Overall, good holiday experience (parents, 10yr old child, mum-in-law). All the basics covered; good standards in accommodation (fixtures, fittings, peripherals, comfort). 3 restaurants and buffet option offering good standards and variety. Pool area with mix of pool types for quiet dipping or more active. Kid's club resulting in a happy child, making friends etc. Usual idyllic sunset-watching spot on the beach with bar. Staff generally friendly, attentive and accommodating. A call-out was the aftercare; our son lost his favourite whaleshark hat on the way home; we asked the island about a replacement and they sent one over, no quibble. It's little things like that that tell you a lot about a good service-led culture in any resort. (And all this in the iconic Indian ocean setting; pristine white beaches, turquoise waters, light breeze, 27-31 degrees celcius and humid). Depending on the reason for your holiday, the star of the show at Dhigali is the snorkelling and diving. The reef is accessible from the beach for a reasonable swimmer and extensive; and appears to be healthy in terms of flora-fauna. I have reviewed the dive school separately; in summary the staff, facilities and equipment set high standards, and the variety of dive sites is excellent (we are advanced open water, c30 dives, plenty of dives were the right balance of challenge (night dive, current) and sight-seeing for flora-fauna). A few areas the island might want to think about (very minor issues, and depends on your outlook for a holiday); - pathway surfacing - it's bumpy so the buggy-rides are painfully slow at times. - occasionally, service was a tiny bit slow, ordered items forgotten. - occasionally, the in-house DJ was a little bit too loud when it's a quiet afternoon by the main pool. - may be worth making the restaurant at the far end of the island a breakfast spot; for rooms/guests this side of the island, it's a decent journey to get to the main breakfast spot. - make bikes available. The whole Dhigali experience was truly magnificent. From the very warm friendly reception at the airport, seamless transfers and meet and greet at the resort the whole experience was wonderful. The accommodation was beautiful and spotlessly clean. The room was serviced twice a day with full bedding and towel exchanged throughout our stay. The hotel manager Chris was exceptional professional but charming and friendly to all visitors and guests, as were the entire staff throughout the resort. From the room cleaning staff to waiters to the bar staff the entire island appeared to run with exceptional ease and tranquility. The service from all the staff throughout all the resort restaurants was outstanding as was the quality of the food at every meal. If people complain about any aspect of this resort I do not know what they expect from a holiday. I can not praise this resort highly enough and if anyone is considering the Maldives you will not be disappointed with this resort. Read less

The food in all the al a carte restaurants was exceptional it felt like fine dining which is really good for an all inclusive hotel. The island is beautiful. The sunset bar was magical with the music cocktails and sandbank where you could walk into the Indian Ocean. The East bar and pool was quiet as was the beach and you could really feel as though you were on a desert island. The Beach villa with outside bathroom was best room we have ever stayed in and we have visited lots of 5 star resorts around the world. Sadly we had to finish our holiday early due to illness at home and the manager really kindly has said we can take our 3 days that we didn’t use in the future. They didn’t have to do this we know but it was a really kind gesture and very much appreciated and really showed the management care about the guests - outstanding 5 star resort all round Read less

While we found the a la carte dining options overall to be less impressive, Faro stood out as a delightful exception. The meals there were exquisite, and the ambiance felt like a tranquil escape. What made our experience even more heavenly was the outstanding service provided by Laamiu, whose attention to detail made us feel genuinely cared for.
