The guest services at Melrose Georgetown is amazing. The staff is incredibly pleasant and easy to talk to. They accommodated all of our needs - we requested a toothbrush, earplugs, silverware for Postmates meals and extra towels/linens which were promptly delivered to our room. They will hold your luggage prior to checkin and after checkout, if needed. The room was spacious and comfortable. Our double/full bed room had a chaise, desk and open floor space that allowed our group to spread out comfortably. Location is walkable at any time of day and close to most major destinations. Scooter/bike/Uber can get you to most hotspots in about 5-15 minutes. I got to most of my destinations in less than 30 minutes by walking/metro. I absolutely would stay here again and will recommend to friends and family. COVID Notes: The rooms and linens are all clean and there is hand sanitizer throughout the hotel. The restaurant/room service is closed and housekeeping only comes every other day instead of every day. The dc metro schedules are modified but shouldn’t be an issue unless you plan to be out past 11. None of the above affected my stay. Read less

This was a last minute booking due to the flea bag motel that we originally had and canceled. We drove and this was the first place we saw. As soon as we walked in I noticed how clean it was and how good it smelled all throughout the hotel. I’m sensitive to smells but this was perfect. Friendly staff and the rooms were nice. They didn’t have valet up and running but it worked out because for one their valet is super expensive anyways and two we parked literally across the street (luck I suppose). Also they have Dish cable which went out for a few hours when a few raindrops fell and not a good channel selection. Other than that it was quiet, great location and the price wasn’t too bad either. I’d stay again. Read less

Greetings & Salutations, The Melrose is without doubt one of my favorite and one of the best hotels in Washington D.C. I have been a guest since 2018, when I first discovered this amazing gem on HotelTonight. I must also rrite them a thank you note as well for introducing me to Melrose. These are overwhelming and confusing times, the global pandemic has turned everyone’s life on it’s head. Given quarantine guidelines, one can easily imagine how it might feel stressful to stay in hotel – shared quarters. I do not have that stress because of the incredible staff here at the Melrose. Everyone I have encountered here has made my stay beautiful. Each member of the staff takes safety precautions seriously. They do not do this in a domineering or controlling way – but do so in the most pleasant manner. The demeanor makes guests comfortable – knowing that sanitation and quarantine guidelines are being adhered to at the highest levels of management. I see how the staff treat and interact with one another – it’s inspiring and I wish we could all engage like this out there in the world. The events on our world stage would be entirely different if people operated with the same kindness, generosity, authenticity, and genuine care as the staff at Melrose. It has brought me much peace to see interactions amongst themselves and with other guests, including myself, in such a heartfelt way. It’s important to me that anyone who is working and considered an essential worker – is also given the same care and protection – that I, as a paying guest, I am receiving. I have extended my stay multiple times. That is only because of the extraordinary staff that has made my stay so comfortable and memorable – I will never forget the kindness and warmth of this staff. The entire staff was extremely friendly, I truly enjoyed every night here. There are many beautiful hotels in Washington D.C. and the surrounding region (DMV) – I have stayed at many of them over work trips. These include The Willard Intercontinental, The Fairmont, The Four Seasons, The Mandarin Oriental, The Mayflower – to name a few. Each of those hotels are lovely properties in their own right. I enjoyed the rooms and the amenities. The service was great too. But it was just that – great service – which is what one comes to expect with that type of name brand. How does the service at those top hotels differ from what I experienced at The Melrose? There is simply no comparison. To the point, where the above question itself, betrays the very experience I have been afforded. Not just this stay in June of 2020 but every stay since I first became acquainted in 2018. Here, it’s not the old adage, “Service with a smile”, but far deeper. What I have experienced is a genuine care and concern for my well-being. The staff here is service with all heart. And with that, no other hotels, regardless of their amenities, brand name, or stature amongst Washington elites, cannot compete. The Melrose has an atmosphere that is so special that it really felt like home to me. All respect for every member of the staff who is great job here – especially during such a stressful time in our world. Melrose is a world class example and a true sample of excellent hospitality! - Thank You! Alexandra Read less
