We are staying in a 1 bedroom suite with sea view which is actually very nice and the beach is gorgeous. One of the reasons we settled for this resort was reviews suggesting the food was very good. WRONG, the food is the worst I have ever experienced at a hotel and any all inclusive. The choice is extremely limited and the quality is shocking. Set aside the meal times, afternoon Tea is a selection of Lays crisps in the coffee shop if you are lucky 😂, you couldnt make it up! After three days we decided to venture out and go to nearby restaurants, cant take this for a whole week! On the up side we won't be going home fat! 🤣🤣🤣 Read less

We too stayed here fortunately for only two nights prior to our cruise. Too say we were disappointed is a huge understatement, we couldn’t wait to leave. Here’s why, the decor was outdated, scruffy and shabby. Black mould on a lot of the tiles, water was spraying out of the top of the shower head, the taps were ceased up and wouldn’t turn, the toilet seat had to replaced whilst we were there, the next day the toilet roll holder fell off the wall and water very slow to drain from the bath. The dining room was disgusting, very shabby seats, the paint was peeling from the ceiling and leaking. ( a towel was placed on the floor next to my table to mop up the water). Tiles missing from the roof on an adjacent apartment. Poor food choices at both breakfast and dinner, the temperature of the chilled food would not meet the legal requirements so the hot food sitting on the buffet I wouldn’t eat because I don’t believe the temperature would meet the standards either. Tinned peaches are something I didn’t expect to see in a hotel reputed to be 4 star. Plates snatched away as soon as you laid your cutlery down, the wine was undrinkable. We were asked at breakfast if we would like to book a table in the main restaurant, we said no thank you we have booked at Drifters, she said you can’t have, it is closed tonight. Was anyone planning to tell us ? We were forced to pay for taxis to eat elsewhere. The pool was uninviting and small and all the umbrellas on the beaches were falling to bits. I am sorry there is nothing positive to say about this hotel and I believe it should Have closed long before now for refurbishment. The staff are doing their best in a hopeless situation but some are coming over as being unhappy and who can blame them. Read less

Absolutely dreadful. It's closing for refurbishment in a couple of months, but unless you are ready for a place that is tired beyond belief, I strongly recommend avoiding. Absolutely dreadful. It's closing for refurbishment in a couple of months, but unless you are ready for a place that is tired beyond belief, I strongly recommend avoiding. Leaks in the restaurant roof, bathrooms with chips in the tiles and mould in the seals. Filthy curtains. Towel rails falling off walls. I do understand that maintenance is a sunk cost when you're about to close, but I explained to the GM that this was a disgrace. Amazingly he agreed. The food service was also distinctly below par. One of the two restaurants routinely closed. Buffet served far too often. And food choice closer to school dinners than a luxury Barbados hotel. Tinned fruit at breakfast?? Really? In Barbados? Where's the fresh fish and local food (not Macaroni pie every day, please). No excuse for this, and you should up the F&B offer if the fabric is tired to compensate your customers. Perhaps put an apologetic bottle of (free anyway) fizz into the room??? Again raised with the GM who offered to get the chef to make anything I wanted. I declined. I didn't want to draw attention to ourselves at dinner by having something different, and in any case shouldn't you show all the guests the same service? Was introduced to Richard the Guest Experience Manager who didn't seem to make any difference other than badgering us out of our 'late check out' at 2pm as it was 'unfair on the other guests'. I see lots of comments recently saying this hotel is run down. I see lots from Richard saying they will 'take on board' the comments. None of this is happening. I am waiting for my money back from Marriott, who should be ashamed to be associated with this offering. I'm not holding my breath though. Read less

Disappointed, hotel needs to close and a full refurbishment done now, actually 10 years ago would probably have be better, mosquitos are bad, stagnant water outside rooms, food poor, some staff are great but some are really not happy, could do with sending secrete shoppers in to see what is going on

This hotel is awful. And their attitude to their poor standards is even worse. In April they gave my son, daughter and partner salmonella poisoning. All confirmed with public health england. We didn't get to enjoy any of the facilities as the buffet gave them sickness on night 1. When I asked for assistance, there was nothing. There was no care and when i complained afterwards, the hotel and Marriott just did not care. For a very expensive trip, there has been no compensation, even though my 13 year old was very unwell for weeks afterwards. Ended up in A and E twice, once for 10 hours as his stomach pains were so severe. Do not touch fish off the buffet !!! All i ever wanted was an apology from the hotel but never got one. Read less
