Image of the Tripadvisor rating Best location for riverfront parks and sports stadiums

This is the most stylish hotel in the Navy Yard/Yards Park area and closest to the beautiful riverfront parks, restaurants and brew pubs, and very close to the baseball and soccer stadiums. I live in DC and know this neighborhood well, and would recommend this hotel to all out of town guests.

And a period of two days I asked three times for coffee pods received none. When I mention this at checkout The response I got was sorry. This is not the caliber service at the star rating. When we first arrived to check in I was told there was a resort fee of approximately $80. I don’t mind paying my fair share but I don’t like surprises it comes… Read more

The Hotel was great to take us in at 2 am after out flight got cancelled. The rooms were clean and the hot shower was great after traveling all day. The staff kept our luggage for us after the 11 am checkout so that we could go grab lunch before our afternoon flight. This was very helpful!

I just stayed at the Thompson DC for the first time and have found my new favorite DC hotel. It is located in the Navy Yard district, which is a little removed from the touristy areas of DC (though easily accessed by the nearby Metro stop) on the waterfront and and full of young professionals running, walking dogs, and enjoying the many nice restaurants and bars in the area. It's also next to the ballpark if that is your interest. Everyone on the staff was so friendly and welcoming, like they were genuinely happy to have you there. The room was decorated in a beautiful 1930's style with beds and pillows that were so very, very comfortable. Definitely recommended. Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating nice enough hotel, mediocre service

Hotel itself is nice, stylish, rooms a reasonable size and beds comfy, Sadly the establishment is let down by the staff and very basic levels of customer service. They all seemed like they would rather be working anywhere else but the hotel.
