The guy working the pm shift is a super star too he handled the bar and the front desk so smoothly! We went out for dinner and brought our friends back with us to the bar because we loved it so much and couldn’t wait to tell them everything about Moxy! Thanks everyone and we’ll be back again! I recently had a chance to stay at the Moxy during the snow storm in D.C. post Valentine's Day. I must say I wasn't disappointed! Upon check in you are greeted with a cocktail or wine of your choice. I recently had a chance to stay at the Moxy during the snow storm in D.C. post Valentine's Day. I must say I wasn't disappointed! Upon check in you are greeted with a cocktail or wine of your choice. There is no front desk. You literally check in at the bar. How cool is that? The lobby makes you want to just remain there instead of checking into your room. They have games, a grab and go bar, and comfortable seating. You can even do work on your laptop in the back by the grab and go food station. The second floor before you get to your room is more of a cozy lounge area with a closed off conference room/private space. Think of it as a place to drink coffee or tea, relax, read a book, and unwind. They have books, a apple desktop for your personal use, and a keurig so you can make coffee. Now for the actual rooms, I stayed on the 12th floor which gave me amazing views of the city. The curtains in the room are blackout and sheer controlled with a push of a button. The room makes you feel like you are in a New York apartment based on the decor. Although the room may be a bit smaller than your average hotel room it gives you everything you need. You have a tiny fridge, great space in the bathroom, and a deep tub with spa like shower qualities. If you are worried about Covid and your safely no worries no one can enter the hotel without wearing a mask. All of the staff have mask and the rooms are super clean. Your remote comes wrapped in plastic to ensure cleanliness. Honestly this has been my favorite hotel stay this year. I look forward to staying here again because the location is great, the price is affordable, the staff is outstanding, and it's walking distance to restaurants and some attractions. Read less

This hotel is incredible, both visually and personally. The staff were accommodating and super helpful. Love the Moxy brand. The DC Moxy staff is very friendly and helpful. They are located a short walk from the mall and White House. Plus there are many restaurants near by the hotel. I highly recommend the Moxy DC.

This place is an attempt to capture a niche market of young people with enough money in their wallet to cover a $300 to $400 per night room. This assumes that young people don't appreciate clean rooms and basic hotel amenities, as well as staff courtesy. Your first encounter is the check-in at the bar; not the hotel reservation desk. The two or three young people behind the bar are perpetually busy serving customers drinks and other consumables that they have difficulty getting you checked in. They are not very friendly, rarely make eye contact, and are more concerned with enforcing the "mask mandate" than they are in treating you as a valued customer. When my traveling companion and I opened the door to our "room" (more like cubby) we were unpleasantly surprised to find a bunk bed situation. Being 65 I naturally had to claim the bottom bunk. I might fall from the top and break a hip! LOL The beds were spacious...much more so than the hostels I used to stay in traveling Europe years ago. That's what this place felt like. A glamorized "hostel." The lower bunk also doubled as a sofa. There were no chairs in the room and therefore no place to sit down, other than the square avant-garde toilet in the glass cubical, non-private bathroom. We left for the day with our wet towels on the floor for house keeping, as well as our small trash cans ready for emptying. Coming back in the evening nothing had changed. I was informed at the bar that they no longer provided house keeping due to covid. How convenient and cost effective...for them! I offered to carry two clean towels up to the room, but my offer was refused. She would have "room service" bring them up. Two hours later...well you get the picture. The complimentary self serve coffee bar only came through when I was checking out. When I really desired some coffee the dispenser was empty, which really didn't matter because the cups, creamer and sugar were pretty much depleted and no one was interested in replenishing it. I suppose if I'd ordered a $5 latte they might have provided that. I did not book this "hotel" (hostel) so I had no control. It was done for me, and probably selected because all of the good placed were already booked. It was a mistake. It is a mistake that I implore you not to make. Find a Motel 6 and get an Uber into the city. At least they'll leave the light on for you, and you won't have to navigate a ladder in the dark at 3 AM to hit the square bowl! Read less
