs on the buffet were powdered (two out of the three mornings we were there). Still, it was noteworthy to me because it made no sense. I expect to get powdered eggs at a Holiday Inn Express, but NOT at the Fairmont. To whomever made that decision, what were you thinking? It's not like eggs are expensive, at least not compared to the smoked salmon, fresh berries, and other yummy items on the buffet. It was just weird. But everything else was perfect. :) Read less

Not having stayed at the Fairmont in nearly 20 years, I was glad to have a reason to select it (for privacy reasons) over the conference hotel across the street. What had previously been an elegant but cold - too much white marble- lobby and living room has been warmed up by a sophisticated French renovation, following the Accor acquisition of Fairmont hotels. Lobby lounge, fantastic interior courtyard seating/dining and lively after work bar scene are all enhanced and mesh well as a lovely hospitality space. A most accommodating staff offered early check in, quick enrollment for complimentary Wi-Fi, and so, well, French - a check out time of 1PM. How very civilized. Early access to a commodious double queen room of 400 square feet was a blessing as was the comfortable bed and quiet. Despite being located off the elevator, no noise problems were experienced. Bathroom was large and well-provisioned with a strong amenity package, plus a lit make-up mirror. Hotel has a good fitness room and pool, which is great. City views, as advertised, meant of the other hotels nearby. The central location, 4 blocks from the Metro station at George Washington University, is excellent although actually Georgetown-adjacent, and in fact situated in Foggy Bottom. Read less

The Fairmont Georgetown is a beautiful, bright hotel and centrally located! We recently stayed in Washington for our son's surgery. Upon finding this out, the Fairmont staff went out our their way to make our stay very comfortable. Thank you, very much! Your efforts were very much appreciated!

I initially booked a non-refundable room but found the front desk willing to offer me a one-time courtesy when my trip needed to be cut short. Extremely kind! The hotel is very luxe and the room was beautiful. Excellent stay.
