We have recently returned from a week at Calabash and wish we could have stayed longer. This hotel is amazing, the room is spacious and modern with great AC and the mini bar was very generous with white and red wine as well as soft options. The bottle of rum punch was also a lovely addition! The bathroom has great amenities and the shower was probably one of the best we’ve had in a hotel. The food is outstanding. We had breakfast in our room on the balcony as well as heading to the beach club and we managed to try most of the dishes on the menu, there wasn’t a bad dish! The tapas option at lunch was also really appealing as you could try a few different things. We had dinner at both restaurants and the Asian tapas was delicious. It was very quiet so not much atmosphere but the food was the highest quality. Rhodes restaurant and the speciality nights at beach club had lots of choice, the only disappointment was that there was no lobster on offer on any of the nights. Unfortunately we had some illness while we were there (nothing to do with the hotel) and Regan was so helpful in organising the doctor and checking in on us. She was so kind and helpful. The staff at calabash really make the hotel what it is. Everyone was so kind and made a really effort to learn our name and chat to us each day. A few people really stood out. Gabriel is the kindest man and we had such lovely chats with him, he’s been at the hotel so long and has amazing stories. George makes the best cocktails and is great fun in the evenings around the bar. Abigail is also such a ball of energy and has such a joyous personality you can’t help but smile every time you chat to her. Due to the illness we weren’t able to enjoy our time as much as we would have liked to but we will definitely be back to enjoy everything that Calabash has to offer. Read less

The real test of any business is its performance under stress. The staff at the Calabash provided the most phenomenal service we’ve ever received- despite our stay coinciding with hurricane Beryl. The warmest welcome was provided upon arrival, with many team members awaiting us at reception. Our expectations were high and were surpassed every day. There are so many of the staff I could single out for exemplary service. Each and every one of them had a smile, a warm greeting and a story to share, from the security guards to the sports club, the wait staff and beyond. We had several instances where the went above and beyond- including tracking down a lost UPS package, helping me find a gift and blowing up complicated balloons for my partner’s birthday. We were extremely well taken care of during the hurricane with the front desk calling us regularly to see if we were ok. The kitchen provisioned us with food and other supplies in advance of the onset. The hotel has been constructed with safety in mind and was not damaged. The grounds were impacted and restored almost immediately. We had two rooms and the second suite will benefit from some upgrades but it was spacious, comfortable and clean. The hotel has a true family feel and is in a class of its own. We absolutely loved our stay with the Calabash. If outstanding hospitality, platinum service and unforgettable staff are what you’re looking for… you’ve found it. Read less

I had the pleasure of dining at The Rhodes restaurant which which offered the best service and the most amazing meals and variety. Compliments to the chef and his team. Compliments to the George, Morissa Sherlyn, Tamika, Kara & Regan at front desk. The ambiance is very satisfying as well.

Wonderful staff, good food, decent drinks selection in the all-inclusive package, well-appointed suites with big rooms, excellent aircon, huge bathroom with very good shower. The owner himself actually pitches up at the weekly cocktail party, so you have a perfect opportunity to let him know of any issues (we didn’t have any). Non-powered water sports are included, and there’s good availability of a wide range of kit. Decent mini-bar, again all included, canapés brought to the room every evening. You can have breakfast on your verandah if you so choose. We had the best time, and are genuinely planning to return. It really is that good. Read less

We enjoyed a delightful breakfast on our balcony one morning but loved dining right on the beach in the mornings. Best French Toast eve !! We could not fault any of the meals we had. Dinner in Rhodes was a highlight for us and loved the Lion Fish on the menu. We felt the upgrade to half board was a good decision. The Suite we had was very spacious and had everything you could ask for. The clothes steamer was a great idea as who wants to iron on holiday. There were so many attentive staff such as Alex, Michael, Stephens, Hannah.. the list goes on. The Garbutt family really do an amazing job and I will certainly be recommending this hotel to family and friends. Read less
